Door to door salesman named "Andy" ignored clearly worded signs on my front door saying "DO NOT KNOCK OR RING BELL" and decided to ring my doorbell and knock two times each while my newborn was sleeping Opened my door and pointed to the sign and he stormed off and intentionally left my front gate open which would allow my dog to escape. Walked outside to close my gate and he yelled across the street "Good job closing your gate!" I asked him who we was with and he lied and said a pest control company. Told me they would refund my money, then sent an email saying they weren't going to refund my money. I called them and they kept running me around and hanging up on me for over an hour. Oh, this is precious. Since we were having so many connectivity issues, we were offered a wifi beta installation from vivint. a) the 30 minute install was actually more like 2 hours. and b) they completely messed up all of the accesses in the system, even though they swore up and down that it'd be a seamless integration. BUT here's the worst part - after the beta installation, my mobile and web apps no longer worked. I contacted customer service and was told that they apps were down and that they were working on it. Meanwhile, I have no access to add/delete users, unlock my home remotely, or set the alarm without getting out of bed and trudging down 2 flights of stairs in the dark. 4 days later and still...no access. I contact CS again and guess what? The app was never down, the issue was the my remote accesses were "probably accidentally deleted by (me)". So even though I'm the primary admin on the account, the system or the install guy was able to revoke my access to controlling my own damn home. AND the whole 'the apps are down' was a complete and total lie, they were just too lazy to actually do any problem solving. AND they blamed me for doing it. AND every time I have no access (this isn't the first time) and I ask for some kind of refund since this is the service I'm paying for, I'm told that we pay for the monitoring, not the other stuff so no, I'm not getting any money back. When I first had the alarm installed in 2012 when they came to the area, they were great. Great customer service, equipment. Since then, they have gone down hill. My last 3 dealings with them have been awful ! And todays experience was ridiculous. I was on the phone to cancel my service for 65 minutes! On hold 2 separate occasions for 60 mins!! The first specialist Chris, answered my call, I told him I wanted to cancel. He said he would have to look at my account and then tossed me back in the hold queue, at apparently the back of the line as I stayed on hold for another 35 minutes when a different specialist answered and took her literally 5 minutes to assist me. read more

After talking with at least six representatives from their company (including supervisors) and two technicians, my issues have yet to be resolved. I called Vivint because their cheap keypad door lock isn't remotely locking (tech has been out for this once before btw) and to have a technician come out this time they want to charge me 49.00??? Is it not enough that I pay 49.00 per month for service I'm obviously not being provided beings the lock is not doing its job. Then when I express my concern for this charge I hear dead silence. I've worked at a call center before and never did I act that way when faced with a concerned customer. She then offers me a discount. I declined it. I should not have to pay for their system malfunctioning, I pay for services every month, that should be enough. As soon as my contract is up I will never do business with them. Had my smart home securuty system pulled out because Vivint REFUSED TO "HONOR" what their sales rep. (who speaks for their company) told me only a few weeks before over the phone! Even with my DETAILED NOTES of the conversation. Furthermore I was told even if they took the time to fi d our "recorded co creation THEY STILL WOULD NOT HONOR THEIR SPOKEN WORD! I only found out about this place because they had a salesman walking through the neighborhood. Normally I don't take soliciting, but he had a laminated paper of their products and one of them was a camera, which I knew my husband had been contemplating.. So I talked with him more. It turns out they would install two cameras and connect to my existing alarm system (ADT) for free. We schedule a meeting the next day. Within 20 minutes the installer showed up and completed his work and gave us an instructional lesson. The system is great because they have an app for your phone and remote access from your computer when you are away. It offers all that ADT plus and Comcast offer, but at a much lower price. I would definitely chose them over other companies. When an alarm goes off, the system automatically starts recording so you can view it later. We couldn't be more happier. I have to agree with the second reviewer that this company is the worst. If I could give them a zero, I would. I too talked to them several times on the phone and they lied and said whatever they thought would get the customer off the phone. We sold our house and the new buyers agreed to take over the contract. I contacted Vivint 2 months before the close date of the house to find out what steps we needed to take. On the day of closing, both the new owners and I talked with Vivint on the phone to make the change. We were told they would not transfer the account until a tech came out to the house to change the codes (this was news to me) and the tech could not be scheduled until 2 months later. In the mean time, we, not the new home owners, have complete access to the security system. Vivint is continuing to charge us. I talked with Vivint reps several times to move up the date and they lied and said an earlier date was scheduled - but that was completely untrue. They refuse to make any changes to the date even though it would take a tech a very short time to make that adjustment once at the house. They said if, for some reason, the alarm goes off, we are still responsible and would be contacted, even though we do not live at the house and have no idea how to respond. Twice we were told we would be credited for the 2 months of payments - that has not happened and we continue to have our credit card billed. They are the very definition of the word shyster. By the way, on BBB, where Vivint has a status of F, there is an alert for this company. Attorney Generals for Arkansas, Wisconsin, Kansas, Ohio and Nebraska have filed actions against the company.
