The first time it was middle of winter and several outlets on the same circuit had gone out, they diagnosed and got the problems fixed quickly and spent the rest of the 1 hour min looking at other areas of the house and answering any questions I had, Matt always has good advice. This year I needed an outdoor outlet added outside of a daylight basement. I'd hoped that it could be done cleanly inside and out (without any extra holes, wall plate, raised wiring, etc.) but didn't know if that was possible. Watching them feed wire upward from an inside outlet to a couple feet higher to above the concrete, sneak it outboard to kind of a 2nd wall where Matt had drilled the opening was Amazing! Matt cut out the rectangular opening for the "bubble cover outlet" and caulked around it perfectly, all within an hour.

Smoke detectors: Tec. info was not provided until I asked for it. Was told a "heat" detector would be placed just outside the kitchen so smoke from cooking would not set it off. WRONG.They installed a a standard smoke detector that alarmed the first time we fried a fish. That got replaced with a heat unit. The App: The console lists all sensors as it should. The App lists only non burglary sensors but includes one of two gas sensors. Why? Still waiting for an answer. All this in two months. I'm surprised they are still in business. Wish I could get my money back. The key box: Made in China and instructions writter by a Chinese person who spent 10 mins. in the US. I rewrote the whole thing in correct English and gave it to the salesman. ARRG.

They knew every last random detail about houses like ours, did impeccable handiwork, and were fabulous communicators. On top of that, they wore masks every second they were inside the house without even mentioning it. Their after hours emergency house calls *are* expensive (which they very clearly explained!) We figured out together, while he stayed extremely calm, that a battery was burned out. I went to to a grocery store to buy a new one, even calling him from that store to make sure I was buying the right battery. Then I called him from a ladder in my shop, and he explained exactly how to replace the battery and reset the alarm. I am SO GRATEFUL for this assistance, and for Jaspyr's calm and reassuring manner. Shopkeepers live in terror that we will be burglarized, and a properly set alarm, maintained by a company that cares, staffed by experienced and kind technicians, is essential to running a bricks and mortar shop. Jaspyr understands all that, and I am very appreciative of his assistance, which took about two hours from start to finish. I used the bid request feature on Yelp and Jessica from First Day electric was one of the first to respond. She was quick to arrange an estimate inspection. Ryan, her husband and the electrician arrived for the inspection at the scheduled time and gave an estimate which included the cost of drywall repair. After getting quotes from multiple companies, Ryan's quote was the most reasonable and included repair work for the dry wall which others were not offering. I couldn't have been more pleased with the work he has done. I would recommend him and First Day Electric because: 1. I was impressed with how punctual and professional Ryan was before, during and after the work. He arrived on time, explained everything clearly, did a neat job and was spot on with all his estimates and projections on time needed to do the work 2. The installation as well as the dry wall repair was super neat. He chose a path for the wiring through the attic and closets, and did a super neat job of fixing it. 3. The good: We had oil heating that went bad and they were…read moreable to put in a heat pump and rip out the existing furnace, hook up the new unit to the central ducting and run lines outside to the unit. We haven't had an issue with the unit since install 1.5 years ago. The bad: The workers put their food on our clothes that were on top of the dryer, staining a pair of jeans with grease. They stained the carpet with the old furnace removal, however paid to have the carpets cleaned and the stains came out - it was inconvenient and another day spent waiting on someone to fix their goof. I had to convince the workers to put the outdoor fan unit on the far side of the house vs where they wanted to put it which was on the other side of our deck's privacy wall. Thank goodness I was adamant here because it would have been SO noisy when it kicks on and we are relaxing on the deck during the summer months. The lines they ran along our house are insulated, but the insulation failed shortly after being installed so now there's tear spots in the black line insulation and looks bad. The lines were also ran poorly. Instead of running them lower along the foundation, they came up around the back door and curved the line to run higher. It's an eye sore plain and simple. We had the install during November so we spent no time outside. Later that spring we noticed how crappy it looked when we were outside more and asked if they could re-run the lines, figuring it would take hardly anything since everything was already in place. I inquired 3+ times about this, even emailing pictures but I was ghosted with no response. You'd think paying $13,500 for a new unit you would get better customer service.... Lastly, they called for a yearly inspection and asked if I'd like to schedule one. I agreed! At the end when I made sure it didn't cost anything, that's when they informed me it would be $200-300 (I can't recall the exact price). I would've been hosed had I not asked. I was shocked at least a few weren't included in this huge purchase. If I could go back I would choose a different company, but that's why hindsight is 20/20. You live and you learn.

Reasonable price Outstanding services! I had services from…read moreCode Mechanical for annual maintenance on my old system and I was so impressed that I decided to have them do an estimate on my replacement system. Well, after several estimates from different companies Code Mechanical was the best overall. $1k to $5k below the other companies for the same or similar equipment. A few of the other estimates included service contracts and additional add Ons that I did not ask for. Normally that's okay to offer but not as part of the main estimate (should have been presented apart from the main system estimate). I felt they were trying to get me to accept an estimate with add Ons and services I did not ask for. Felt dishonest and aggressive. Scheduling the install was easy the entire process was great. Code Mechanical also did all of the work to submit my rebate to my local power company, and it was submitted on the same day the unit install was completed and I was provided the tracking number for the rebate status. I also had interaction via email and phone with the main office staff, and everyone offered to provide any assistance or information I needed. This is true customer service when you contact a company, and its management reaches out to you and offers assistance and support for your project. They cover a large area and considering they are about 40 minutes away from my home I was able to contract them for my project. Meaning they beat all of the local companies estimates which is impressive considering they have to travel so far to provide the services. Highly recommended. Estimates are free and so it's worth the time to get a few - just make sure to include Code Mechanical as in my opinion they were the best of "five estimates". I had estimates for over one week and after reviewing all of them and checking on the companies, only Code Mechanical rose to the top. To be honest I felt the other companies were giving large estimates due to the federal and local rebates and so it appeared they wanted to charge more because the rebates made the cost look better. My estimate from Code Mechanical did not reflect "outside rebates" in the estimate cost section. They just noted that the system qualified for these rebates on the bottom of the estimate so I would know. That's what I call being honest about the true cost of the system replacement. I provided a lot of information in this review as I did my research and took the time to have several companies provide estimates and so it's all about the entire process of hiring a contractor and finding the best one for your needs. Code Mechanical is the best.
