Updating my review to 4 stars, Vivint came back and resolved my issue to my satisfaction. I am happy that they took care of things and showed me that they appreciated me as a customer. I will go back to recommending them without hesitation. read more

If I could give them zero stars, sure as heck would. When I originally signed up, they said I had two weeks to cancel. I canceled within two days every representative, I spoke to every time I called, every couple of days, told me my account was not active. They lied every time, even the supervisor. When I finally received a cancellation confirmation, they charged me and continued to charge me for months. The only good thing I can say is that some supervisor finally looked into it and canceled it and someone else finally looked into the billing and made that stop. That was the only thing they were efficient in. I find that this company is not a company I can trust or that is truthful. I would NEVER recommend it to anyone. I feel they only want that subscription that brings in the money. read more

I have been a loyal Vivint customer for approximately eight years. I purchased my original security cameras outright and replaced them with newer cameras in June 2026. Since the replacement, I have repeatedly requested that Vivint replace or upgrade my control panel because it frequently disconnects from the cameras, causing ongoing reliability issues. Despite multiple service visits arranged through the local Norwalk field office, the problem has not been resolved. The technicians who were sent were unable to permanently fix the issue, and my requests to replace the panel were denied. Additionally, I discovered that my warranty had been canceled without my knowledge or authorization. I am requesting an explanation for why this occurred and documentation showing when and why the warranty was removed. I am also concerned about inaccurate information that appears to have been documented following one service appointment. A technician reportedly informed his supervisor that he felt he was in danger because of my 13-month-old, 6-pound Maltese dog barking. At no time did I or anyone in my household threaten or endanger the technician. I believe this report was inaccurate, and I am disappointed that management relied on it without contacting me to hear my account before making decisions regarding my service. As an eight-year customer, I expected my concerns to be investigated fairly and addressed professionally. Instead, I have experienced unresolved technical issues, poor customer service, and what I believe was an unfair handling of my account. I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, court for discrimination, and am requesting that Vivint: * refund full for my new cameras and monthly charges per Leia who's handling the case after reporting to BBB. * Explain why my warranty was canceled without my authorization and restore it if appropriate. * Review the technician's report and correct any inaccurate information in my customer file. * Provide a fair resolution consistent with the level of service expected by a long-term customer. I am aware that Vivint has been involved in legal litigation in the past. However, my complaint is based solely on my personal experience, discrimination, falsely accusing and the issues I have encountered with my account and service. read more

Vivint Smart Home - Returned - in fed-ex label - Security Systems Near Me

I'm not a fan! When it works it's fine but they over promise and under deliver Alarm goes off and hard to get a hold of anyone read more

This company can't be improved. They are scammers. Do not buy anything from them. I paid off my system and they kept charging me the same price. Customer service is the worst ever. On a scale of 1 to 10 as a business an 1 rating would be and overstatement. They suck read more

Vivint is hands down the worst company I've ever dealt with. I paid thousands for a "professional" security system and got cameras that barely work, constant outages, and the most frustrating customer service I've ever experienced. Every month--like clockwork--I'm stuck troubleshooting for almost an hour. And of course, they expect me to fix it while they sit on the phone reading from a script. If you want someone to actually come fix the mess they installed? Get ready to be charged again. It's ridiculous. They overcharge for equipment that doesn't work and then refuse to take any responsibility. You're basically paying a premium for stress and wasted time. They also trap you in these insanely long contracts. If their product was actually any good, they wouldn't have to lock people in. But they do--because most people would leave if they had the option. And let's be real--there's no way their positive reviews are legit. This company is so bad it feels like a scam. Either they're fake or written before things fell apart. I regret signing up with them and I wouldn't wish this experience on anyone. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from Vivint. read more

Vivint Smart Home - This is what my back cameras constantly look like - Security Systems Near Me

THe abosolute worst I agree with the other reviewer, I wished I never hired these clowns, THEY ARE THE WORST. They make sure they get their money than they drop any efforts. 1. The technician could not finish so said I will be back in a few days...its been 12. 2. One of the outdoor cameras installed has never worked. 3. The inside control panel is constantly cycling between on of off, every 5 minutes. 4. After several calls and texts between the technician no one has showed up. PLEASE READ THIS AND DO NOT HIRE THEM I am stuck with a 3 year contract with this horrible company and If I could get out of it I would immediatelly. Considering legal It is amazing how home security has become a home nightmare. read more

A salesperson from this company came to my house last week and asked to see my current security system. I said okay, thinking it'd be quick, but he ended up coming inside, sitting at my dining table while I was literally in the middle of eating dinner with a guest, and kept trying to sell me for over an hour even though I told him multiple times I wasn't interested. I already have a system that I just installed a few months ago. I made it clear that I would only consider switching if it actually made sense, but there was no real benefit and I wasn't going to pay more for something that didn't add value. He kept pushing anyway and even tried to downplay my current setup like it was useless just to sell his system. Then today, another rep from the same company came back, ignored my "No Soliciting" sign AND my doorbell cover, and tried to say I was "interested" last time but just concerned about the price, which is not true at all. I clearly said no. The whole experience felt really pushy and invasive. I would not recommend dealing with them. read more

Customer service has gone from bad to worse. Clearly the people in charge don't recognize that if you don't treat your customers well, they won't come back and they won't recommend. They no longer have easy to access help or support and the online support function, when available, is staffed by low cost overseas support with poor wifi connections and poor English. read more

I would give it ZERO stars if I could. I can't believe I did not read these beforehand. My big mistake :( Walk up Sales Rep Ethan, had a good friendly rapport to get your guard down, fast talking brochure waving discussion and no formal estimate or breakdown provided. Fast to process lengthy Doc-Sign and afterwards you see the exorbitant cost of the equipment. DVR for cameras must be made of Gold...never seen it so must simply be a memory chip inside the console. I can just imagine down the road when the hardware breaks...hours more on the phone for no results STAY AWAY - direct Ethan off your property immediately!!!! Multiple hits on my credit report also. Several promised services un-installable by tech including could not talk to T-Mobile WiFI which required hard wiring a router and could not communicate w HVAC Many hours on phone to get costs adjusted Worst was "buy-out" of existing provider never came through after multiple calls and emails w Isaac at customer care. read more

Horrible, Horrible, Horrible!!!!! After 10 years as a loyal customer, my equipment has started to fail. After hours on the phone, I was finally referred to a manager named Summer in St. Louis--and she was absolutely no help whatsoever. I explained everything to her and asked for her help in resolving the issue, but she was completely callous and showed absolutely no empathy. So disappointing that after 10 years of loyalty, I am now being forced to switch my service to a new company. read more

VIVINT home security is a joke of a security system. Very unreliable, the prices for cameras are outrageous, always telling you , that you need to upgrade to receive faster service. I have been with this security system for 4+years & im lucky that I live in a secure neighborhood because the cameras that I have lack times of the recording or don't even record. No one is helpful from this company. I URGE YOU TO NEVER GET VIVINT HOME SECURITY , they charge you outrageous prices,,, when you can go to another home security system that is more reliable. Because VIVINT AINT IT. read more

Terrible. And to make matters worse, they make it close to impossible to cancel service. When we set our home alarm, it would go off in the middle of the night and when we were away on holiday. When we contacted customer service, they were not only unable to rectify the situation, they actually told us we needed to be home to disengage the alarm rather than being able to do so remotely. Unheard of. Furthermore, we had to have technicians service the system multiple times due to "error" messages on the panel. The sensors constantly showed errors about low batteries and we had to replace multiple sensors throughout our home at very high prices. When we finally called to cancel service, they made it near impossible--calls were dropped right before the supposed final step of a 25 minute call. The next call with customer service was over 30 minutes, at which point I was told they couldn't cancel without speaking to my spouse--perhaps they should have led the call with that information. This happened countless times over the course of weeks. Out of desperation, they kept offering different incentives to remain with the company before transferring us to the next representative and the next representative... Waste of money and time. Look elsewhere. read more

I have contacted the service provider approximately four to five times regarding a recurring issue where the equipment experiences a delay of three to four minutes before notification. Despite these communications, the problem remains unresolved. Furthermore, they have announced a fee of $99 for a technician to address what appears to be their own oversight. Rancho Cucamonga. read more

When I had the system installed I was told the cameras are the best on the market. They are junk. They detect no motion are not any good for recording anything. I tried to get a refund for a dvr playback which is an app that cost over $300 dollars and was told sorry you just passed the 30 refund. The support team has no compassion for the customer. Don't look at this company for service. How are they rated 4.9 by the BBB money talks. read more

This has been, without question, the most unacceptable experience I have ever had with any vendor. The installation was rushed, carelessly executed, and completed well below any reasonable professional standard. The quality of work reflects a serious lack of attention to detail and respect for the customer. Equally concerning was the conduct of the supervisor Jesus Tovar, whose unprofessionalism and failure to respond only compounded an already poor situation. After attempting to address these issues directly through calls and messages, I received no meaningful response. To make matters worse, when I attempted to complete the customer survey and provide honest negative feedback regarding my experience, the system conveniently removed me from the survey before I could submit it, and the link was no longer valid afterward. This only adds to the impression that customer concerns are neither welcomed nor properly addressed. Given the substandard workmanship, lack of accountability, poor customer service, and now an apparent inability to openly receive criticism, I have lost all confidence in this company's ability to fulfill its obligations. As a result, I believe canceling this contract is fully justified. read more

Wish I read reviews before I received Vivint smart home! This is almost laughable! We called to cancel our subscription and they made it absolutely impossible. Kept my husband on the line for over an hour. Would not get the supervisor even though we asked over 15 times!!!! read more

I am a Vivint customer for the past 6 years. when I decided to go with a different company, they offered me things that it was too good to be true. In other words they lied to me. LISTEN CLOSELY DO NOT DO IT!!!! ( revised) I left ADT and My equipment was paid off. This company kept emailing me talking about a buyout that I don't need because my equipment is already paid off With ADT I was only paying for the use of the service at the time. I received a knock on the door. Big mistake. I should have known he as crooked when he acted like he didn't hear me speaking on my at the time ring camera. The sales guy knew when he came in my home that he was not doing the right things. The equipment is high quality but there's a lot of features that are missing window sensors and in order to get them You have to buy extra equipment from them. I was not feeling well the day the salesman came over and I told him and he still pursued. He asked If I have a freeze on my credit I told him yes he asked for my phone because I was in pain and was moving slowly. He didn't advise he was running my credit. I wish at that point I was denied then I would have known what he did which is got me stuck paying almost $4k for this service and equipment. I received the bill after 30 days so I couldn't cancel, but if I could, I would have. I told his sneaky, dishonest self I would report this if I find out he was being dishonest He should've told me that he was running my credit about how much the equipment would cost and give me an option. The technician was nice. I have no complaints about him at all. He's the most honest out of all of the employees with this company as far as the installation. do not use this company inless u thorou check them out. I had ADT and I could've just upgraded my equipment and been fine with that. It's my fault for not doing a better job of checking reviews as I normally do before I went with this company, but now that you see mine, please make sure that you DO NOT use them. I put my system on away. It's supposed to detect movement in the house and it does not. I'm sure that would be an upgrade too and to add window sensors they tell you after the installation so you can pay extra for that too. This company price gouges that's just it. Find one of their competitors and go with them. I don't see how this companies gonna last. read more

This security company is a joke, they pay their sales people way more than the camera's cost because they know once they got you, you're will be paying on the system forever. My 82 year old mother tried to cancel her system after having it for 19 years and numerous upgrades she told CS she is moving into an elderly home and they wouldn't cancel after she explained she couldn't have it at her house anymore and can't afford it after my father died. Was on the phone with them for 30 minutes and she was transferred twice to different people to persuade her to stay with their $60 month fee. She kept telling them to cancel but they still didn't. She had to call her credit card company to block them. Also, if you are reading this, she knows s kid in her area who is 19 who works for the company and he ended up making a lot of money within 5 months of working for them, they go door to door in Texas and lie to people to get them to sign contracts as quick as possible. He is now getting his friends to work for them, Its a pyramid scheme, you get other d2d sales under you to force people to buy and the cameras and system are shit! DO NOT BUY!! They are selling hard in Texas right now. Be careful!! read more

This company is HORRIBLE! I've been with them since 2021 and have had many issues. My doorbell stopped working after 1 year, had to purchase a new one, decided to pay for the capability to rewind ($300 extra) and it worked maybe two times in the past 2 1/2 years. The equipment is bad, always buffering. Finally decided to cancel because I knew I had to have my equipment paid off first. Call to cancel on a Saturday, but they don't work Saturdays so called on Monday. On the phone for 2 hours to cancel, of course they offered $5 off a month to stay, after talking to 4 people they told me I owed $469 to cancel and I have to pay the next month because they have a 30 day cancellation policy. After a long debate, because it doesn't say anywhere in the contract what the early termination fee is, I paid the extortion fee. And get this, I asked for a confirmation email of my cancellation after I paid, they said I'll get it in 30 days!! WTF!? Avoid at all cost, the cost of this service is no where close to the value and I'd never recommend to anyone! PS I also let them know I recorded the whole call because I don't trust their unfair business practices. read more

Worst company I have ever dealt with Do Not use them. Had Vivint 3 years ago. Almost impossible to cancel when sold house. Stupid me was talked into using them again in my new home and it would be different. Even worst this time after sold recent house. I'm talking to them for the fourth time in 3 month. I'm on hold again as I'm typing this message I've been transferred around and I've been on phone for 30 minutes. I told them I'm late to work and I've been sitting on hold. ZERO STARS - For the 4th time break in, I am still holding on the phone from their out sourced "help". I was never notified that there were people on my cameras "lingering" as they say...neighbors called the police, not this security. Amazing. One pays for the equipment, installation and then this. Their installation people are amazing. But the emergency calls are outsourced and they don't have an understanding what is going on. They are polite. But still on hold for 40 minutes without anyone coming back on line. Again, this is the 4th break in. Zero stars. Complete failure of a system; equipment doesn't work and deceptive (at best) customer service. See the various lawsuits against this company by various state agencies and others. https://www.reuters.com/legal/vivint-hit-with-1897-mln-verdict-stealing-security-rivals-customers-2023-02-17/ My 78 year old father installed this high end system from your Vivint - among its features are glass break detection and motion sensors, in addition to others. Those features, and the system as a whole, was a complete failure when the home was broken into. A neighbor saw that the front gate was open and thus investigated - that's how we found out. Several window panes were shattered, the burglar then walked across the living room and apparently smashed the Vivint panel. Worse yet, my dad was out of town with me so we had to deal with the police, neighbors, and company to board up the windows - remotely. Most ridiculous is that phone app showed that the system was still armed! There was NO notice from the company that this had happened. In fact, the alarm hadn't even been triggered - the technical support team had no record of it being triggered and no answers as to why not or what happened. The police were even perplexed. And then, as part of "resolutions," they send incompetent technicians who actually SOLD my dad more useless equipment - sneaky sales guy that did nothing to determine why the system failure occurred. And maybe the cherry on the whole thing, the likely reason I was given that the alarm wasn't triggered was that the system wasn't connected properly - and yet they wouldn't refund the montoring fees (they obviously weren't monitoring anything without the proper connection). All they stand by is their limitation of liability which they will point out to you every 15 seconds. Pathetic. read more
