What a disaster! I asked to be put in a monthly deduction from checking account. gave all my info…read moreto the rep. Well, several weeks pass and I try to access my system through the app. Access denied! I call cpi and was told closed due to non payment. huh? I took care of autopay weeks ago. charging me late fees and threatening me with collections. Not to mention the issues I had with them from the get go.I spent hours of wasted time on the phone with unprofessional reps who couldn't tie their own shoes. They are a shrewd team of crooks. please don't entertain the thought of dealing with thieves. unscrupulous business practices. worse I've ever seen

I find it despicable that CPI Security Systems, based out of Columbia, SC would employ sales reps…read moresuch as Jason Gaines and Eric Smith who would LIE and DECEIVE uniformed service members into contracts. Specifically, Eric Smith informed myself and others that CPI Security was running promotions to NOT mandate contract timelines (such as signing up for 39 mos, 48 mos, 60 mos... etc..) only for the company to inform the member "Well that is untrue but it's too late, you're under contract." Additionally, both sales reps informed me that "Uniformed Members who get put on official assignment out of the area can cancel their contract at no cost." That was also A LIE! And to follow it up, when I call to cancel service that I've had at TWO.. not one, but TWO residences, I'm given a different "buyout" amount, if you will, by 4..... FOUR different customer service representatives who all had different "contract requirements" they claim I was under. What in the hell kind of company would LIE TO THE FACES of service members, and then hold steady on those lies and then be so inept at running the day to day operations that their own billing and customer service agents are not anywhere on the same page when it comes to rectifying any situations? If this company cannot even get simple billing and information right, why on earth would anyone hire them to protect their homes via their security services? This company acts as if it your best friend until you don't agree or simply wish to move on in your life at which point they will throw you under the bus and cover up any lies or misinformation that was passed to you. CPI Columbia, SC should be ashamed at how their branch is being run and again, to the sales reps Jason Gaines and Eric Smith, shame on you for pushing lies and taking advantage of service members who YOU KNOW AND WERE TOLD cannot be locked into any contractual agreements as our families are uprooted and moved throughout the country on a consistent basis. And to whoever oversees the entire billing and customer service departments, your employees do not communicate, do not understand and remedial training should be conducted immediately due to their constant display of miscommunication and unacceptable service levels.

I called this MX Security to get my doorbell back online because all my other cameras was working…read morein my house. I spoke to a rep name Gloria she stated that a technician have to come out to fix the doorbell. I told her it was offline all they need to do is reset it. She gave me the run around and said that was the only option it was in to fixing my doorbell. We scheduled the appointment the technician came to my house. Look at the app on my phone called someone from the office and resetted my doorbell. Come to find out they had update in the company that knocked my doorbell camera offline. Why did I have to pay for this. I ask the technician was this something they could have done at the office. He stated yes. Soon as the technician left MX Security called me. I asked them why am I paying for something the could have fixed at the office. The response was I scheduled for a technician to fix the doorbell and I have to $99 it. I told them I wouldn't have scheduled it if they could have been fixed over the phone they said that was the only option. Then the 1st sent me the Gloria who scheduled the appointment. She was a very unprofessional rep. She told me I knew about the $99 fee and they wasn't refunding me the money. I told her that was fine. At this point I was furious because I was going back and forth with this lady that seem like she was arguing with me. I told her that I want the address because now I want to file a complaint. I pay $60 a month to have adequate security system up and running. And to have someone tell me if I didn't pay $99 I have to have only part of my system working for 4 years. This is a terrible company to invest in. They don't have their customers interest at heart. Please be aware of what security companies you choose for your home. I wish the rating could be lower than a 1.

Only because I couldn't give it zero stars! Byron Sill, a rep for North Star Monitoring, is the…read moremost unprofessional person that I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. I called to cancel service on the second day after his technician, Billy Kennell who apparently works for MX Security came and installed faulty equipment. He was very rushed, seemed agitated and left my home with work unfinished. After attempting to contact Billy after he had told me he would come back the next day but didn't, I contacted Chris Poole, the sales rep to find out what was going on and find a common time for the technician to return. After getting the run-around, I received a text from his technician, Bill Kennell that was intended to go to his sales rep, Chris. Basically it said he hated customers like her (me) and would fuc***** reschedule his life to come install equipment that works. Mind you they had already pulled 60.00 out of my account and I was a customer desiring working equipment. Needless to say there was a lot of butt-kissing and Billy apologized for the text and said it was meant to go to Chris. I decided that I no longer wanted to do business after this text came to me by mistake. I called Byron, the owner of a North Star affiliated company and said that I wanted to cancel and forwarded him the text. He claimed this was not a rep that he typically used and apologized. He said he understood and would shred my contract, pick up his equipment and forget it ever happened if I decided that was what I wanted to do. He told me to think about it and let him know the next day. So here we are, the third day. I call and decide that I do indeed want to cancel. I also tell him that I want my 60.00 refund. He claims that since they monitored for 2 days that I may not get it back so I did tell him it was in his best interest to refund my money or I would put it on social media especially my neighborhood where they are targeting people. He became very aggressive and stated that he would see to it that I could not get out of the contract. I asked for North Stars corporate office phone number and he refused to give it to me. The conversation ended with him saying, "find it yourself, bit**" and hung up the phone. After calling North Star, they were mortified and stated that legally under federal law, I could break the contract up to 3 days after instillation without any financial obligation and the money should be returned. So thank you, North Star Corporate Office. Too bad you have such slimeballs representing you. I have been an educator for 10 years. This is how I teach my students NOT to act or conduct business. ***I would be more than happy to email a screen shot of his vulgar text to this company.
