I had high hopes when I booked my appointment with Liz, especially after our lengthy consultation. Unfortunately, the experience quickly turned into a 6 hour ordeal. The heating wasn't working, the water was freezing, and the person doing my blow-dry was excessively rough with my hair. The end result was far from what I had envisioned. When I went to pay, I asked to speak with Dianna, who was nearby, but she did not come over. Despite multiple calls and a follow-up appointment where I was assured Dianna would be present, she was absent yet again. Another stylist attempted to fix my hair, and though I left on a good note (even tipping the stylist), the next day revealed a total disaster. Over the past 5 weeks, I've had 3 trims and used the best products available, but my hair now looks burnt and dry. The hair fall is the worst I've ever experienced. I'm heartbroken as I write this - no one deserves such a distressing experience. I have attached the products that I am using for reference aswell. Update: 2 weeks since I posted my review but no response at all because they genuinely don't care!! Just started PRP and steroids for my head with my dermatologist yesterday. An update from my last year experience as I'm in current hunt for new stylist as I grew out my hair. Went in expecting to walk out with perfect balayage as I always did. Service takes quite a bit of time but that's expected if you want your hair to stay on your head after the bleach. However something happened during wash that didn't get me feeling great. Another stylist came up looked through my hair sectioned off specific part and told my initial stylist "W** is that" she went oops and grabbed more toner and made me sit longer so I didn't really gave it too much thought. A week later I ended up with half dark head ..... after two washes for about 600 plus tip Experience after that just dried up my hair to the point of no return, so sorry as it was a great place for blond gals. read more

I've been going to Diana since 2014. She is truly a hair god -- she is able to take my black hair and transform it to a beautiful Californian beach blonde color and has always kept my hair healthy. I've lived in LA for the past 5 years and I still fly home to get my hair colored by her. I love that she does low maintenance hair color which means I can go see her in 3 months or 6-8 months and my hair will still be grown out in a way that looks good which is important when colouring black hair to lighter. She is so good at blending the hair color that I never feel like I need to touch up my roots, it grows out so seamlessly. I've also never had a hair colorist educate me on after hair care to maintain the color until I met Diana. She shows me which products I can use at home to keep up with the maintenance of the color so it doesn't turn brassy. The last few years I've been getting clip in extensions from her as well and they are coloured perfectly to match my own hair. Highly recommend Vivid Salon! Never going to stop coming here read more

Poor customer service, unfriendly staff, overpriced, color wasn't what I asked for (I had shared sample photos)

I'm rating this place as a new customer I was a bit dissapointed. I had my hair done about a week ago. First it took over 6 months to book an appointment secondly the customer service really needs revamping. I had my hair done with Diana and cut by Joudy (who is btw awesome and really has amazing customer service etiquettes) but paying the price I paid, yes I agree with other reviewers I got asked if I wanted water or coffee but they didn't eventually bring me anything until much later. My hair was being done by students that was pulling my balayage tease to the point where I ended up getting a migraine. I noticed the consultations on instagram are very different, I was not given that same type of consultation or treatment when I arrived there. I really think the focus is put on specific people on Instagram which can b deceiving. I really had high hopes and expectations for this place. I paid $1585.00 for my hair the MOST EXPENSIVE I've ever paid and not even offered tea coffee water or a magazine? really you operate on making so much money off people but can't uphold that for customers? I had a baby shower to go to next day my hair was flat not even styled when that's what I asked for. everyone at the shower asked me about my experience and I was honest. I've been to salons in NY, Miami and high end ones and not paid that high but more so the service even at your shell local salons are so much better at least you get treated equally and don't have to be worried if you don't fit in just because you don't own a Gucci brand item because that's the vibe I got. There are other stylists there who are good they I noticed. Secondly when a new customer gives you business, make it a point to check on their hair when they are done, ask them how they like it and how their service was instead the owner didn't even acknowledge that. I don't think I will like to come back here because to me customer service is EVERYTHING and if your operating a business and think you made it, and don't care about your customers think again because it's all word of mouth and reviews that will bring it down. I hope they work on these things. I don't want to be contacted either I'm just giving my honest opinion I hope this salons treats everybody fairly and really looks into their prices I did not feel like I paid over a $1,000 for services. read more

Not worth it at all! This was my second time going to Vivid for a hair color and cut. First time around they did a decent job. This time, they totally fried my hair off! I was passed onto multiple people during my 8 hours there! I asked for a subtle color and all I got was bleached hair. I said to check on me very soon but they came after 1 hour. This terrible experience was like 8 hours torture for me. Diana brush an color your her brutally. This lady seems really sick. She behaved with your hair like a psycho! She kept me on sink for over 1.5 hour! I was dying from neck pain! I went there and asked for blonde balyage and end up with darker root of my own natural hair with damaged, fried , greenish highlights. She said you cant be that blond because your hair will be broken and I accepted it and the final result is a damaged over processed hair that is falling like hell and a greenish Balyage! I spent 1300CAD that she multiple times pull my hair and do her best to destroy it! I am so sorry for the moments I tolerate in her salon and didnt tell anything to her! But let me add that she is perfect in one thing: deceiving people with her Instagram photos! Let me add that I had natural hair and didnt do anything for two years! DON'T GO HERE. I called vivid to book an appointment for a subtle beige balayage feeling excited since I hadn't touched my hair for over two years. I came in with the ideal hair, healthy, long and a natural medium brown colour. They're reputable and showcased their work beautifully on IG and I really wanted to treat myself after having a baby. The stylist greeted me and was polite enough at first but did not engage in conversation and was cold at times. I showed her my inspiration photo and she told me that I would have to come back for another session to get the colour I wanted. I didn't understand that as I had achieved bright blonde in one session with my previous stylist several times. Skeptical, I asked her to show me a photo of what I could expect her to do. She pulled up a photo that was drastically different than what I had asked for. I understand that clients can have unrealistic expectations sometimes but this was far from the case, they've posted way more drastic transformations on their IG. I was extremely anxious at this point and should have trusted my gut and left but they already had me sign an agreement. It was closer to the evening once she began removing the foils and the receptionist wanted to close the til so she blowdried the front of my hair to reveal the colour so that I could pay in full before my hair was complete. The front of my hair looked nice enough so I paid and included a tip for "good" service. It wasn't until my hair was fully blowdried that I noticed the inconsistency in the colour. I had a few golden pieces closer to what I had asked for in the front but very ashy bleach blonde on the ends. I had expressed that I didn't want any ash in my hair during the consultation so I was pretty upset when I realized that after paying $800 I didn't only not get what I asked for but that it was also POORLY done. I had a lot of yellow brass in my root as well which I had to point out and ask her to fix twice. I don't understand how a place this reputable can allow a client to walk out of their salon with yellow brass tones in their roots. She then began to cut my hair, I had explained that I wanted to keep my length and add long round face framing layers to my hair since she didn't want to see my inspiration photos. I expected all of their senior stylists to know how to cut hair at the very minimum and it didn't look professionally cut at all. The face framing pieces were extremely choppy. I asked her to fix the choppy-ness and blend the layers but she told me she would have me come back to have my hair fixed by someone else. Considering I have a 3 month old baby at home I found this pretty frustrating. I received a phone call from management the next day and voiced my concerns but felt very dismissed. Once I came back to "fix" my hair I was greeted by the same stylist. She toned my roots and shampooed my ends which did nothing. The owner then came to speak to me and asked me to show a photo of what I had asked for originally. She then directed the stylist to add more colour to my hair to deepen the inconsistent ash blonde pieces. She told me everyone was saying I was crazy and that my hair looked great which would be fair enough if it was what I asked for. Good from far but far from good. They had another stylist cut my hair. Once my hair was blowdried I felt the colour was a bit better and that the layers looked good. It wasn't until I washed my hair at home that I realized how choppy and unblended my layers were when not styled. I guess my only option now is to grow out my hair again. The next time i get my hair done I will do more research and not go to someone just because they present really well on Instagram. I have been reading very similar reviews. I wouldn't have a problem with paying $800 for my hair if I had gotten something close to what I asked for-I do understand the product and labour that goes into hair. I hate to leave bad reviews and debated doing it at all but this experience was unacceptable and I would hate for anyone else to be in my shoes. read more

I usually go in with no make up, in sweats and I leave feeling like a model. I won't let anyone else touch me, point blank. Disappointed. Much like others, I found this place from their TikTok/Instagram posts that were seemingly great. I have been there twice, won't be going back. The salon lacks organization, positive culture, and professionalism. You feel like a number rather than a valued client. When I arrived at the salon for the first time, I wasn't greeted at all--even the receptionist looked at me but kept doing other things. I smiled and walked up to the counter and was still ignored & left standing there in the entrance with no welcome for several minutes feeling awkward as there are no seats or waiting area. Diana wanted to film the consult & appointment for her Instagram and brought out the camera, but I politely declined saying I wasn't a big social media person and prefer to keep my account & photos of myself private. I was questioned as to why I don't want to do this to the point where I felt uncomfortable having to explain myself in front of other clients and I felt very much like a second rate client once I declined. Not everyone wants social media exposure. Some people truly just want to take a break from their busy lives to get their hair done and feel good about that. When I was showing her my hair inspiration pictures she took my phone, opened my instagram and searched for herself to follow her account. A lot of time was spent on self promotion rather than listening to my needs/concerns. When at the sink while the colour was processing, my scalp was burning to the point I had tears rolling down my face. When washing out my foils, it was extremely painful and it felt like they were just ripping them out and they scrubbed my scalp with their long artificial nails to the point where it was beet red. They were not gentle and there were colour deposits splashed all over my face and water running down my back (the water was a complaint that 2 other people made outloud during my visit as well). I was told I need to come back a second time to receive optimal results so I decided to give the benefit of the doubt and trust the process. This was my mistake as the second visit was far worse and was still told at the end of the 2nd visit I need to come back a 3rd time for "best results". I am patient but this feels like a money grab scheme to get you to come back by not fully doing what you ask for. My appointment was for 8AM and despite me showing up 10 minutes early after travelling 1 hour to get there, I was seen 1.5 HOURS LATE! No one even acknowledged my presence or my long wait time. Only at the 1 hour mark was I offered water. A client who showed up 20 minutes after me was even seen before me while Diana simultaneously worked on her and another client she was behind on before she finally came to me. The consult was rushed and in the end my concerns were not even addressed. You can hear the employees all whispering at the sink as if something is wrong but none of them communicate anything to you. When my hair started being blow dried, they realized they used the wrong colour and I had to go back to the sink so they could fix it. The water soaked my shirt all the way through due to lack of care once again. Then with my head still soaking wet and no towel given to me, I was told to get up from the sink so another client could sit there. I had to wait 10 minutes before I could finally get someone to get a towel or tell them I was in pain. I spent 10 years bleaching my hair as a blonde and kept it healthy, thick, long and my hair has never looked worse or seen as much damage than it has from just 2 trips to this salon. My appointment took the better part of 6 hours and I left with it just rough dried because they were 4 hours behind. My hair is FRIED and won't stop falling out As far as the price point, as someone who is willing to pay hundreds of dollars on a regular basis for my hair, even I was a bit shocked the initial appointment was over $850 without tip. I would not have been upset about the price if they matched the level of customer service that warrants such an exorbitant price. But to shell out that much to have my hair fried, feel embarrassed/awkward by the snitty employees & receptionist, and otherwise be ignored...it's a terrible feeling. I've been to salons that charge less than half of that and gotten service with a smile, coffee/champagne and attentiveness to my needs. You pay the insane price to book with Diana because of her supposed level of expertise but are passed around the salon to 3 or 4 other people instead of her. She will leave you with half finished colour applied to disappear for 10 minutes running around the salon doing other things not paying attention to you before she comes back, instead of making you her sole focus...which at over $850 your client should 100% be your sole focus. But again, they are focused on making more money rather than caring about YOU. Unfortunately I will not be going back and need to find someone to fix the brassy orange brunette colour I was left with. read more

I found Diana like many others, on Instagram. I knew she taught colour theory and judging by her online portfolio, she knows her stuff. I've been twice for balayage, and people frequently ask me about my hair! I've recommended the salon to a few friends, who were very happy with their hair and became repeat clients. Some of the reviews here are fair and some aren't. Yes, Diana does an excellent job. She's very very skilled. Yes, there's no coffee machine and you don't get the same level of cushy service that you would expect from a high end salon. I get it! I've been to places that offered drinks and popcorn. Very cushy indeed. This salon is relatively new, I think maybe a little over a year old. Like any new business it has some growing pains, like the size of the shop, the coffee issue, and the staff to client ratio. I hope Diana will expand, hire more good people, and iron out these kinks eventually. The end product is excellent, but the only thing standing between this salon and a true 5 star experience, is the lack of luxe service. The salon is small and while it never bothered me, I could see how other people wouldn't like it. Yes, I ran into the unpleasant receptionist once or twice on the phone (Diana, this is unacceptable. Fix this immediately if you haven't already), but I've also had some great experiences with receptionists trying to get me into earlier appointments and generally trying to help me out. Yes, parking is a PITA the first time you come here, but afterwards you figure out other nearby lots where parking is free (tip: park on a side street abutting the water, east of the salon. It's free). If you want a quality balayage by a skilled hair artist, you're ok with the price, and you can buy your own coffee, you'll be very happy here. And this is coming from someone who is incredibly picky about everything. Also, always get the haircut when doing balayage. Your ends dry up and split if you don't. I learned this the hard way by getting my haircut at a separate, later date from my balayage. read more

I'd like to start off this review by stating that the colourists and stylists at this salon are very good at what they do, I have no complaints with the quality on that front. What I do have a problem with is the really unfortunately level of customer service, particulrly since you should expect to pay around $600 for a cut and colour. The receptionist that I dealt with was so rude from the moment she picked up the phone, putting me on hold for an extended time then giving me nothing but bad attitude when I was trying to follow-up on a message I left the previous afternoon but was not returned. The fact that the support staff feel they have the right to completely disregard a basic level of customer service and manners led me to cancel my appointment and take my money elsewhere. Sorry Diana, but customer experience is everything. You really need to talk to your reception staff as they are the face of your business and they're doing you a huge disservice with how they treat your hard earned clients. Best of luck. read more

Love this hair salon but I love Kelly there even more! I would follow her anywhere actually but this salon is really clean, spacious and every is really attentive. I find a lot of hair salons are really laid back. They are friendly yet professional from the greeting to the end. I come when I'm in Toronto which is every 6 weeks. I get Jaír extensions with kelly. She places them really close to my head so they last a long time. The hair quality is great and reasonably priced. Kelly also does my colour. My colour is pretty easy since it's just black but I'm always in a rush when I'm in Toronto so she times everything perfectly to get me in and out in an hour and a half with a blow dry! Not an easy task. She applies dye, moves up extensions, then rinses and blow dry. I'm sure all the stylists are great but as long as Kelly is there she's my girl! read more

I went to Vivid for a cut and highlights. It was my 3rd time and my last. I asked that they look at my past record and repeat exactly as done before. The girl applied the foils to my hair and they said she would check on my in 40 minutes. I explained that my hair bleached very quickly and please check on me after 20 min. She was then sent off on her break. After 20 minutes i ask that someone please check on my foils. Someone took out 2 foils and then left me in the chair. I asked the owner Diana to please have someone check on my foils and she explained it was all okay that the "assistant" would check on them. After 1 hour the foils were removed and my hair was fried!!!!!. They proceeded to put a toner on even though I explained that my hair bleached nicely and a toner was not necessary. They toned regardless, they toned ASH even though my hair is strawberry blond. When they saw the mess they created they then proceeded to put a clarifying shampoo on to removed the ASH disaster. They then brought me over to get my hair cut by the "senior Stylist" that actually turned out to be the one previously called an "assistant". After the entire debacle they presented me with a $600 bill to fry my hair and trim the ends. I asked to speak to Diana an owner or a manager to which they responded "no one was available". Since the parking lot has about 15 signs that say reserved for Vivid management and all those spots were filled with management cars it seems rather odd that none were available. I asked to have a manager or owner call me and no surprise no one reached out. I now have fried ashy hair with a lousy cut and I'm out $600 and years of suffering growing out damaged highlights. Absolutely disastrous. Went it for a balayage and haircut appointment. My hair was fried from leaving the bleach on for too long and there was not much of a haircut. There is absolutely no customer service and no sense of establishing a relationship with the client. I am investing in treatments elsewhere to fix my hair now and get a proper haircut. It seemed like a bunch of high schools kids were working and not a group of professionals. Wish I listened to the negative reviews and canceled my appointment. I've been to Vivid Salon a few times now and I have to say that they do an amazing job on your hair and the rating I give for the work on my hair is 4 star - for the price you pay, it's unfortunate they don't do more. I paid close to 700$ for balayage, treatment, cut & style (shoulder length hair)! (Sharon + Chris) I've been to several salons and this one is probably the worse when it comes to customer service - esp. after paying that much! Every time I walk in I usually have to stand at the reception for a bit until someone notices me. Then while I sit and wait, there's no where to really sit?? No waiting area, no water station, no magazines...there's a little nook in the salon where you face a wall. When you finally start - they don't even chat w you very much because they pack in so many clients a day. Diana's in the shop most of the time and I get that she's busy but she not very personable. You truly get the feeling it's more about the image on Instagram than the experience you get in the salon. Yet you're the one in there spending the money. To begin with I wish i could give this salon zero stars if that was an option. I waited over six months to get an appointment based off of Diana's BS 70k followers on instagram. Upon arrival, I was offered no coffee or water and was told to sit in a chair and wait until Diana finished her other appointment. When she got around to me she said right off the bat that she could not get my hair very blonde and she would not touch my hair unless I cut it. She also tried to convince me to go for a darker root as it is low maintenance and told me not to come back to her salon for at least 6 months. I agreed to cut my hair and asked even if she wasn't able to get it to the blonde I wanted, not to make it any darker then the prexisting blonde I already had in my hair. I did NOT want Balayage which i emphasized to her. Not only did this psycho pull my hair as she grabbed new strands to apply dye. She also likes to bash the dye onto your head as if you are a practice dummy. However, she likes to save the best for last when she takes you to the sink to wash your hair and turn it brown with her toner. If you haven't been to her salon you're in for a treat when she rips apart your hair at the sink to get the toner in between hair strands. I like to personally thank Diana for the fantastic!!! results at the end of my six hour torture session with my new brown hair and her 700 dollar price tag. read more

I visited this salon for the first time a couple months ago, just a few weeks before my wedding. Like a lot of people, I was first introduced to Diana and her amazing technique via Instagram, and immediately fell in love with her (and her team's) beautiful work. I knew it was going to be pricy, but if I was ever going to do it, it would be for my big day. I saved up a little extra money and was super excited for a fresh new look. If it turned out even close to what I'd been seeing on Instagram, I knew it was going to be good. When the day finally came, I checked in at reception at the scheduled time, but was told that Diana wasn't ready yet. Okay, I thought - no big deal. So I waited. And waited. 15 minutes passed, then 30. Then 40. I understand that she's a pretty busy gal (they certainly remind you of that there), but it was brutal. I felt completely disrespected, which was only fuelled by the obvious lack of concern from the receptionist. 40 minutes later, she's ready. Diana assesses my situation and takes a closer look at my hair (which takes about 20 minutes total, as every 2 minutes she scurries off to deal with another client or answer a question from another staff member). At this point, I'm seeing red. It's been an HOUR since I walked through the door, and my hair hasn't even been touched. Once Diana began colouring my hair, things went pretty smoothly.... until I got my hair cut and styled. Once my hair was blowdried, I was horrified at what I saw. I had asked for a balayage look, but my hair was straight up ombré, transitioning into a dull beige colour. I was shocked, but didn't want to make a fuss (rookie move) so I went along with it. I had tears in my eyes as I payed nearly $800 for what was easily the most disappointing salon experience of my entire life. I felt duped. I felt angry. And I felt sad, that the hair I'd imagined I'd have for my wedding wasn't even close to what I'd had in mind (and so carefully described to Diana beforehand). The bottom line? This place obviously does beautiful work. Just check out their IG account and see for yourself. But for me, it wasn't worth a THIRD of what I payed - not for that experience. Save your money, ladies! I'm very disappointed with my experience here. in May 2019, I reached out to have a consultation with the Yogacolourist (instgram) and when I came in, i ended up getting refered to a less busy colleague of hers, Kelly. Red flag 1: I knew the quality of the balayage would go down...I had my consult, i showed her my hair and then pictures of what i wanted to achieve and all was well, so I made an appointment for Sept 2019. fast forward, Sept 2019, I show up to my appt, and Kelly looks at my hair, then tells me she can't achieve the balayage look i want, I would have to settle for warm brownish red tones - why? bc she missed to notice some darker hair at the back of my head at the original consult in May 2019. I'm like Huh?? Red Flag 2. I'm here, ready to fork over $350+ and waited 5 months to grow out my hair, now the hair colourist says "oops, I can't do the look". Diana was there, and helped to explain further. In the end, the suggestion was to split the hair apointments into 2 appts ($350 each..!!!) over next 6 months and there was no guarantees. Red Flag 3. NO THANKS!!!!!! I walked out. Very disappointed with the low professionalism, inconvenience and waste of my time and effort. What's the point of the initial consultation in May 2019? read more

There is no question that the colourists and stylists at Vivid are very capable; I have no complaints about the end result with my hair colour, however the customer service and experience here is just abysmal. Each employee is working on a minimum of three clients at a time; I was there on a Saturday and there were 20 clients receiving services, split between 6 staff. This means that they are constantly moving people around and making you vacate your seat for someone else. The "waiting area" is a group of chairs crammed into a small U-shaped area with a ledge running around the wall; you are literally meant to sit facing a blank wall while your colour processes. At one point, the area was completely full with people processing and waiting for their appointments and a stylist started toning someone's hair while she was just sitting in the middle of the tiny waiting area, with dye dripping all over the floor and an overpowering smell. The vibe is incredibly awkward. There are no mirrors at the hair stations so you are sitting in the middle of a room looking straight across at another client. They have no coffee machine and didn't offer me a beverage, not even water. I walked over to their water dispenser to refill my own bottle. For $500+ for my hair, I expect a coffee at the bare minimum. I overheard several frustrated clients who had arrived on time and were waiting over 30 minutes (sitting in the horrible cramped waiting area) for their appointments to start. The business is 100% profit-motivated - the goal is on pumping out as many people as humanly possible and this results in a very subpar customer experience. Even if you are talented at doing hair, there is no excuse for offering such a bare bones experience if you plan to charge top prices. Diana clearly doesn't understand that it isn't enough to just be a skilled colourist if you expect to retain clients and offer a top-tier experience. read more

Very Disappointed. I truly have never written a review for anyone or any company before but I have to leave my opinion after my experience at this so called elite and great salon people love to rave about. Firstly, making my appointment the receptionist was consistently putting me on hold and there ended up being a misunderstanding as to the time of the appointment. As a result I missed my first appointment with Sharon as I believed the appointment was in the afternoon not the morning. Secondly, as a result of missing the initial appointment I did not like how I was treated after. From Sharon trying to make me feel bad about it, to the phone call for the reminder of my new appointment time. I couldn't hear the receptionist as she was practically whispering on the phone. Thirdly, when I arrived for my new appointment, Sharon showed up exactly at the time of the appointment. I was the first client of the day. As a professional studio you as the employee should be showing up a few minutes early to set up your station and the store. The overall experience was sub par. I understood my hair colour needed fixing but the initial makeover was not to my liking. I didn't reflect the photos of previous clients Sharon had worked on. My hair looked grey. So they went back and fixed it by using another level of toner to warm up the colour as it had cooled down too much. I was shocked by the hair dresser herself as she seemed to be a newbie, I know we all start somewhere but she looked new and nervous. And thus I was nervous and impatient the entire time. The haircut was minimal and yet I was charged over 70$. I lost an inch of hair how does this equal to such an amount? ? THIS IS RIDICULOUS! I never will attend this salon again and I sure as hell won't refer anyone else. read more

Their work is good - so long as you're into the one look they do. You have to wear your hair wavy/curly. As soon as you wear your hair straight, it looks like one new lighter blended colour - a little too "blended". And make no mistake - very damaging to the hair. I just wish they were knowledgeable about using other bayalage methods like hand painting - but it's all the same one method (with the teasing and foils). They're def not big on customer service. Regardless of your $300+ bill don't expect anyone to offer you water or coffee. It's never once happened. Also - they'll do a treatment without asking/telling you and then tack the extra $50 on to your bill. read more

I came to Vivid Salon for the first time in October to see Sharon and Chris for a hair transformation. I found Sharon on Instagram (@yogacolourist) and was amazed by her work. She was so good transforming brassy blonde colours into seamlessly blended platinum blonde styles! I wanted to get my hair fixed by her since I was left with brassy blonde highlights from a previous appointment, when I asked for a light blonde balayage. Sharon was able to give my my DREAM hair colour in only one session (compared to what I came in with from another salon that I went to 3 times). After my colour, my hair was cut by Chris, who was able to fix my bangs from a previous cut! Both Sharon and Chris were lovely! I am going back in March for a trim and touch up! I follow the vivid team on instagram and was really impressed with their work. I was drawn to Christopher and Christina for my cut. Christopher was unavailable at that time but I was told Christina is as availibility in '15 minutes'. I was 17 minutes away so I got there as fast as I could. When I walked in the receptionist checked me in and just sat there. I wasn't really directed anywhere. Christina came over and greeted me and brought me to her station. She informed me I was 15 minutes late for my appointment. Confused I let her know the receptionist told me to come at this time, and was two to five minutes late if anything.. But anyways we got on track and she accommodated me as my cut wasn't complex and my hair was short. The cut was good. I'm happy with my service. I will be back haircuts and possible extensions with Christina. Lost points for the unprofessional and confused front end staff. Don't seem to be too I retested in the clients and more chatty with the other stylists. read more

LITERALLY BEST HAIR SALON EXPERIENCE EVER! I was visiting family in Toronto from New Jersey & had seen such amazing hair reviews online about Vivid Salon I just HAD to give it a try. I've been getting my hair colored for the last 6 years and 9 times out of 10 I'm always leaving the salon unhappy. I've tried all kinds of salons all across the state and still never seemed slightly thrilled about any of them. I always go in with a vision and they just confuse me with their professional lingo and simply go for what they think is best rather than what I want. Andrew was my colorist & seriously he was beyond amazing. He could tell I was nervous but he talked to me (like reallly talked to me) about what I liked, what I didn't want, what his thoughts were, the process, the pricing..I immediately felt at ease. He geuinely cared and wanted to see me leave happy. The entire appointment he was so so nice & friendly. His hands were magic. He blew me away with his talent. I was in shock of how AH-MAZING my hair came out. Like was this really my hair??? I'm still in awe! It was the greatest transformation I had ever had in all my years of hair coloring. There is no doubt in my mind that I'd travel to Canada and have Andrew take care of me again! ! ! read more

I went to this salon based on the IG comments. My worst experience ever! I was in the salon for 6.5 hours, not once was I nor anyone else offered a water or coffee. When you're charging over 600.00 for a hair service, offer your clients something to drink. I had a junior stylist wash me out only to have been yelled at by my original stylist that she made a mistake and foils were reapplied at the sink and asked to sit again. almost 1.5 hours sitting at the sink, with a sore neck and tail bone. the junior stylist than went on to give me the worst blow dry I've ever received. my head was being pulled and after another 45 mins my hair was still damp and she was going to let me leave with the worst style I've ever seen. I had to ask her to curl it. in all this time my original stylist never came to see me. I paid over 700.00 to have a junior stylist ruin my colour and get the worst style ever. if your stylists can't offer the service we pay for than maybe they should take less clients in a single day. I definitely wont be returning and would never recommend the salon. so many other better salons in the city with more knowledgeable colourists. if you do choose to visit the salon be prepared to pay just to have juniors work on you for 80% of the time. read more

I had my hair coloured last month. I waited at the reception area for 15 minutes before I was acknowledged by anyone. I was told to wait in a corner area. Was not offered coffee/water. I finally saw my colourist who did an okay job. Between waiting/processing/toning and blow-dry, I was there almost 6 hours. This is unheard of! This establishment is unprofessional and inefficient. I was encouraged to buy products to maintain the colour. Within 4 weeks, the colour has faded and is a coppery colour. Will go elsewhere to have it fixed. Sorry to have spent $600+ here. read more
