How can an ice-cream shop that only sells vanilla ice cream stay in business? It's that freaking good, and they have been doing it for over 60 years. My wife and I split a small cup, and if we were not going to a party afterwards we would have bought a couple pints to take home.... Can't wait to go back.

This location of Frozz is located on a busy street in Centrum. There is always a crowd here and for good reason. The frozen yogurt is amazing! Much better than Red Mango or Pinkberry in the states. The yogurt tastes better, perhaps creamier. Maybe it is the milk from the Dutch cows. The formula is simple. Pick your cup size and toppings. I went with a regular plain yogurt with fruits (strawberries, lychee, and pineapple). The fruits were so fresh and juicy. If you don't want fruit, you can also top your yogurt with nuts, coconut, granola, etc. The overall effect is refreshing with a mix of textures.

Not sure when they converted it to soup in the winter but I just noticed it yesterday. So I stopped in for the small chili beef for 6 euros with rice noodles. The broth could have been slightly warmer and the veggies cut slightly smaller for easier eating but overall I give it 2 thumb up. A quick, cheap and satisfying meal that helps break up the falafel routine. I'm a fan.

This all little ice cream shop looks like any other gelato place from the outside and came at a time I was trying to squeeze a little in before getting my bags and heading to the train station. Upon entering you are greeted with the typical cabinet of flavours and I my two choices were Stracciatella and Smurf, yes Smurf. Now, when you order Smurf from this place the lights dim a little bit, music starts playing, the Smurf's appear on the TV, and bubbles start falling form the season and all of that is just plain magical. Did I immediately start laughing? Yeah I did, because I was confused and it brought me so much joy. Back to the actual gelato, and guess what, it was in fact good! The gelato was creamy, rich, and had great flavour. Overall, Jan Pieter Ijsje was a great little place to stop and grab some gelato. I might not remember everything I ate and did when I was in Amsterdam in a decade or so, but I can assure you I will never forgot what happened when I ordered the Smurf ice cream.
