I came here on a beautiful Wednesday afternoon. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced. The atmosphere was excellent. Nice staff, and the music was playing at the perfect volume. I even caught myself tapping my foot while I was working on my laptop. I would certainly return and would love to get a beverage next time that isn't water as long as they switch to Pepsi! I visited for lunch today with my kids and their grandmother. We were able to sit out on the patio which was fairly cool for such a warm day. We had a small dog with us as well so we sat near the corner of the patio. Our sever was fast and very attentive. The food was really great! Everything was well seasoned and cooked perfectly. The one thing I didn't love was the initial salsa was very bland but the spicy salsa was GREAT! My oldest has a thing for ceviche and for the money it was just alright. Flavor was a bit lacking but the addition of the lime helped. For $19 I expected a little better but the presentation was beautiful. I highly recommend the chunky guacamole which we could have gotten 2 orders of but decided we probably should save room for the entrees. If you have kids their kids chicken fingers is a huge plate. The fries were great, chicken was a little overcooked. Overall we had a great experience and will definitely be back! read more

Now let's be clear- we are Las Meras Tortas fans to be sure but man- let's talk about the tacos at this place- to die for. We had the Asada, Pastor, and Carnitas tacos. The meat was cooked perfectly with just the right amount of fresh onions and cilantro. The presentation was nice as well with a roasted jalapeño and onion. The service was fast and efficient. I visited Viva Villa with much anticipation after reading glowing reviews on the Greenville location. The restaurant is a needed addition to the Mauldin restaurant scene. The restaurant has a clean look inside with optional outside porch seating. The food is best described as "under-whelming" for me. I like the chips warm or hot. That's not the case here. With fajitas, they must come out sizzling on a hot plate for my taste. There is no sizzle and no hot plated fajitas here. It's almost like the fajitas are cooked well in advance and spooned onto a plate. Service was fair. Viva Villa is convenient, but, if you are looking for fresh hot Mexican food, you may want to drive a little further. read more

A delicious hole in the wall surprise! I've seen several restaurants come and go from this location and honestly just thought this would be the next but noticed on Yelp that it was a favorite for Mexican food in Mauldin. The interior is small and busy but we were still able to get a table right away. The menu has all of your traditional Mexican favorites along with a few additional speciality items. We went for Saturday dinner and I tried the Shrimp fajitas which was quite delicious. My wife ordered the Mojarra Frita and she really enjoyed it. Both entrees were generous portions. The service is over the top friendly and attentive. The start of each meal comes with house salsa and chips. Both were great, the chips were nice and thick and the salsa tasted really fresh. My visit to this new location in Mauldin is what i have come expect from Viva Villa. The owners have achieved consistency across both restaurants. One of the owners was there working and came over and spoke to us. He recognized us from our visits to the East North Street location. We ordered off the Pick Two portion of the menu and had the chile relleno and chicken burrito with rice and beans. The food was hot and flavorful when it reached our tsble. Exactly what we are accustomed to from the Viva Villa brand. It will be interesting to see how well they do in this location. There have been several restaurant businesses in this location and they have moved on. Hopefully the consistency of flavors and the cheerful service will have this place open for a long time. read more
