Dr Rebecca and Jeffrey at BJs Optical in North Brunswick, NJ, are two of the most helpful people I…read morehave ever encountered. There was never any moment where they tried to "upsell" me. In fact, both made certain multiple times that I was sure I wanted the things that I was asking for, as they were expensive. My eye exam was one of the most thorough I have ever received. It had been too long since my last eye exam, so I had a FULL exam. Dr. Rebecca was meticulous in the exam, making sure that I was comfortable and understood what was happening the entire time. Safety was paramount as well, and the doctor adhered to all COVID safety regulations, especially when she had to be within close proximity. I had wanted Progressive lenses with Transition tinting in them since I work with my laptop as well as a monitor on the other side of my office room. The doctor made sure that I understood the "relearning" that I would have to go through to use these lenses correctly. She was clear and concise in her explanations, and truly cared about my well being. Outside of the exam room, Jeff was incredibly helpful with helping me choose lenses, tint color, and frames. He pointed me towards frames that complimented my face and head (I have a huge melon!) and constantly asked if I understood what he had said. He was a huge help in my purchase. I wound up purchasing a pair prescription sunglasses for distance, a pair of prescription glasses for distance, as well as the pair of Progressive and Transition lens glasses to use whilst working. In under a week, my glasses were ready. PERFECT! All 3 pairs of my glasses fit me beautifully, and my prescriptions were also spot on! I actually teared up when trying on my Progressive Transition lensed frames because it was the first time I could read up close AND see distance items simultaneously. Both Jeff and Dr Rebecca were there to see my reaction and go through again how to wear Progressive lenses. BJs Optical in North Brunswick, NJ was a joy to purchase from. Everyone made me feel important and truly listened to my needs, questions, and concerns and addressed every topic that I brought up. I will HIGHLY recommend this BJs Optical location!! And Im wearing my Progressive lensed glasses right now as I type this review!!

I will preface this by saying Dr. Phillips is a very smart doctor, and trust me when I say he knows…read morewhat he is doing. That said, his office is very poorly run. It can take up to a month to get an appointment and do not be surprised if you get a call a few days before to let you know that he has to reschedule. This has happened to me twice. Once you finally get to the doctor's office, you may wait an hour or an hour and a half to see him. It's really quite unacceptable. Getting through on the phone is also difficult. Do not be surprised if you are told to hold and forgotten about for 15 minutes. Do not be surprised if you go in to get test results and are told that they have not scanned the results in yet. Do not be surprised if you leave a message for an emergency and they never receive or check their messages. You may speak to one assistant who will tell you one thing and another assistant who will tell you another. There is very little regard for your own personal time. I've seen one patient demand her copayment back because the wait time was too long. I understood her frustration. Overall, his office is extremely disorganized and while he is a good doctor who knows what he is doing, I think that his office needs to have a serious restructuring.

The Dr. is knowledgeable. my experience with the staff is quite different. my eyes were dilated at the appointment( it was my first time getting this done). I wanted told I would be dilated nor was I informed I should have come work someone or given those fashionable disposable glasses people wear. you was I shocked when I couldn't see a thing when I left. I couldn't see enough to go back up to the dr. office or find my car so I managed to call a ride to pick me up. not cool( in my second visit I was told by another patient that the same thing happed to him with his visit.
