    WARD ROAD and 52nd…read more Title: Arrogance I visited this Office Depot location this morning and was struck by how empty the store was and how little the staff seemed to value the few customers they had. As I walked down an aisle, an employee came through pushing a rolling ladder. I picked up on his body language and moved out of the way on my own, without him needing to say anything and without any friction from me. In return, he gave me a hard, get‑out‑of‑the‑way stare that came across less like a busy worker and more like a prerequisite corporate entitlement, as if basic courtesy toward a customer was beneath him. It was an unnecessary power trip and set a very negative tone for the visit. Unfortunately, the same employee rang me up at checkout and reinforced that attitude. The first thing out of his mouth was a demand for my phone number, delivered with the same entitled tone, as if he had a right to my personal information instead of it being my choice. When I declined, he acted annoyed, like my privacy rights were an inconvenience to him, not something the company should respect. He then asked what kind of receipt I wanted. When I said "paper," the standard option, he didn't just process it--he ordered me to press a button to confirm it. I did, but being commanded to push buttons at the register by someone already on a power trip is not customer service. It's condescending and completely unnecessary, and it carries the clear message that the customer is there to obey, not to be served. On top of that, I was then asked if I wanted to round up my purchase for a nonprofit, which I declined and commented that he could round down for me instead. That clearly didn't improve his attitude. At the end of the transaction, he couldn't even be bothered to say "thank you" or "have a good day." No acknowledgment at all that I was a paying customer in a nearly empty store. What makes this even more frustrating is that I actually go out of my way not to buy everything from Amazon. I could have just ordered the notebook online, but I was intentionally trying to support something other than a giant e‑commerce platform. Instead, I was met with pride, arrogance, and an out‑of‑touch corporate mindset that seems determined to push customers away. Going forward, when I do stop by, it will be mainly to observe the cluelessness and how misplaced "corporate ideals" can hollow out a store even faster than online competition.

He did save the day and went above and beyond to help us . This Office Depot is not my favorite place to go but sometimes a girl needs copies lol .

    Dear Office Depot Head Honchos, You have a pretty decent…read morestore with nice employees. The selection is pretty good for office products. However, I do have one beef with this store. An employee told me a ballast needs to be replaced. He mentioned it after I asked what that annoying sound was. He said that electricians who buy products there said it wouldn't be too difficult to replace. So Head Honchos, I ask you - why don't you get it fixed? It was obnoxious to listen to for the 10 minutes I was in the store, and I imagine it drives your employees batty. Please fix the ballast and your customers may spend a little more time browsing your products rather than trying to escape before getting a headache from all the noise.

    Went in and three people were ahead of me. One man was behind the counter, helping 2 people at the…read moresame time. He gets done with the 2 people and he helps the 3rd, but the order for the 3rd person was screwed up. The gentleman wants to call his wife, so he tells the man to help me. Now, I have 3 pieces of paper I need laminated, that's it. Takes about 2 minutes, right? Wrong. Right after the man at the counter started to help me someone finally came to help. She helps the guy behind me, but has trouble so she has to keep asking her coworker, the same one that is supposed to be helping me, for help. Meanwhile, the gentleman that was in front of me finishes his conversation and the man goes back to finishing his transaction. Finally my documents are laminated, but the man can't finish my transaction, because apparently they can only do that on one of the computers they have. So, I wait, while he woman is still struggling to finish the transaction from the guy behind me (it didn't help that he insisted on taking a a phone call while she was helping him, either, so she waited for him to finish his conversation while she was trying to ask him questions). The man, then, takes the female customer that was waiting behind me, and I'm still waiting. Finally it's my turn to checkout. Yay! Really, no one was around to help. It was a pretty disappointing experience.
