I started with Tompkins PT in 2002 after breaking my ankle. 4 months later I was skiing at Banff. In 2009 I damaged my knee. After surgery by Dr Richard Steadman in Vail and 7 days of PT in Vail, I returned to Tompkins PT with a very detailed protocol for rehab. After 30 days, I saw Dr. Steadman who pronounced that Tompkins PT had followed his instructions to the letter and that my knee was healing well. I was riding and skiing that year. My passions keep me returning for more from Tompkins PT. I love the staff, Dr. Tompkins is brilliant. We do a lot of laughing as they push me to work and build and rehab. I highly recommend them and would be sunk without them.

I "interviewed" many nephrologists in the city before deciding on this practice. I knew I would require lifelong care, so choosing a physician who was not just competent but also "got me" and my lifestyle was extremely important. Dr. Habwe is amazing-- one of the most capable, compassionate doctors I have ever encountered. She has 100s of patients, but somehow whenever you speak to her, you feel as though you are her only one. I not only feel completely confident in her care, but actually look forward to seeing her. She is also incredibly tenacious about helping you get necessary care from other specialists, when necessary. Full time doctor and advocate, and part time social worker and confidante. The best in the city, as far as I am concerned. Additionally, her front desk staffers-- Sandy and Eleanore-- are lovely. I got pre- and post- kidney transplant hugs from both of them. (and of course, they are helpful in terms of scheduling and lab follow-up work, too). Nephrology Center also has an in-house nurse to draw labs, which makes the whole process incredibly convenient. I've also never had a problem with insurance or billing. Dealing with a short term or chronic health ailment is never awesome, and of course we'd all prefer never to see doctors at all. But if you have bean troubles, I'd never hesitate to refer you to this practice. And if you see them over the long term, I bet they become like your extended family.

I chose this place to avoid the chaotic GW MFA, but that was a mistake. Also, Dr. Khan spoke to me like he had no clue about anything. Almost like I was the doctor and he the patient.

I was told by their staff that they would honor my expired Groupon for the services listed and happily made my appointment. During my appt, the doctor recommended I add on more. I decided to add on $140 of services. The doctor confirmed that what I wanted would be an extra $140 over my groupon to which I agreed. This was a splurge for me, so I made doubly sure this was accurate. It wasn't until after my appointment that they changed their mind and said they would not honor the promotional value of my groupon and I was charged $245 instead! I was sure this was an error and they would honor what I was told before my appointment AND during my appointment. But they will not. I've received numerous emails and calls from Sonya, who just tells me that they don't honor expired Groupons. "That's not our policy" is not an excuse to mislead your customers into adding on services while being dishonest about the cost. I know what I was told by staff. They said my groupon would be honored for the services listed, period. I should pay what I was told the services would cost even if staff gave me incorrect information. A good business practice is being upfront about the cost of services. I can only assume now that this "mistake" was actually intentional. I will take my business elsewhere.
