I wouldn't trust Nurse Practitioner Carol. She fired me as a client in less than 10 minutes for setting one boundary with her.
A few minutes into our first appointment, which was just basic logistics stuff, she told me to "relax." I hadn't been particularly anxious, and I personally don't find it relaxing when someone tells me to relax. I told her I didn't find that helpful and would prefer for her not to tell me to relax. (Kind of like someone telling you to calm down or smile).
She claimed it was theraputic. I said it doesn't feel theraputic when she says that particular phrase.
Wasn't a big deal, so I expected her to either move on or show curiosity, but she got defensive and said she was not willing to honor the boundary and didn't think she could work with me because I was trying to "control what she says." I explained that it was just one request not to have that one command (to relax) given. She said she would not honor the boundary and said that it was therefore best if she did not work with me.
So my intake was cut short, Vital TMS has no one else available for med management, and now I'm scrambling to find someone to fill a prescritption so I don't go through withdrawals.
She then denied telling me to relax, which is a bigger red flag. But I have the conversation recorded. read more
