Unfortunately, that was not what I received. Throughout the process, it became clear that the agent I worked with had very limited knowledge of the properties being recommended. Basic questions regarding building features, management quality, neighborhood differences, lease terms, and unit availability often went unanswered or were met with vague responses. Rather than acting as a knowledgeable advisor, the experience felt more like a sales transaction focused on getting me to sign a lease as quickly as possible. What concerned me most was the apparent lack of interest in understanding my actual needs and priorities. Instead of providing thoughtful recommendations based on my criteria, I felt repeatedly pushed toward specific units without any meaningful explanation as to why they were a good fit. The entire process gave the impression that the primary objective was securing a commission rather than helping a client make an informed housing decision. As a result, I ended up conducting most of my own research, contacting properties directly, verifying information independently, and learning far more on my own than through the service I was supposedly receiving. This completely defeated the purpose of working with an apartment locator in the first place. A service like this should provide expertise, local market knowledge, transparency, and value.
