You are talking about a man who is the cutting edge of his field, yet he is very respectful, relaxed, and genuinely friendly. He cares about you, the patient. He does not see you as another number on a spreadsheet for a quota. You can tell, by interacting with him, he is passionate about helping people with the most important thing in their lives: their ability to clearly see the world around them. He is making the world a better place by making peoples lives better. He has made MY life far, far better. Short Story: Dr. Yang is the best optometrist in the bay area!…read more Long Story: I have been seeing Dr. Yang for over 15 years and have followed him from Foothill Optometric Group to here! Dr. Yang definitely takes the time to understand your needs and goes above and beyond to make sure your eyes are healthy. In addition, he explains every step of the exam in advance, so you don't get nervous and knows what do expect. In addition, he makes extensive notes in your file and reviews them before your appointment. Therefore when you come in he is already up to speed about your condition and can make recommendations easily. Lastly, Dr. Yang is also quite knowledgeable about insurance so you already get an idea of the payment before you go to the front desk to check out. I'd say the front desk is quite knowledgeable and friendly. Though the wait times can be long. In addition, there is staff there to help you try on glasses and to work with you and your insurance on costs. In my experiences I would definitely say the staff are good but they tend to give estimates that have all the bells and whistles which might not be necessary. Then it takes some time for them to give you a revised estimate on what exactly you want to get instead. Verdict: I'll be going back for my annual visit soon!

The doctor told me to make an appointment right when I got my contacts. The receptionist refused to do so. When I finally got an appointment I was told oh that's the best we can do. For way too long I cannot see. I had to buy a new phone. I couldn't drive at night I couldn't read things at the store. Everything was a struggle. Thank God one of the contacts broke-- thanks so much lens crafters---I now see perfectly. I complained to the receptionist several times and she would not make me an appointment prior to this. I love Dr. Mann-but she didn't take my insurance. The replacement that they got for the eye doctor for contacts was absolutely horrible compared to the one that they previously had. Not only where her prescription is wrong she was also very spicy. ( unfortunately, I don't know her name) hopefully she's no longer there along with a spicy receptionist. Also, I have experienced multiple medical errors from medical receptionist that are spicy. I really wish they would be trained to listen to the patient. I don't know if it's the same woman hopefully it's not- cause she doesn't have the ability to fully hear out the patient and their concerns.
