My visit with Dr Na was outstanding from start to finish. Dr Na was incredibly thorough and very patient. He explained each step about my cataract surgery and my eye examine that followed. Dr Na did it in a way that was easy to understand and making sure all my concerns were addressed. I had also mention to him about my swollen eye lids which I had asked another doctor before with no avail ...but Dr Na took the time to ask me questions and made sure I understood my options. This is not a review about the Dr. This is a review about their practice and the 2 staffs who work there. I will never return despite Dr seemed very knowledgeable and reliable. I went for contact lens prescription and I told my husband to go somewhere else in San Ramon. 1. They will charge you $25 putting on and off lens practice fee. NOT AN OPTION (Confirmed with staff). My husband didn't need to pay for this at a different place in San Ramon. 2. You wont be able to get your lens prescription for a week until you do the trail for a week. My husband got it the day of. 3.You should ask if you can get prescription for the brand you want ahead. I was given "My day" without letting me know. I was okay because I had no preference but it was concerning they didn't tell me. My husband's place asked him what brand he want. 4.If you want gas perm lens, look elsewhere.This place will cost me $300-$400 per staff if she did her job to really looking into it vs other 3 places will charge only around $120 (I called my previous optometry in Castro Valley) 5. Unprofessional staff. Two ladies except the front lady had attitude, didn't seem professional at all. Every thing was pretty sloppy job and attitude. Even with a smile on her face, she seemed not enjoying her job. Very sloppy. From how she taught during practice, didn't look like she was seriously looking up my patient cost for gas lens (because there is such a huge difference in cost compare to other 3 places), giving only 5 days trail when she have to give 7 days, I asked for the glass prescription and she didn't send me when she said she will, etc. Also when I asked again about the practice not being an option, one of the lady at the desk said something like "tell your husband, You don't want me to see??" laughing. Thought that was very insulting and disrespectful. Ive been using glass, soft contact and hard contact lens for over 30 years. Got prescription from other places almost every year. I moved to San Ramon. This is the worst place Ive been. Dr Na was great. Very unfortunate. read more

Dr. Na and his staff treat me and my family like their own family. From my mother, my husband, to all four of my kids, Dr. Na always presents the available options in language we can understand. I particularly appreciate how he always treats my kids like they are people with preferences and agency of their own. Also, the level of customization and patience Dr. Na provides is next level. He always makes time to answer my numerous questions, will swap out old contacts when prescriptions change mid-year, is incredibly flexible, and over the past 15+ years, has become a friend. It was my first eye exam in a while and my first time visiting 20-20 Optometry. Dr. Luo was extremely thorough throughout the entire exam. So exhaustive that she saved my life. She noticed that my nerves were swollen, some were already ruptured, and suggested we dilate my eyes to get a better look. She explained that I probably have idiopathic intracranial hypertension. After, she strongly encouraged me to go to the ER and gave me a referral for an MRI. It turns out she was right. Because of her, her love for her work, and her advocacy for her patients, I'm on the road to recovery. I highly recommend going to 20/20. read more

At latest 11 AM today I called for appointments for my husband and myself. I explained to the receptionist that because of my husband's compromised medical circumstances I needed to know if their Dr. and optician have had COVID vaccines. The receptionist, Alisha I believe, told me the Dr. had but she would have to ask the optician who was in a room with a patient. Not receiving a return call within a normal time periods I called two more times several hours apart. Once I was told the optician was "just back from lunch" and the other time she was on the phone. At about 4:30 I was assured I would receive a call before they closed (at 6:30) and in time to schedule appointments. This waste of my time and frustration went on for over 7 hours. So, if this is the type of patient service you want this is your place. read more

Dr. Na has been my optometrist for years and I've always been pleased by his service, accuracy and personal charm. He is thorough, diligent and patient with the exams. His staff are friendly and also patient and experts in summarizing the insurance coverage which always confuses me. Dr. Na remembers my family and asks about them which shows his the level of personal care. Once I was dissatisfied with my newly prescribed lens and Dr. Na immediately revisited the prescription and replaced the lens without charge... that's service! Dr Benjamin Na and his staff are all stars and they saved the day!! I damaged my glasses and both sides came off- although they were designed to come off before breaking they are difficult to fix. Due to a medical condition my hands don't work like they used to- and sought their help. after a tough year we were so looking forward to our vacation in Hawaii and this occurred the day before we left! I started going to 20/20 Optometry for several years when I worked for UPS and we changed from VSP to eye med and I was looking for drive wear lenses because I was a UPS truck driver. I'm now since retired disability, moved away and fast forwarding to more recently as Covid cases declined and I'm feeling better about getting out and about trying to play catch up on my medical care and since I received such great service before I wanted to come back and I'm pleased to report that I'm getting even better service now! I just wanted to give recognition to the staff at 20/20 in San Ramon. They are fantastic. Angel and Nina in particular are both very helpful,. When I first went in there for glasses, Nina the Optician helped me find the perfect pair and made sure they fit me correctly. She is very knowledgeable in this area. I get compliments on them all the time, and for a first pair of glasses I am very pleased with them. Angel has always been very friendly and helpful, most recently when I ran into some lens coating issues (vendor fault) both her and Nina were quick to get the issue resolved. The receptionist is also very friendly as well. It's just a nice place to go to all around full of knowledgeable staff. Highly recommended. read more

The doctors are nice but after your exam is done, and they suggest the most expensive ranges rather than asking what your budget is...they have messed up two of my eye glasses order . Don't let the appearance of the front of this place fool you, it's actually very large inside, and they have a huge selection of quality frames. So far, I have had two prescriptions filled, along with new frames, and both came through very accurately. Been coming here for a long time! Aside from their peripheral-vision-intimidator machine, everything else is great! The gals in the front office are great. They have a good selection of frames-I always ask if them to warn me if I accidentally pick a girls frame. LOL! I ordered a pair of prescription sunglasses from this place about 3 months ago. The prescription for the glasses was completely off when I picked up the glasses to the extent that I felt completely nauseous. The optician blamed my eyes for this and did not take responsibility. So I asked her to make my new glasses exactly the same prescription as my last year's glasses. I went there a second time the problem still existed to the extent that I could not put on the glasses without feeling nauseous. This time she blamed the lab for making a mistake. Long story short I went back two more time and for the fourth time today and the glasses are still not correct for near distance viewing. So I told them to cancel my future appointments. This establishment should get no stars but unfortunately Yelp doesn't offer this choice. I went there because my health insurance carrier has an agreement with 20/20. I was charged the wrong copay even though I mentioned several times that the only reason I was there was because of my insurer's agreement. It wasn't a misunderstanding but deliberate on their part. Dr. Na and Dr. Kawai are great optometrists. The other people who work at 20-20 are businesslike and efficient, but friendly. Exactly what I want from any healthcare provider organization. I've worn glasses over 50 years, contacts more than 40, and I've been to probably a dozen optometrists. I'm a well-informed consumer. My ATF, unfortunately, closed his office and went to work for one of the big optical companies in R&D, and it took me four tries and several years to find another optometrist I really like. The glasses I bought from 20-20 several years ago are the best I've ever owned (also the most expensive!) They've repaired them twice at no charge, and even though it's time to for me to buy a new pair, they're not pushy about it. read more

There have been a few years where I've actually achieved 20-15 vision and I'm extremely picky in regards to crispness and balance with my vision which has become an issue recently again as the perfect in between contacts I needed were no longer being made by the manufacturer :-( The girls in the front office have always been friendly and nice. I must admit that the $100 contact exam that goes on top and above your coverage is discouraging but the unlimited appointments during the year when you're having any contact issues makes up for it. Over a decade ago I had Lasix surgery done and it was the best experience ever going from one day viewing the world blurry as you lay down to sleep in the bed and then when you wake up. So even though the procedure was beneficial and totally worked for me over time certain things such as consistently dry eyes were not ideal, and to make matters worse I was using the wrong drops for dryness which ultimately made the dryness worse. Then overtime things became a little challenging for my night vision. This forced me to make an optometry appointment for some clarification and better solutions. Happy I went here because from the moment I walked in the door the entire staff was friendly and helpful. My provider took her time to explain everything to me that was going on, that they were going to do, and what was needed. She was patient, informal, and detailed oriented. By the time I left with her I felt completely confident in what was going on with my vision. Shorty after leaving her I was extremely lucky to be helped by Nina Nghia Nguyen for the next steps in things. Not only was she helpful, honest, and has a talented eye for what works for each person's face, but she made the process of this rediscovering frames after over a decade a comfortable, fun, unforgettable experience. When she ran across the right frames for me we both knew they were the one. Love at first site lol. I'm only suppose to wear my new frames for certain task but I've been wearing them all throughout my day with confidence. I have been going to Dr. Benjamin H. Na, with 20/20 O-Optometry for many years. I just recently had my eye exam, which is always a pleasant experience, with Dr. Na. He gave the prescription for eyeglass. Instead of purchasing my glasses with 20/20, I took the prescription to Costco, to save a few extra $$$. When I pick up my glasses at Costco, they didn't feel right. Costco said, go back to your Dr., which I did and come to find out, Costco does not give the frames any adjustment, only frames and the lenses. I went in to 20/20 this morning and Nina, bless her, fixed my frames to fit correctly. So next year when I have my eye exam, and if I need new glasses, I won't be purchasing them at Costco. Dr. Na is great. I have worn contacts for 18 years and have never had a clear prescription. When I first came to 20/20 Dr. Na took the time to really dial in my prescription and try different kinds of lenses. It took time but I ended up seeing the best I ever have. I have since had PRK laser eye surgery coordinated by Dr. Na and he has taken care of all of my post-op care. He has been great! My eyes have taken a while to heal but he has been very attentive to my recovery every step of the way. He has been extremely patient and accommodating during this process and I would recommend him to anyone. They also have a great office staff here. Dr Na is the best! After I had my cataract surgery at 45, was having nothing but problems trying to fit my eyes with correct contact lenses that work for me. I went through two optometrists before Dr Na, both told me they could not help me see clearly and that I had to learn to "deal with it" after trying to fit me only twice. On the other hand, Dr Na kept ordering different strength of lenses until I am completely satisfy with my eyesight. A money driven doctor definitely would not do this. The absolute BEST experience I have ever had with an eye appointment. While I have been wearing glasses for over 20 years but have always so desperately wanted to wear contact lenses, Dr. Na asked me to let him try putting them in for me just to see how they felt. although squeamish at first, he was so gentle and for the first time in my life, I had contacts in. the office set up a couple of appts for me to come in and get used to putting them in and taking them out and I was amazed at myself - thank to the wonderful assistance. I went to the Doctor on Nov 5 and wanted to be wearing contacts lenses before my birthdayday (Dec 14th) and sure enought - I was totally wearing them within a week and a half.
