I called and left messages with several other companies and a few of them acknowledged that I called but said it would be a week before someone would contact me in regards to my issue. My daughter saw Preventive Maintenance's recommendations through The South Riding Facebook group. I called and the owner, Marcel, said he could come by in a few hours and look at it. He showed up exactly when he said he would be there. He agreed that the tree needed to come down as soon as possible. I also had a second tree that wasn't as urgent but we decided to include it as well. He indicated he would have a quote for me within a few hours and he delivered again just as he said he would. The cost was completely reasonable and in actuality was well below what my husband thought it might cost. He didn't have the crew to take down the dangerous tree until Monday but he came over Saturday and took down the less urgent tree. On Monday he showed up an hour earlier than my appointment which was awesome because it was threatening to rain and I was concerned as to whether that could further delay bringing the tree down. The tree was brought down expertly and now I can sleep better knowing I won't have a tree visiting me in my dreams. My husband and I opted to do the removal of the downed trees ourselves so I can't speak to that aspect of his work. Given the level of attention that he provided, I think I can safely say, it would be outstanding as well. I also want to add that Marcel stayed in touch with me from start to finish via texts and emails which I very much appreciated. He was also very friendly and fun to talk to. His "people" skills are an A+.

We were not aligned in what was supposed to be done, what we had discussed and what it was finally done. I strongly advise to get everything in writing and be present at the job site. The equipment at the job site (residential) was an overkill for the size of the job (three branches) and created damages in my lawn due heavy machinery used (Deep tire tracks) and damages to driveway asphalt (driveway not supporting large heavy truck with a chipper). Finally, he never even offered to remedy the situation and he just thanked for the feedback!!!!

Despite agreeing to an additional price on the spot, the owner continued to complain and argue about the main tree branch I requested him to cut, which is closer to my neighbor. he focused more on talking than completing the work. The other guy who came with him worked hard, but the owner was just talking. I should have canceled it the moment I saw his attitude change when he arrived for work. As a result, the job was not done properly, and I will need to hire someone else to get the job done properly. I asked him to do an assessment of some recent landscaping that I was disappointed with and to give me an estimate for remaining work. He told me in writing (two emails and one text) that he was going to do the assessment. It was important that he do it by a certain timeframe for a dispute with my credit card, and he was aware of that. He had from Aug. 9 through Aug. 17. Because of him, my allotted time ran out and my claim was denied. That means he cost me $3,400. And he left me no choice but to now go to small claims court. I strongly recommend against him and his company.

We all know it's very hard to find someone to trust with your homes needs, even harder when out of state... but Josh made it easy. He was friendly, honest and communicative. He was the only one, out of 5 estimates, to FaceTime with me when he had questions and not just text a picture or send a wordy email. Once hired he moved fast! And when the mulch we wanted was out of stock he took pictures of what our other options were, before purchasing or guessing. He also took fantastic after pictures to make sure we had a good feel for what they did and lended advice on how to best maintain it (many would just waited to charge you for another visit not help you understand what your yard needs). Pricing was very fair especially based on the 4 other estimates we received. I appreciated that he itemized each task so we could pick and choose what works best for your budget. Overall I would highly recommend Josh and his crew. I myself won't hesitate to use him again in the future. Please note the large dirt spot in the first pic is awaiting grass so do not judge his work on that spot! I wish I had before pics but as explained we FaceTimed for that.
