I am very pleased to announce that after the horrendous experience we had had with Pheonix, Oxford…read morehas been a dream! Pam, the admitting nurse was wonderful! She had gone through the same procedure that my grandmother just went through, so in many ways she was more informative than the doctors in her ability to explain everything in simplified layman english. She was super friendly, had an uplifting sense of humor, and was very gentle. My grandma loved her! She got my grandma all set up to receive fresh medical supplies and monitoring equipment sent right to her door, and scheduled a nurse to come over and check in on her twice a week. I will keep this post updated as we go, but Oxford seems like they really have their act together, and I don't foresee that there will be any problems with their services.

Oxford has, for a very long time, been a "bad word" in home healthcare in this area. I have known…read morepeople that have worked for them and they treat their employees just as poorly as their clients. I have yet to meet one person from this company that had "bedside manors". Most are brash and not very friendly. Once you sign up for ANY of their services, many OTHER services are tacked on that you will probably not need and are most defiantly NOT ordered by your doctor or anyone but them in fact. Trying to cancel service with Oxford is like trying to cancel a magazine subscription. You can call them over and over again, but the staff assigned to your case will continue to call and leave messages that they will "be three today" with a FIVE HOUR window of when or more. Remember, this is AFTER you've canceled. There are MULTIPLE numbers that will call you, most of which are private cell phones of the staff going to the homes. Calls back are often ignored or go straight to voicemail. Calling the main office gets annoying as well, because you are tossed from extension to extension of countless individuals NOT AT WORK RIGHT THEN! You have NO idea how many "breaks" and "days off" the management get in this place, it's insane. Oxford's main goal is to put as many charges on you or your insurance as possible and BUG YOU constantly even after you've canceled. Even the "assessment" is garbage. It's just more of the same recording of pills and telling you things you already know: "You seem to be up and awake today." Are you asking or have you become captain obvious? Do NOT use Oxford! It's like working with politicians. You NEVER get a straight answer and you will have to work your tail of to cancel the service. Oh, and anything that happens to NOT be approved by insurance that you didn't need anyway.. ya YOU will get charged for that.. not your insurance. STAY AWAY FROM OXFORD!

Cox emergency room, and Cox ambulance crew get a 5-star rating…read more A STORY OF A COMPANY GOING ABOVE AND BEYOND Brief history, I (the husband am 74 years old, only one leg, and in a wheelchair) ( the Wife) is 75 years old, very bad balance, and always uses a walker. On 12-21-22 while headed to the bathroom (the wife) twisted her knee and right ankle and landed on the floor. We managed to get her up after 15 minutes. We were able to get her into bed OK. On 12-22-22 at 10 AM ( the wife) woke up in lots of pain and asked to go to the ER. (I the husband ) called 911, they arrived within minutes, got her into the ambulance, and drove to Cox South ER. ( I the husband ) arrived 15 minutes later, to find she was already in a room but was all checked in, seen by a Dr. and the x-rays were ordered. The Dr. informed us (the wife ) had a badly sprained ankle and right knee, and to go home and rest both. The nurse asked if we could get her into the house by yourself, I said I was unsure. She said one minute then came back in and said that some of the ambulance management crew Russell Scanlan were helping out and would follow us home and get ( the wife ) inside the house for us. The ambulance management crew helped load both of us into our car and followed us to our house 2 miles away, then helped get (the wife ) into bed. (the wife ) took a nap and apron-waking a few hours later got up to use the bathroom, using the walker to assassinate. When going back to bed her right knee and ankle gave out and she slid to the floor again, I (the husband ) cannot pick her up, so I called 911 again, Cox ambulance showed up within minutes and picked her up and got her into bed. 12-22-22 was one of the worst weather days for many years here in Springfield, -10 wind chill factor with 3 "of snow. Yet the Cox ER department and Cox Ambulance department and Management took fantastic care of 2 elderly people, they all deserve a 5 star rating and 5 star THANK YOU. Our best regards ( the wife and the husband )
