My Mom and her friends constantly wait 45 minutes to an hour to have an order taken or be served. Stale bread sandwiches, The cake is so stale you cannot cut it with a fork!! The other night a new resident sat for an hour alone at a table waiting for is order to be taken even after the other guests told the servers he had not even had is order taken, He finally started walking back to his room hungry and unfed when the waitress finally followed down the hall to take his order. Meals with friends are a highlight of the day for my Mom and her friends. Both my Mom and her friends have complained to Diane the person in charge of the facility and also written complaints in the suggestion box, To no avail! My Mom purchases food to eat in her room as she sometimes just cant muster up the patience for a 2 hour lunch or dinner. The cost to live here is not cheap and meals are included in the cost, But if you can't get fed... There is no value.

He hosted the lunch today for 23 people who also listened to a presentation by Rob Mill from CERT (Community Emergency Response Team). He told us how to take immediate steps to be prepared for any natural disaster. It was a great day and Alberto and Emerald Gardens made it perfect! Everyone I've encountered at Emerald Gardens is friendly, professional and very helpful--especially Alberto! Thank you so much for all you do for the Senior Center!

I have a family member living here and has unfortunately has gone into Hospice care. This week has been very difficult for me and my family to say the least. I do want to say, we've all been very impressed by the professional, compassionate and sometimes thankless work they do daily. It's HARD work. The profession I'm in works hand in hand with housing such as Emerald Gardens. To me, many folks that work at some of these facilities and with Hospice are "angels walking among us" I am reminded that there are wonderful caring people in this world.. Even though our family is hurt and saddened by the loss of a family member, we all feel we were in good hands and more importantly our loved one was in good hands and acknowledged, respected and understood by the staff here, and that, brings some comfort to us. I can't really comment about the food or the activities, but I can say that I see residence laughing and happy and the rooms are warm and clean. Be Well. P.S. auf wiedersehen 2016

She altered my medication list during an urgent care visit where she wasn't even my doctor, didn't discuss it with me, made it so I can't get my zofran after 7 years of use. Saying it's the reason I had a QT on my EKG when I specifically told her I hadnt picked up my medications in many many months due to very hard personal struggles. So how can a pill I took 10 months ago give my heart a QT now? She never even mentioned it and I had no idea until I went to pick up my medications and that she even made these alterations. I struggle with nausea severely and she took away my most helpful tool. I'll never forget the way I was treated today.

I was treated with the utmost respect and every official birth protocol was followed (I work in labor, delivery, postpartum, and am very familiar with protocol). I did have one nurse in 2008 that seemed old fashioned and perhaps was trained in a different time, but everyone else supported me in my birth. I wasnt offer medication until I asked for it. I was given kindness and compassion with every contraction. I was told that I was doing phenomenal and encouraged EVERY STEP OF THE WAY. I felt empowered and respected. They fed my husband and kept my as comfortable as possible. After birth I received two post partum massages to relax me in the subsequent 3 days, I was given healthy options for food and it tasted GREAT. I was in touch with a board certified Lactation Consultant ANY TIME I NEEDED and this helped established great care and nursing. I was validated, encouraged, and treated WELL. I received 30 days lactation care included in my birth package which really helped identify some issues I was having. Their lactation support group was wonderful also. The nurses there were incredible (I will ALWAYS remember a sweet nurse named Paul in 2008, and Teryl's wonderful help in 2008 and 2012). I wish everyone could deliver here and feel this supported, or that every hospital would emulate these behaviors and make mamas feel strong and brave. Thank you for helping me gracefully become a mother with love and support. You're wonderful, Silverton Hospital.
