Felt very unwelcome. I walked in the door 10 minutes before my appointment. One of the staff very curly said can I help you? I could not hear her very will so I said I'm sorry I could not hear you. She stomped over and said louder go sit down and wait pointing to the alcove for waiting. My prelim tests were done on time but my actual eye exam as 25 minutes late. No apologies, just come in now. I had to be extra clear about the prescription I required because he did not acknowledge he understood what I wanted. I will NEVER return again. HORRIBLE! Made an appointment online, got there exactly at the appointment start time. The lady at the desk had her back turned to us doing something for another customer. Finally turns to us and when I say my son has an appointment she asks us to go to the back. We sit there when another lady says sorry you'll have to reschedule since you're late.....ummm NOPE never coming back. There are plenty of other places around that want my business. read more

This site really deserves 0 stars, but unfortunately that is not possible. The "manager" at the time of my visit should be shown the door IMMEDIATELY. You will understand that reasoning as you read the dialogue below. And it is unfortunate that I have to write this review, as I have been coming to this location for several years. First, I got an email from Visionworks on 12/30/2022 at 10:21AM with an "APPOINTMENT REMINDER" (IN CAPS) that "your eye exam is tomorrow". This was to be for my annual eye exam prior to the end of the insurance year. On 12/31/2022 (day of exam) I got a follow up email at 08:21AM stating "we look forward to seeing you today" APPOINTMENT REMINDER for 11:20 AM. Additionally, I got text messages at the same dates and times as above. At 09:22AM I was left a voicemail that my eye exam was not available. I called them at 10:44AM when I received the message stating I would be there at 11:20AM for my appointment as confirmed by email and text. I showed up right on time and was greeted by a girl at the front desk, who I assume was the "manager". I told her I was there for my appointment at 11:20AM as confirmed via text and email. I was told "she told you there were no appointments available". I responded "so it wasn't you who I talked to on the phone?". She tried explaining that the "computer system" set up the appointment and it was not a "real" appointment, just a placeholder. "We told you that on the phone". So now I am wondering who is "we"? I straight out asked this question. I simply stated again that I just wanted my annual exam that was confirmed no less than 4 times. She became argumentative and said "I told you on the phone we had no appointments available". Which I returned with, " so now you are confirming it was you I spoke with?". She responded with " do I need to call the police, because I feel that is where we are at"? I stated that would not be necessary, as I will be taking my business elsewhere. I also promised to "flame" this business on social, so here it is. If you are the owner of this business, please do something about your abrasive employee. This is your opportunity to change for the better. You lost a loyal customer due to one unfriendly and angry employee. And don't ask me for private feedback, as I will NOT respond. I AM DONE WITH YOUR LOCATION AND WILL TAKE MY BUSINESS TO A COMPANY THAT APPRECIATES IT. Peace read more

I don't recommend anyone go to this business. You can't talk directly with anyone without first calling the national hotline. When you call the hotline you get put on hold for 15 minutes. I had an eye exam and then came back for a contact class to learn how to put them in, etc. Well they have you put them in and immediately rush you to do tests. I had a problem with the contacts, I couldn't see very well with them in. So they tell me we need to try out something else but they have to order them. 2 weeks later they still haven't came in. So now I'm supposed to wear the pair that doesn't work properly until the others come in. Also the staff up front aren't very friendly and they don't explain anything. Stay far far away. Doctor is so incompetent and not personable what-so-ever. He didn't even tell me what was wrong with my eyes. I asked him at least 3 times what the problem could be but the his assistant was the one who finally replied with "astigmatism". He said I can get glasses if I want. But I wanted contacts. Chose because our insurance covered here. Scheduling was all automate....did not like process. Then a person called about a hour before appointment time to collect my information. Nothing like waiting until the "eleventh hour". Store was crazy busy. Employees do not wear name tags. Doctor did not introduce himself. However, all were very nice. Doctor took time. Picking out frames was good. Price was good. We will see if the glasses are good or not in two weeks...seems like a long time to have to wait. read more

My son needs bifocal glasses and not only he finds great looking frames at Visionworks but we continually receive a great service. We've tried other places in the past but nothing compares and we always come back. read more

If I could give 0 stars this place would get it. They were very rude from the moment my family walked through the door. The Doctor is nice. The ladies have terrible customer service. If you try to ask them a question 1 they do not let you finish and 2 they try and make you feel like your wrong. This is unacceptable. I made an appointment online for today 01-07-2020 for an eye exam. When I walked-in, Tabitha was sitting at a desk and asked if she could assist me. I gave my name and that I have an appointment for 12:00. She said, " We called you and told you we need your insurance". Not a "Hello", or "Welcome to Visionworks" first. I reached in my purse and could not locate my insurance card. She continued to spout at me about my insurance. I asked how much the exam cost. She told me $49.00. I said, "I'll simply pay the bill myself, no problem". She made a face at me and I asked if she had a problem with me, again with a face of disgust. I thought about walking out. My exam with Dr. Pollack was great. He's professional and thorough. I requested my P.D. w/ my prescription and he mentioned the ladies up front will provide that for me. While I waited up front to pay my bill, the manager came from in back and another girl told her I was waiting to pay and get my "P.D.". She sat me down at a desk, took my payment, placed my prescription in an envelope and pushed it toward me and said, "there you go". I told her I still needed my "P.D.", she looked at me puzzled (she knew exactly what I wanted) and said "What". I told her again, I needed my P.D. that I'd requested it from Dr. Pollack and he told me the ladies up front would provide that. She took the small tool that reads that and provides that information, did not explain at all how I was to use it. Took it back and simply said, "63". She didn't tell me the right side is so and so and the left is so and so. Which is what you need to purchase glasses through another vendor. These ladies could not have made me feel more uncomfortable during my visit and shame on them!! Never, ever again will I step foot in Vision works of West Bend. Since posting this review, I was contacted by Jenni the manager of the Visionworks I went to. She apologized to me, she shared some excuses and told me I would be refunded my cost of the procedures. I went to get my first pair of glasses. Optometrist was a good guy, very good. Just so we get this correctly, the woman who helped me with choosing the glass frames, was a piece of .........well concrete. She never even gave me a case, didn't even adjust my glasses. I purposely wished her a happy new year, no response. If this ......... dose not like her job she should quit. I never had glasses before and it was very intimidating to chose my first pair, as for price and fit she never offered any help. When I came back to get my case the other lady (sorry I have to say it this way) but the "African American" girl was the only one that couldn't believe the other...........did not give me a case, she just was stunned...AND I never got offered on how they fit or an adjustment. Hey terrible clerk, here is a tip, stop sitting on your huge..... and get up and help out customers with a smile, maybe then you wouldst be so unhappy. Better yet quit. I would recommend that they fire this .......... !!! and I would recommend to go somewhere else . read more

Well, I'm in West Bend, WI, and will not be choosing this store, my Mom has dementia and patients is of the essence. Dosent look to me after reading all the reviews, that there is much patience with these workers, I know the reviews are not all from West Bend, but I cant take that chance with impatience with her, because she is limited on funds to pay for glasses. read more

I've gotten multiple eyeglasses here and have never had a problem with the staff or products. The optometrist is highly knowledgeable and friendly, never rushed. I've worn glasses for decades and gladly recommend this store for exams and glasses. read more

We had a great experience here! The optometrist was fantastic. My stepdaughter is really shy when she doesn't know someone, and the optometrist got her to trust him very quickly.He took a lot of time to fully gauge what the issue was and what prescription could help her. It was the most detailed and complete exam I've seen, and he answered all of our questions in an easy to understand way. The glasses came in very quickly, too. I have no complaints! read more

PLEASE take time to read this experience that my family and I had. I wish I could write a review as a voice message because I am so disappointed with some of the employees and customers at this location of visionworks. I had come in with my family to get a pair of glasses along with my mom and my brother needed an eye exam. Immediately when we are greeted it is not polite. We were assisted with the lady that sits directly to the right when you walk in the door. She had told my mom they tried to reach her about insurance information the last few days and my mom had not received the calls as she works a full time job and cannot always get to the phone. My mom had apologized and the lady continued to be bluntly rude to me and my family while asking about our insurance and other information. When it was time for my brother to have his exam she was very disrespectful. My brother is diagnosed with ADHD and anxiety and note, he is a 9 year old little boy. After his exam, the lady comes out and decides to start talking to her other coworker across the room about my brother when I was clearly present in the room along with my little sister. She said, and I quote, "it took me 15 minutes to get one puff of air into that kids eye." Don't you think this lady should be understanding and mind her own business? She does not know what could possibly be going on in his mind and she should NOT EVER be working with children of any kind. If your child is worried about their eye exam or gets anxious in those situation, DO NOT bring them to this location. The lady that gives the pre eye exam is very disrespectful and inconsiderate of people. There is no politeness present when speaking to her. A customer also had made a comment about why he was asking so many questions and they laughed about how he was nervous. My brother, again, was anxious and cannot help some of his actions. This worker specifically should not have her job working with any people and especially children. The eye doctor and a lady sitting off to the left was very helpful. I would love to give this a 5 star rating but since we had this terrible experience sadly I cannot. read more

Wish I could give them zero stars. Recently bought a pair of sunglasses here (prescription). I'm extremely careful with my glasses (always in the case when not in use, I use two hands to take them on and off). The earpiece separated from the frame after 4 months of light use. Took them in and was told "I did not purchase the warranty". They would replace them IF I purchased new frames (IF they had them in stock). Not to mention they constantly try to upcharge/upgrade you. Just keep in mind that once the 30 days goes by, they won't do anything for you. Go somewhere else read more

I went there to get my eyes checked and the lady that did my pre exam or whatever it's called was very rude and unfriendly. She didn't even tell me what was going on or what she was doing/ testing. She blew the puff of air into my eyes without even warning me beforehand which they usually do...I jumped and it made my anxiety go through the roof...so I was anxious for the rest of my appt. and the rest of the day...Not fun!!! The Optometrist was very friendly and helpful though!! He answered all of my questions and knew what he was talking about!!!! read more

This place used to take care of their customers! They sell crappy Antiglare that cracks easily...they used to replace it no charge if that happened but not anymore. Plus the cost of it went up to $150.00!!! Wow! Went next door to Eye Care Optical and it was only $90.00 and if it cracks or is defective they replace it and it's in writing!! My sister went to another one of their locations and was slammed into all the expensive products. She was never even given a choice in what lenses she wanted. They saw her good insurance and only priced the expensive options....that's what happens when staff is working on commission. They sell what's best for them not selling to the needs of the customer! I recently ordered contacts from here and they are great. I came to get a check-up on my contacts and it was a quick and easy appointment with the doctor. After that, I had to get my prescription, so I waited for an employee to print it out for me. She listed the price for a pack of six pairs of contacts, which was a little expensive for my taste. She was not happy to hear that I decided to look around for other options to find a cheaper price. I understand she wants my business, but there's no need to be rude! read more
