I have been a patient at the optometrist office next door & VisionWorks for 2-3 years. I went in to purchase more Contacts, not covered by insurance & self pay. I went to the front desk on the glasses side, told the gentleman who was watching a show on his cellphone, I needed to make a purchase. He asked me if I had my prescription on me, as if it was the largest inconvenience of his life to have to pause his phone & actually display any remote customer service. I responded no, but my rx was on file at the optometrist office. He got an attitude, I said "Well I guess I can walk over there and get it for you?" Keep in mind I am the customer... he said "No, I'll go get it." He brings it back after having to turn off his TV show/movie. He asked me if I wanted a 6 month or 3 month supply. I said a 3 month supply is fine... he began to question me how often I wear my lens' & even then he was rude & pushing to know why I didn't want the 6 month supply. It's none of his business how often I wear MY contacts. He rings me up, doesn't tell me they have to be ordered, doesn't tell me he's going to refuse to give me trials until they come in. I paid $75 a box, $150 total. The entire transaction was unprofessional, even hateful to a point. I said Okay whatever... I proceeded to walk to the optometrist office next door to obtain a copy of my rx. He was there talking to the front desk receptionist. I walked in & I just said I need a copy of my prescription. They were both immediately argumentative. I guess he wasn't done being an asshole AFTER I just spent $150 with him. They tag teamed me arguing... refusing to give me MY prescription. They told me they were not authorized to give it to me without the doctor signing it. Keep in mind, I already paid for my exam almost a year ago. And purchased a 6 month supply at that time. So at this point, he did nothing to assist me, she did nothing to assist me neither of them explained why they couldn't give me a copy of something, why they couldn't give me a simple trial pair of contacts to wear until my order came in. It was aggressive, argumentative, hateful, unprofessional & made my day/life a million times harder than it needed to be when I was PAYING THEM FOR THEIR SERVICE. They "let" me take a photo of my rx & told me I could wait for the doctor to sign a new one. Which makes ZERO sense. The Optometrist already signed MY original copy. My friend with me said, she just needs a temporary pair to wear & they refused to help in any way possible. His employee number is 15282. NPI 1700154069. Order # 7220989. I later went to Stanton Optical where they took my prescription, ordered them & gave me a trial pair to wear same day, in office in less than 5 minutes. I asked her if any new laws had been changed that would uphold their horrible behavior & treatment & she said no, apologizing for THEIR treatment. As well, VisionWorks charged $150, Stanton charged $128.52. I don't think I've ever been treated so badly from an establishment in a combative manor. Joel and Pete in Waco are the best! The tech, Debra or Debbie, is the worst I've ever been treated by! She was rude, didn't explain things AND didn't wipe the machines with alcohol between patients. Because of this, we will never again get eye exams there, even though Dr Friedman was great, but will definitely go back for glasses!! read more

I have always come to Visionworks to get my glasses. The staff at the Richland Mall location are always kind and courteous. They never pressure me into a sale, and they are very knowledgeable and they are able to help me whenever I need to pick out something new. The selection of glasses is quite large, and their prices are much better than some of the other opticals in town. The GM, Joel, is always helpful. Would recommend to anyone who needs glasses! read more

Very friendly and very helpful just watch the sales person the are on Commission and will up sale a lot of unneeded stuff. They have a great selection of frames. If there are any problems the will fix them quickly. Very satisfied with my glasses. read more

When arriving at Visionworks, there was only one person working. He guy asked I needed I told him lena for my frames. Told me have a seat, he was helping another customer. When he got to me, he started asking me questions that I am not familiar with and I would ask hi. To explain. Then he asked what was wrong with the frames I had, nothing it's just I can't leave them because I wouldn't be able to see to read, drive, cook, anything. He then threw my prescription at me and ordered me out of the store that he didn't like my attitude. That I had a mean horrible attitude and to get out if the store now. I told this guy I did not have an attitude but he sure did, yelling at me like he was. He got up and said out. So I walked out of the store, stopped and walked back in and demanded his name. He said his name was Pete. And he gave me the managers card. Same number on all the cards. So I called a customer service number. First time there and last time there. read more

I am always pleased with the service I get. I find the staff to be very professional. If there is a wait (which is not usually very long unless it is busy season), I just browse through frames. They have a wide selection of frames, and there is an optometrist on site. I am usually very picky yet am often appalled at the final price (I usually get the extra options), but there are less expensive options as well. I have had to have my lens redone and they did so in a timely manner at no extra cost. I appreciate they are always willing to adjust my frames for no extra cost as a walk in. Has been my go - to place for several years. read more

My sales associate was AWFUL! The bottom of the receipt says the name "Predro" but I am not sure if that is his name. First we walked in and no one helped us and skipped to the couple who came in 10plus minutes after us. Then I explained, once an associate came to us, that I just wanted some glasses and I picked up $69.95 pair. The sales associate then tells me I should pay out of pocket for them and just get an Anne Cline pair that would be covered up to $170 with my insurance and the cheap pair will be great for their promotion. I found a pair that I LOVED and he rings up the more expensive pair and it was like $96, and I asked why that happened and apparently the insurance I am using currently only allows frames every 2 years and when I got contacts last year it voided new glasses. I told him I did NOT want to pay that much, and he told me that was a great deal and I am only paying $96 for $500 worth of stuff. I declined after having to explain myself multiple times and I said I just want the cheap pair and he then keeps telling me I need to just go back to the eye dr and get a contact exam, which would cost another $60, and come back for a year supply of contacts which would be another $68 because he "knows" I wont wear my glasses. I then had to explain multiple times after he kept on that the eye dr wants me to wear glasses for awhile and I will be having new insurance in January that pays better for contacts and glasses. He then proceeded to argue with me that my new insurance is NOT going to be better, and I just need to go get the exam for contacts and be done. IF I WANTED CONTACTS I WOULD OF DID THAT EXAM BUT I JUST WANTED GLASSES!!!!! I THEN TOLD HIM I JUST WANT THE CHEAPER GLASSES AND I WILL GET ANOTHER EXAM FOR CONTACTS FRIDAY WHEN I GET PAID! He said "to bad they aren't there on Friday's". EXCUSE ME?!?! FIRST OFF Who are you to be talking to ME about anything regarding my decisions? He would NOT stop telling me that I just needed to go pay more money. Finally he finds it funny that I was SO upset, and makes a joke about it. I could NOT even think at that point. I told him with my head down, I just want these cheap glasses because he told me it would be cheaper to buy out of pocket. I did not want to spend the money for more expensive ones because in January when my BETTER insurance kicks in I will be willing to pay more. He has me sign papers and states he will be filing the insurance. At that point I just wanted to leave. I really didn't care anymore. I paid $57.97 and they are filing my insurance. I should of just picked my crap up and left but I NEED glasses. NEVER AGAIN WILL I GO THERE! I will also be telling my friends and family to AVOID that place. I should of NEVER had to explain myself to him!!!! I am VERY DISAPOINTED! I work in healthcare with the public daily, and I would NEVER pressure my patients into anything they did not want, or even speak to them that way. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! read more

I just purchased my second pair of glasses from Visionworks. Yes, you do have to "bargain" with the commissioned sales people, much like buying a new car! That is a hassle, but I finally got a somewhat high, but reasonable deal. With my first pair five years ago, I had a few problems that they were always willing to repair on site. This time I went with an upscale frame, and progressive lenses, with Transition (darkening), for driving in bright sunlight. Still almost $400.00 - Ouch! with no insurance coverage for eyeglasses. read more

I was very disappointed when your employee went off on a rant about people who are on Medicare / Medicaid not being responsible for themselves and instead needing handouts. This was in response to a woman who walked in and inquired as to whether or not Visionworks took Medicare / Medicaid. That was all she asked. To the customers face he suggested she try another vendor then when she left he went on a bender without even knowing her circumstances. VERY unprofessional and certainly NOT what we need in the world today. I was already leery of this place when they originally "fixed me up" with anti-glare coating as if they did me a favor. A $150 favor is what it was and I did not want it. Next time present the merits of this and let ME decide if I want to spend that money. I didn't. Fix your corporate culture folks cause you're acting like a rip-off joint. I'll shop around next time and will NOT recommend your company. read more
