Brought them back to be told they're scratch resistant not scratch proof so nothing can be done because I did not get the extended warranty. I purchased glasses there a few months ago and just broke the frames. I went back and a Shana helped me. She looked all around for another frame and than she called a few other stores to see if they had stock. The frames I needed were discontinued. But she went way above what I expected and told me to leave the frames and she will try to get the frame. I went back and she was off. But than a person named Isis came to the rescue and got me a new frame! The two of them were excellent and very caring. I recommend anyone needing glasses to go to Visionworks! read more

The optometrists and support staff are all very nice. The prices have always been high but are now ridiculous. I could buy three pairs of completely new glasses with lenses at Costco or other retailers for the price of replacing the lenses in my existing sunglasses. Got a notification my glasses were ready (took almost 4 weeks to come). I went to the location to pick them up and they cannot find them anywhere. They are lost. Their only solution was to reorder them. When I asked if I could get a refund so I could go somewhere else they told me it would take a few weeks to show up on my insurance as (not used) so I would have to wait anyway. This place is horrible!!!! Stay far away from them! Went to pick up glasses to them find out they ordered the wrong frames. The one employee tried to blame the mistake on me stating those were the frames I picked. Good thing I keep my receipts, the receipt showed the model number frames I originally picked. I don't wear glasses and was simply here with my boyfriend while he looked. First impression was wow, these folks are friendly! The mood quickly changed as we spent more time here. To start, the frames are overpriced. You can literally go anywhere else and the frames would be cheaper than they are here. Then when you want to try on frames, you have to touch a dirty old looking pair that are on display. The inside of the place itself is old and doesn't appear clean. To be fair, it probably does get a lot of traffic given its convenient location and the fact they accept most insurance plans. However, no excuse for having dusty fingerprint glasses on the sales floor for customers to try on. We were pushed around to multiple salespeople. One in particular seemed genuine and helpful - Levon. He gave good feedback and helped us to find pairs that worked. However, he was busy with other clients and we were "assigned" to a different associate, whos name I unfortunately forget. Right off the bat he told us he didn't like Levon's choices (they were on the inexpensive side). He was extremely pushy and obviously trying to get us to spend more money on expensive frames. He disregarded my boyfriend's taste and spending limit, and was shoving certain pairs he chose at us. When we said we'd have to think about it, he got an attitude and no longer wanted to help. If I could give this place zero stars I absolutely would. As soon as I walk in, one man greets me and lets me know to put any glasses I've touched in a bin and says if I need anything let him know- totally cool. Then minutes later another guy with a beard comes up to me as I'm trying glasses on and makes himself comfortable on the ledge and sits on the little bench of the eyeglass display. First of all, a little too close for comfort. Next he asks "so what are you looking for" and I just said "I'm good over here thanks though, when I see it I'll know". He didn't take my answer for face value and continued to pry in an aggressive way and he's like "well is that square, rectangle? what color, trendy or not trendy?" I'm like "just like these" (pointing to the bin of glasses I tried on) and "but I'm good if I need something I'll let you know". FINALLY then he left me alone and I felt extremely uncomfortable. Then to top it off, I was done trying things on and didn't like any of their selection - so I ask a different guy at the counter, "should I leave this bin here?" He's like "yeah what happened?" I said "no luck" and he says "try them on for me". I left there feeling absolutely disgusted. I understand you're salespeople, but refresh yourself on nonverbal cues and picking up when people do not want help and how your actions can make someone feel u comfortable. read more

I will start out by saying everyone in the store is very nice, that being said it was an awful experience. They did not get one thing right on mine or my husbands glasses. I ordered regular and sunglasses, picked out 2 different frames. 2 weeks later I got a call that they didn't write down the number of the sunglasses frames, can I come pick another pair. I say forget the sunglass order just get my regular glasses made. Finally they are done and they ordered the correct frames for that but wrong color. I accepted the "purple" frames because I was not going back there ever again. My husband on the other hand got his glasses in 3 weeks later than promised and they were not correct. The technician had measured wrong for his bifocals. They had to have them remade. What a nightmare. I would never recommend them. read more

The woman who entered my prescription into their system did so incorrectly and as a result my new glasses were unusable and had to be remade. She was there when I picked up the glasses and when she compared my prescription with what she had entered into the system, she realized she had made a mistake. She never acknowledged that she'd made an error and neither she nor anyone else ever apologized. It's the lack of apology-- which would've been so easy -- more than the error itself that results in the low rating. (And this is actually the second time this has happened to me at this store. I have been a patient with Visionworks for 20+ years. I made an appointment with them for my exam and glasses. When I arrived at the office, I was informed that my appointment was canceled. They apparently called to confirm my appointment. They did not leave a message nor did they call my cell phone. So because I never got a message to confirm, they just canceled the appointment. They never took into consideration that I have been a patient for 20+ years and have never missed or canceled an appointment. I drove 30 minutes to get there and they refused to see me. DON"T USE VISIONWORKS. You aren't a person just $$$ to them. SO long Visionworks, there are plenty of optical facilities out there and I am sure they will appreciate my business and my families business. read more

I ordered contacts, waited over a month just to find out they never put my order in. I called again, was told by Rad that he will call me in 10 min to check my benefits. Never called back. Doctor Gor was terrible. After explaining issues with contact lenses he brought out the glass to correct them to find new prescription. He said the lenses I had were "good enough" and had me order contacts that were not correct. He was dismissive of concerns, and seemed to be under the influence of some sort. Automated assistant when you call also does not understand anything you tell it. If it were not for the friendly staff I would push for a 0 star. I will not ever return to this establishment. This place fell apart when Dr. Glazer retired. read more

Not my first time there, not my first issue. The first time the sales guy was so pushy about transition lenses for my 16 year old that I had to push back twice as hard because he wasn't letting up. My son is not some 85 year old that needs his sunglasses during daylight. This time I just called them and said that I have insurance, but will not have the card until tomorrow. I gave the name and date of birth for my second son and the lady asked for the last 4 of my son's social security number. I said that I have coverage but the paperwork was just submitted today so the system wouldn't find them until then. She said that I would have to call back when I have the insurance information because I didn't want to give the last 4 of my son's social security number. I proceeded to say "I can't believe you won't make an appointment without the insurance information, it's like like I am going to the hospital, it's the eye doctor. I will just go somewhere else." Since when can I not make an appointment to see an eye doctor? What if I am uninsured? You do not need to validate coverage BEFORE my appointment, nor will I give out personal information like social security numbers or parts of social security numbers over the phone. Awful business practices and I understand your sub par reviews. One last thing, STOP pushing your doctors to use that fancy schmancy machine to check my retinas. Offer it as an option, and don't make it seem like you're going to go blind if you don't use it. read more

Worst patient care I've ever seen anywhere. The practice manager will cut you off when your trying to explain your problem and then call you condescending. They lie outta their ass to you in the eye exam during your fitting while you're waiting for your order. They'll never contact you when your contacts get there you'll have to call and wait on hold for 20 minutes oh and when they finally come in they'll order you the wrong kind as well. You're better off not being able to see than coming here. Don't bother. And again practice manager is rude and demeaning and doesn't know how to handle a complaint about her business. read more

In the past 2 year I have called and called about my contact lenses but no one answers the phone. now they are telling me they can't do anything about it. I have recorded all the times I called. finally got someone on the phone, she tells me that they had to send them back and get credited for it. I told her I didn't get credit for it why is that why did I pay you $350 and only get two boxes out of my order and you get refunded why is that. read more

Levon is a salesman at the Totowa shop. He is friendly, very knowledgeable, and cares about his customers. He will get you the best deal he can find. As a salesman, Levon isn't pushy. He's friendly! I took one star away because eye measuring isn't digital but Levon has got it down pat with his Sharpie. And the prices may rise if they do get that machine. The eye doctors all are very nice and knowledgeable too. Visionworks has come a long way. I bring my whole family there every year. Thanks Levon. read more

Visionworks falls in the same category as most large optometry networks. You don't get personalized service which is expected so no points lost there. The eye doctor, Dr. Golz, was pleasant. I wish they would have helped put my contact lens order through my insurance as other offices have in the past. I also can't say that the office is not clean. It felt clean enough for most. I am just a bit neurotic about COVID precautions and with my face right up in the same equipment as others are using, I wish I felt like the equipment was a bit more sterile. I also wasn't thrilled when one of the employees had his mask hanging out under his nose. He also tried to up-sell me for about 20 seconds and stopped once he realized that I wasn't having it. I'd go back if I found myself in the same situation I did when I booked the appointment. There wasn't a single eye doctors office close to me without an appointment a month or so out. I was able to get an appointment with this office the same week I tried booking. Let's hope by next year this won't be an issue and I can return to an office with a smaller, personal feel. read more

Dr. Glazer is wonderful. Very funny. I have had problems finding an eye dr. that I liked as much as the one I had gone to for years. Found one! Levon is incredible. It was super busy the night I was there, but he still took the time to make sure that I got the best price for what I wanted. Oh and they price match contacts so if you find somewhere cheaper you just have to show them the ad. You get to join their contacts club which can help you save on glasses. Just a word of warning if you are a new customer with contacts...they will make you come back to check to make sure your contacts are working for you even if you had been wearing them for years. Luckily I was planning on switching my contacts so it wasn't a complete waste of time. However, if I wasn't, I would have had to schedule multiple appointments for them to make sure that the contacts I had been wearing for 20 years were good for me. read more

I had a 1:30pm appointment, and I got here at 1:10 it is now 2:40pm and I still haven't been seen. I keep giving these people a chance hoping that they get there stuff together and they never do.
