Eye exam and contacts, I've been going to them for over a year now and have had no issues and was introduced to ortho k lenses to correct my vision and longer have to wear contacts during the day or glasses. Lixi was my sales associate and was very attentive. She helped me find the perfect pair or glasses that was covered under my insurance. She was very patient and friendly. Deceptive bait-advertising. Don't be fooled by the 50% off a complete pair of new glasses for VSP members promotion. It is a total lie. Poor customer service with a touch of bad attitude. The employees get very defensive when questioned about the company's misleading advertising. The store's frame offering is uninspiring and outdated. Going elsewhere. read more

They lost my frames.... I loved my old frames (got them custom made when I studied abroad in Germany) and went into the store just wanting to replace my lens with my renewed prescription. They took my frames, and one week later when I was passing by, I asked about the progress and they COULD NOT FIND MY FRAMES and have put my lens into someone else's frame. Apparently that has happened to multiple people over the course of ONE week, so DO NOT go in if you have your own frames and just wants new lens. read more

Upon entry I did not receive a greeting from any employees, they just sat at their desks and glared at me. When I asked for help one employee was not helpful at all. He acted as if he didn't want to have a conversation with me and repeated the same thing I said to him. Employees here are very nonchalant and not helpful. I will definitely not come back. read more

HORRIBLE MANAGER I have gone to Visionworks for many years and have never had a problem until recently. I went within the first two weeks of January to order my yearly supply of contacts. I was told they would take 2 weeks to arrive at the store and by then I would be back on campus, so I asked them to ship it to my P.O box at my college instead. They said it was no problem & I gave them the address and waited patiently. Towards the end of January I called asking about any updates to the status of delivery, I was told they had just reached the store that day and would be shipped to me soon. Much later, I haven't received any packages or heard from their office so I decided to call today. I was on the phone with the location manager, whose name I believe was Anh Shah, and it went downhill from there. He kept referring to me as "sweetie", which felt inappropriate and stated that there was NO information on what happened to my contacts. According to him, the package couldn't be traced, he insisted on giving me a call within the hour and that regardless of what happened to them, I would receive contacts in two days. About 3 hours go by and I don't hear from him so I called the store again, another employee answered but shortly put me through to Anh. It seems that as soon as he got on the phone, he had a negative attitude and was extremely combative. He kept cutting me off saying "I didn't call you because we didn't ship them out yet, we didn't ship them out." My only problem at the time was that he INSISTED on calling me as soon as he could regardless if there had been a change in the situation or not to keep me informed. He kept condescendingly calling me "sweetie" and acted as if I wasn't justifiably upset by the lack of customer service on their end. You can imagine my horror when I found out he was the manager. I have worked in customer service for 3 years and understand that people can have bad days, but the entire foundation of customer service is treating customers with respect. I never spoke rudely to him or called him out of his name. Even though I have waited over a MONTH for my contacts. Yet, he felt it was appropriate to speak harshly to me and call me out of my name. I have officially filed a complaint (something I have NEVER done in my life) because I truly felt disrespected and patronized. I will no longer be going to Visionworks and will be encouraging my family to do the same. His behavior was uncalled for and I will not stand for it. I advise everyone to think twice before going to Visionworks again. And steer clear of Anh Shah. read more

Updated a week after: After having my glasses for couple days, I noticed a difference to my old glasses. The new one is kind of unclear and dully eventhough I had polycarbonate lenses ( anti-glare, scratch resistant...) just like my old one. The light reflect more on my new lenses than my old one. I came back to the store and ask wheter my lenses are polycarbonate or maybe they put the regular one. They said it was polycarbonate lenses. I explained the difference to my old glasses to them.They also saw the difference. After a while, they told me the new lenses I had was polycarbonate lenses but came with percentage of coating for anti-glare. If I want it clear like my old one, I have to pay more for recommended coat.... What!? I'm sorry, I might not know this before but this was the first time I heard this. When I got my old lenses, they recommended me polycarbonate lenses for anti-glare and it was clear like a blue sky... No one told me in the beginning that polycarbonate lenses will come in percentage of anti-glare and I will have to pay more to see clearer... If you guys want customer pay more out of pocket, you should inform them from the beginning. I paid extra but the quality didn't even meet my old lenses. read more

Excellent Service and Selection As a first time glasses wearer, I was glad to have Jermaine at the Visionworks in First Colony mall walk me through the process and provide candid feedback on the right frames for my face. Super friendly and knowledgeable. I went there for my glasses because a few months ago they repaired my mother in law's glasses for free when she bent them on a fall. And I got two pair of starter frames and lenses for $89. Highly recommended. read more

The short of it: be prepared to spend hours with Mala or skip the frustration and request a manager or ask for Sarah (update). (Updated below) The positives: The optician and staff next door are terrific. Efficient and friendly - I couldn't have asked for a better experience. The eyeglass selection at Visionworks is extensive. Lots to choose from, and the frames, even name brands, are very affordable. The negative: Some service reps are frustratingly slow. It took Mala more than TWO hours to process (meaning type in) my order for glasses and contacts. When I asked about the delay - after about 90 minutes, she said the computer system is very slow. I told her that her two colleagues had served several people in the time that I was with her. She replied that every computer is different, so I suggested moving computers to which she said, "I'm almost done", which of course was code for, "It'll be another 30 minutes." After two hours and her inability to accurately quote my insurance benefits/coverage, I strongly suggested getting a manager, which she did, but only reluctantly. The manager did process my order more quickly but was not personable (although he was apologetic and faster and that is certainly better than slow). All that said, I left with neither glasses nor contacts. I was told it will take ten days to get them. It will truly be a miracle if either or both are correct. If they are and the service at pick up is better, I will certainly update this review. Update: Sarah was pleasant and efficient at pick-up, and my glasses and contacts arrived as ordered and 4 days sooner than expected. Thank you Sarah and Visionworks management. read more
