I stopped in to make an appointment and there was Cody, this guy was right on! He squeaked me in the next day and had all the answers to all my questions. I came back for the appointment and got with Uri , he had some serious tech skills with the equipment! Very highly skilled knowledge, all my questions answered plus!!!!! After Uri I got with Niq , she was helping me choose glasses and contacts, also good knowledge of brands, lenses types, locating the best prices and fit on the frames. My last encounter was Doc Braid, she was truly supa-dope ,funky fresh, kicked it live, with no jive and provided much good vision hope, faith and charity for my cause and explained all the equipment! I recommend this branch to all to all that have visual needs whether glasses contacts , and my orders were quick, fast and in a hurry!!!!! read more

I visited this location today as a new patient who was desperate to see an optometrist during this COVID-19 crisis. My regular optometrist would not see me and i had bilateral eye pain and needed glasses in order to even get through the day as my contacts were too painful to put in and my eyes were so irritated. Their cleanliness procedures during this virus outbreak were above what I've seen in most establishments. This meant a lot! They had a really good system and i watched them utilize it with each patient who walked in the door. The optometrist really listened to what i had to say and took time to answer a lot of my questions. She went above and beyond to make sure i had what i needed and gave me samples to use until my new glasses could come in the mail. She took her time with my concerns, and which is hard to find in any doctor these days. She was knowledgeable and patient. Since i was out of my coverage dates for insurance, i was paying out of pocket for my glasses (which i was extremely nervous was going to be absolutely outrageous). The younger lady who ordered my glasses for me was so so sweet and really did everything she could to lower the price for me. I am very very pleased with the frames i got and the price i paid. I paid way under what i expected to pay, which is extremely important as I've been laid off due to covid-19. She was also extremely patient and even helped me picked frames. She didn't rush me, and i was really pleased with how fast she was able to process everything. I had never been to a visionworks before, and honestly, this location is out of my way, but after today and experiencing the compassion and heart these employees have, i am strongly considering making this my new regular optometrist. read more

We have been loyal Visionworks customers for years. The entire family got their glasses from the West Mifflin store. The doctor was great but I had a disturbing experience with one or two of their staff. Enough to make me not want to ever patronize their business again. I will take my family somewhere else for our next visit. I contacted their Corporate office and it was more of the same. Take your business somewhere else. read more

I went to Vision Works because my employer no longer offered vision insurance and I thought I would take advantage of their buy one get one offer. I scheduled an eye exam at the Waterfront store. After the exam there was a long wait to have someone help me with glasses. They were busy and I understood. When it was my turn, I had already decided on the frames and just needed to have the measurements and what type of lenses, or protections that I wanted. I was surprised when I received a call, within a week, that my glasses were ready. I went to pick them up. Again, they were very busy and I waited my turn. When I put them on, I told the gentlemen that they seemed a bit blurry. I was told since this was my first pair of bifocals, it would take a little time to adjust. I took them home and tried for over a week to "adjust". I went back and they remeasured everything. I was told the bifocal was a bit off and they would correct it. Again, within a week, a received a call that my glasses were ready. Again, when I picked them up they seemed blurry. Again, I was told I needed to "adjust". Again, I worked for about a week and called to say they were not working. They rescheduled an eye exam to make sure the prescriptions were correct. Everything was fine and was told give it a little more time. I contacted Vision Works customer service. Told them my story. They suggested I go to a different store before I went through the process of a refund. So.... I went to the store in Southland Shopping Center. Met a very nice young man who helped me immensely. He checked my glasses to find the sunglasses were a completely different prescription than the regular glasses. The measurements were off and one bifocal was lopsided. So he suggested we start from the beginning. I had an eye exam, the prescription was accurate, the glasses were wrong. They sent my glasses out for a "remake". When I picked them up, I was immediately able to see out of them. I even wore my sunglasses home, without incident. I went to work the next day and have been wearing these glasses ever since. Thank you for not telling me I just needed to "adjust" to the glasses and you really listened to me. I gave a 3 star to balance out the very poor service at the Waterfront store to the excellent service I received the Southland Store. read more

I've been going here a couple years and I have dealt with some very nice people and I have dealt with some major mistakes and inconveniences. But this last one was the final straw for me. I am not one of those people who complain to complain, really. A couple months ago, I had gone and seen a really great doctor there who did an absolutely great job with my exam. I ordered 2 boxes of my particular brand. I was a little late picking them up, and didn't open the new box right away. After a week of wearing the new contacts, I was noticing I could barely see (despite the doctor telling me that my vision should be perfect 20/20) and that they were super uncomfortable - I knew something wasn't right, so I called. The first person I talked to told me that I would just have to come in with the boxes and they'd figure it out then. I really didn't have the time to come in, but I really need to get contacts before I go on vacation in a couple weeks; so I said that I would be in sometime that evening after work. Then about an hour later, I randomly got a call from the contacts person. They said they were looking at my file and that a Dr. Patel (a lady doctor) ordered those particular contacts. But I had seen a guy doctor - Dr. Patel was the year before. Now, I remembered that I had tried these contacts before as one of the trials and didn't like them - because they were uncomfortable. So clearly they had ordered from the wrong chart and wasn't even the right ones - and a completely different year and a different doctor. When I tried to explain this to the woman, she wasn't understanding what the problem was and I had to argue. After she explained that my file was "a mess" and when I asked how can we fix this? She said that well we can put in an order for the new ones and we'll call you. 2 days later, I get a call saying that a pair of trials had arrived and the box for my left eye is backordered until July. So now I'm screwed for my vacation. Their disorganization of my file and poor attention to detail is why I won't go back. This is also not the first time something was mis-ordered. Last year I went and they didn't order the full amount of contacts I paid for. I had to wait for the rest of them to come in and make another trip out. I have worked myself in bad places myself, and the signs are clear. The doctors are always great, but you can honestly tell that the employees here do not communicate very well and obviously there is an issue with organization of one's file. So bottom line: great for an eye exam. Just order your contacts online, don't waste your time ordering through here. read more

Absolutely horrible customer service. I Was 7 minutes late for appointment due to work, after being told to stand over there until they check me in, the receptionist Snidley said they have a 5 minute late policy. Been coming here for 4 years...never evet again....there was 3 workers in the store and 1 patient besides me, I am a professional hospital worker and have never written a bad review before, just beside myself that I was treated this way...horrible read more

I walked in to inquire about purchasing two pair of glasses. A female employee asked if I had an appointment and I told her no. The female employee then stated that she couldn't help me because I had to make an appointment. I looked around the store and I was the only person in the store with the exception of three employees who were just standing there. I asked if I could just point out two pairs of glasses to get an out the door price for when I came back. The female again stated she couldn't help me because I didn't have an appointment. I was particularly annoyed because what I was asking would've taken about two minutes of their time and there was not one other person in the store. I found their customer service to be lacking and I felt that the employees were being quite lazy. I understand fears of Covid and all but there was really no excuse for the extremely poor customer service that they exhibited. read more

Was turned away for being less than 10 minutes late. Their previous policy was as long as you're within 10 minutes of your appointment that there was not an issue about being seen. When I walked in it was 126. Exactly 6 minutes after my appointment to be fair I thought my appointment was at 1:30 so I actually thought I was early. I had my two small children with me and doing anything with kids during covid-19 is very challenging. There was a person in front of me when we came in and then when we got clocked in the ask me a very large amount of questions which I'm used to that's not the problem and then when we went down we sat down we're getting settled and this is when they decided to tell me that I had coming too late. Now I need you to keep in mind that when I came in I was maybe a minute late at that point according to their clocks. But I already came in clocked in did all the covid-19 for checking me in on time and then said that I wouldn't be able to be seen I've already been waiting two months for this appointment and they said that it would be at least another two months before I could come in. I was coming into the office because I've been having severe migraines and you did an emergency appointment so I can be seen by the doctor. This all could be forgiven if then she didn't insult my parenting and then when I spoke to the manager the manager again insulting me when I asked her if she understood what it's like to have children and I said I didn't know about a new policy. She said oh yeah we have this new policy that do the Covid they are only giving a five-minute window now again I can understand things like this but in the email I received the phone call I got from an associate and a text message that I got nowhere in any of these three methods of them contacting me prior to my appointment did anybody say anything about those policy change based on their policy prior to this incident I would have been perfectly fine within the guidelines of being able to be seen in fact I was definitely on time. When I express this to her the manager even slipped up and said that this was a brand-new policy and when I asked her why this was not brought to my attention she had no answer. When I said that I would need to be seen immediately and if it would have just seen me all of the time that they waste it arguing with me was irrelevant the point that I am trying to make is there was no customer service when I asked to be heard they just kept repeating the policy over and over again I got a policy that nobody had informed me of and there is no posting of this policy anywhere in the building because I did look read more

I love going here to get my glasses. The people are wonderful and the selection is excellent! I've gotten 4 pairs of glasses from this location over the past 2 years and they are the best glasses I've ever had. They've even replaced lenses in my old frames for me. If I could give this place a -10 stars I would. I went eye glass shopping. Horrific customer service I was not even acknowledged for over a half hour after I selected my frames. As soon as I walked up and started heading for a door then someone noticed me. I sat with a Becky whom was pleasant until the end. Once she told me the appalling price of how much 2 frames and lenses are with insurance I began to question her math. As to earlier I was told that it was BOGO on the frames and I would have to pay for lenses. Then, once I sat down and began working out a price the frames it became Insurance and 50% off the second pair when I told the receptionist that I was using insurance prior to shopping for glasses. So basically I felt lied to because the promotions kept changing on how much glasses would cost. As soon as I began to question the price breakdown the sales representative hurried up and pushed me out the door. Now later to find out that they are holding my insurance very sneakily so I can only shop with that particular store. Now I have problems going to get glasses from any other provider. I would NEVER shop their in my life not even if you would pay me to. That is how horrendous this business is. read more

If I could give this location 0 stars I would. Avoid this location at all cost! I have worn glasses almost my whole life. I typically visit the waterfront location and never had a problem. I decided to try the pleasant hills location since it's closer to my house. Yesterday I came for my eye exam and literally was no longer than 2 minutes which was strange for an eye exam. She never asked me if I could see after putting my new prescription together or to read any lines. I came today to pick my up glasses and tried them on. Could not even focus! Vision was extremely blurry WITH the glasses on! I had a gut feeling my prescription was going to be wrong. Even the vision works employee could tell right away something was wrong as soon as I put the glasses on. So now I have to come back for the 3rd time in 3 days for a new exam after I demanded to be seen by a different doctor. This doesn't even count for the 4th visit I will have to make once I have to come pick up my NEW glasses. I will never come back to this Visionworks after this! read more
