I have used the Pearland facility several times for glasses, off and on. Sometimes they have great service and at other times it is pretty bad. I and my wife ordered our eyeglasses recently and received them fairly fast. I encountered a problem with the fit of my wife's glasses. I had to ask the rep to fit them. I had problems with my glasses and returned them after 3 weeks for a Re-do. Again I received them fairly fast. I received a text this morning saying the glasses were ready for pickup. I arrived at approximately 2:25 PM, there was only one person working there. He was with another customer and asked me if I was there to pickup glasses. I told him yes and he said he would be with me shortly. At 2:35 another person came in and went straight to the backroom. I assumed she was on break. At 2:40 I left, since it became apparent that the clerk was not going to be done anytime soon with the customer. He just didn't have the time to walk over and give me my order. I guess Vision Works wants to make sure that they are okay. The same previous frames just new lenses and I can do a better job adjusting my own glasses. So why doesn't Vision Works ask you to make an appointment for pickup, and why can't this place keep some of the good customer service clerks. Or better yet, why don't you have the option to receive the glasses via mail. Regardless, this will be my last pair of glasses from vision works. read more

I get my testing done elsewhere, but shop for the deals on glasses and lenses. I came in on a Thursday and sat down with B. She went through the options. I told her I'd think about it and come back. I came back on Friday, and B had just left. So I spoke with another employee. She ran the numbers and I was quoted the incorrect numbers the day before and my quote was $200 higher. I'm a bit bummed, I wanted those frames. I don't think it was intentional, but it wasted a lot of time. Both time off, and time driving through 288 rush hour. Likely won't go back. read more

I bought at 5/5/2019 and I noticed 08/01/2019 left lens has a lot of lines , but not on right side . And the women who was working over there told me it's happened because the heat inside the car made that problem on the lens , my question is why not both lens ?? If I can put 0 star I would My purchased not even 100 days , they don't want warranty coz I'm not buying extended warranty. Went to go pick up my glasses. They came in 3 days before the promise date. However, when I tried them on, I could tell they were not right. The sales associate was very pleasant in informing me that I had 60 days to get a new prescription and get them corrected for free. This place has some of the rudest employees I've come across. For one, since the pandemic, they were asking customers they could only come in by appointment, which is fine, but who would think you'd need an appointment just to PICK UP GLASSES? Then when you tell them you didn't realize you'd need an appointment just for that, they literally laugh and roll their eyes! Try putting that info on your website or let customers know when you text or call to say their glasses are ready for pick up. I've seen two other customers come in for the same thing and they also got attitude from the employees. These employees also talk about customers under their breath, which is rude and extremely tacky. I don't know who the manager is but there is only one nice person I've seen there; I should've got her name but didn't. She may have been the manager because she had tact. They need to get rid of the current employees and get people who know how to talk to customers in a polite way and not talk to them like we're dumb! On top of that, they seem to make up prices for glasses and lenses...etc. The last person my husband and I saw, the girl was adjusting the price so many times, just by clicking in numbers on the calculator. I don't even know where she got some of the numbers from. She was able to adjust the price by $50+. Seems shady! I will no longer be going back. read more

Expensive! Staff need more improvement dealing with the customer. First, at the time of my appointment one staff (colored girl with hair color) was so loud dealing with customer over the phone (She is so argumentative!). Horrible customer service, the ladies are rude and blunt. You can tell they don't care about anything but are more then happy to swipe one's card. Will never be returning here ever. I asked for a repeat of my previous years glasses and the bill came out to twice as much. My attendant padded my bill of which I had to have corrected the next day. Later I called the store for a copy of my receipt and was given a number to call. After nearly 20 minutes on hold customer service said I called the wrong department and said they would transfer me to the right of which after 6 minutes I was hung up on. Very happy with TJ. It was neat to find out that she was from the city next to my hometown in PA. I already had my frames picked out from a previous visit. TJ did all the measurements and informed me of all the options that were available. Mainly wear contacts so just needed back up so just got the basic. She also answered our questions about cost for my husband's spare glasses which we will be ordering soon. Can't wait to get them, my lenses needed to be ordered. read more

This place is the worst, we had been going to CustomEyes in the Pearland Town Center, our new insurance is not accepted there and regret ever walking into this place of "business". All five of us got our exams and went to fill our prescriptions Clara sat down with us and proceeded to work the numbers, with insurance it came out to over $500 for 4 pairs of glasses my oldest son opted for nothing at all just glasses no coatings. She kept adding "coatings and treatments" to the rest of them. She drew a diagram explaining my progressive lenses the doc suggested I get (no line distance/intermediate/reading), I agreed and paid. I picked them up and I get Varilux (not what we discussed) and those won't work for the type of work I do, she tells me I got the best possible lenses available and just have to get use to them! I proceed to explain I can only read at the very bottom of the lens with my head tilted way back and only the center of the page is clear, warped and distorted? This can't be correct for the "best" lens available! Plus the double talk is ridiculous! First she says Varilux is not good then it's the best. Really? She couldn't even keep her stories correct, plus she kept telling me her glasses are $800 then $1000 and I couldn't and wouldn't like her HD lenses or couldn't handle them! But she would be happy to take my money and order those for me! I was so mad I walked out to cool off, my wife had to talk me down from the ledge! I came back a few minutes later and just asked for a refund at this point the manager said she would reorder the correct lenses at no charge. Well I'm back and now they tell me I have to wait two hours to swap them out wow never once did they mention it would be s wait to do this (that's kind of important to let your customer know this detail), oh and Eric! He is the picture of excellent customer service and such a winning personality (can you sense the sarcasm here), I'm telling you customer service is lost on this place and will NEVER EVER be back or recommend this place to anyone! I will go out of my way to let all my friends know not to use Visionworks Pearland too. read more

When I was in there with my son, the staff was openly talking negatively about another customer that just left who I'm guessing had an issue that she wanted resolved. When I went to pay for my glasses, a lady with long bleached blond hair swiped my card but when I asked if I was paying for high index glasses, she said no and quoted me something twice as much. I told her I wasn't sure I was ready to pay that much and asked to wait. She quickly side-eyed me and clearly annoyed that I changed my mind, and proceeded to tell me why I was wrong. I asked her to be nicer but said she continued to tell me why I was wrong. A lady with short black hair came quickly to help refund me. They can't possible care about service in this place. Im almost positive they proceeded to speak negatively about me once I left the same way they were with the customer before me. Not a nice place. Stay away. read more

I typically do not write negative review but I must do for this one. Horrible experience! This place is listed as one of the providers for my insurance but yet does not honor the benefit. My insurance covers $90 for frames and 20% discount on any overage. $5 copayment in the lenses and $35-60 for anti-glare coating. My total bill for the single vision with anti-glare coating was $540 and $274 after the insurance. I was asked how soon I need the glasses, and I said "I guess as soon as possible". She then went to the back and came back to me saying that they has the lenses that fit my prescription so I can pick up on the following day. I used my healthcare spending card to pay for the glasses. Seven days later, I got a call from the healthcare spending card provider saying that the Visionworks has not submitted the claim to my insurance and I need to provide them with the evidence of benefit. I called the Visionworks and was told it will take 7 days to file the claim ( it has already been 7 days by the way). Also, I asked why my lenses are $100 each instead if $5 copayment? I was told that I requested "rush" order and the lenses are not covered by the insurance. She said if I don't like it just to return the glasses. I asked if I can get the lenses covered by the insurance, and was told that it will be "thick and heavy". I then called the main office for the Visionworks. I was told that they have 180 days to file the claim and it could take 30 days to refund my money if I decide to return. I was also told that I was charged $5 copy for the lenses but I got all types of different coatings on the lenses, which is bringing up the price. On the same day, I went back to the store I got the glasses. I was told that they cannot "match" my insurance and asked me to return the glasses, which I did. As soon as I handed her the glasses, she immediately threw the glasses in the trash can. I called my insurance company and filed formal complaint. Be aware of their shady pricing scheme especially when you have a insurance!!! read more

While others may have had a good or great experience, I DID NOT! Shanell and Sherebia (names maybe mispelled), both of their customer service was terrible. Sherebia was short and rude, with no concessions for the customer. Shanell on the other hand, was just combative, argumentive, and constantly went back and forth, obviously needing to have the last word and blaming me, the customer because my glasses are not suitable and no longer fit properly. She insisted that the glasses were not defective and that i was doing something to make them loose and not fit properly. I basically just walked out because I was beyond frustrated and angry, at this point. No clerk should be arguing back and forth with any customer. I WILL NEVER VISIT ANY VISIONWORKS BECAUSE OF THIS, NOT PEARLAND, SUGARLAND, MEMORIAL CITY- NONE OF THEM. GOODBYE, AND think about hiring people with better customer service skill, or at least re-train or teach them, or FIRE Them! BTW, I was a customer for many many years, at different locations. I won't be making any recommendations until you people realize that our dollars matter, and we don't have to accept horrible treatment at the hands of your employees, in your business' name! read more

I stopped in on a Sunday afternoon. I was promptly greeted and assisted with finding a pair of glasses. I had already been to two other stores and wasn't completely happy with my selection. I had to decide whether to use insurance benefits for frames or contacts. Here I was able to get the best value by using my benefits for contacts and then receiving 50% off my frames and lenses for my glasses purchase. My questions were answered efficiently and the check out process was quick and painless. Making this an easy process for my very indecisive self. read more

Let me start off and say I have been here at least 4 times so this isn't some random odd day they were having. Today will be the last time I will ever walk in to this business. Every time I walk in here I feel like I'm being taken advantage of. This time I went prepared, I printed out my insurance payout itemization sheet. As usual their "computer" worked the numbers, and when I came up with a different number (nearly a $40 difference) and told them, they said there was nothing they could do about it and that I was wrong. I pulled out my sheet and explained to them that I know my benefits, and just used them last week and my calculations were exact. She then says she does this for a living and knows them too, well I beg to differ. I asked them then to print out my daughters prescription so I could go elsewhere and they said they couldn't. I took my son last week to Eyes and Optics of Pearland and had a wonderful experience from start to finish, they are very thourough. When it was time to pay for the exam and glasses Dr. Thomas and I came to the exact same amount. They have everything right there. I will be taking my daughter there tomorrow now and they will become my new eye care place. If you want personal care and honest people go to Eyes and Optics of Pearland. read more

This is my first time (as a young adult) going through the process of using my own insurance. My exam at the west chase location was fine, but with it being a bit of a drive I decided to come closer to my home in pearland.. From the moment I walked in felt pressured which wasn't a big deal until it came to my bill. The "General Manager" David if I'm not mistaken, helped me through the process which wasn't much help at all: Claiming my insurance only consist of either glass OR contacts I had to pay for the most expensive (glasses). I had spoke with my insurance prior to walking in the door so When it came to close out my tab David the "GM" had my bill up to 380$ for charges that was never brought to my attention so I was very confused. I was able to bring my bill down to 170$ (Which is still to expensive if they wasn't being lazy and called my insurance to confirm that I was right- I do get BOTH). So when I left out feeling unsure I called my insurance and I was advised to go else where because of my rip off. When I went back to get a refund by a lady name Annie? (Who I believe may be the store manager) she was happy to give me a refund. Although she felt the need to prove her case saying she's worked there for over 10 years Yadda Yadda Instead of being apologetic and try and fix the problem like a normal manager. And I also would've been fine with paying the 170$ if my insurance didn't cover it. But you get ONE box of contacts(which is what I got) and ONE pair of glass (which is also what I got AND paid for which I shouldn't have) I'm don't typically write reviews but I was so angry at the two "managers" I felt others should know where NOT to go. read more

I stopped in the other day to get a pair of glasses/ contacts at your Pearland location. As soon as I walked in Clara greeted me with a warm welcoming. And right away assisted me. She listened to my needs and wants. As too I have not worn glasses in over 10 years. She knew exactly what pair I needed. And in fact she knew, I had Fall in love with the pair she picked out for me. I was very impressed. Clara showed me of coarse other pair of glasses to show me options. Which I loved the fact she went the extra mile to get what I needed. Clara is amazing at what she does and my experience was the best ever. It satisfies me to know that there's still people that LOVE what they do. It amazed me how much knowledge she had, and how she spoke to me with such love and car. I will be returning to Clara very soon. Thank you for all of your help. read more
