I only called to advise that I would be 5 minutes late due to having lost my keys at work. The reply was that they were closing early to get employees home before the ice. While I can understand safety, that should have been a call made this morning!!! The Winter Weather Advisory does not even apply to our area. On the other hand, it's been in effect since 2pm. So, either way, my appointment either should have been honored or I should have been notified earlier of the cancellation! Then I was offered an appointment for tomorrow.... which, by the way, is when the ice will actually arrive to our area! We will be finding a new provider.

The setup required her to look through the eye machine at a wall mirror reflecting letters from a screen above and behind her. As my daughter tried to read the letters, we could clearly hear the technician sighing in frustration. A child deserves patience, encouragement, and clear instructions during an eye exam--not to feel rushed or like an inconvenience. The technician's attitude became uncomfortable enough that I cut the exam short and politely left. Based on our experience, I would not recommend this location for children.

Right off the bat, the assistant(don't know her actual title, sorry) was very friendly as we walked in the door. She was patient with me as I made the necessary adjustments. It didn't take long at all for them to find the new provider and pull the information up. From there, we moved right into the pre-screen. They absolutely made my day when they whipped out a fancy new light gun which replaced the air puff machine. That shaved fifteen minutes from my visit easily! The actual exam went by quickly and I was happy to hear that my insane prescription didn't change at all . CustomEyes Pearland was highly rated so I decided to give them a try. Scheduling was pretty easy. I went online and requested an appointment and was called back in a fair amount of time to finish. Their office is located right off 288 and Broadway, easy to get to and has plenty of parking. I arrived early as requested and there was still a bit of a wait even after my appointment. We started off with all the usual tests prior to seeing the doctor. Times have changed when it comes to yearly exams. There is alot of new tests they recommend which also comes with more out of pocket expenses. I found the front desk and others to be straight business without the service with a smile. It's not a must, but it does make you feel a little more welcome. I saw Dr. May on my visit and she was a pleasure to see. Super friendly and very knowledgeable. She ordered a few trials for my contacts and sent my on my way. After that is where I felt service went downhill. I have high astigmatism and I knew there would be a wait, but it was almost 3 weeks without a call from the office. I called once and they said they would get back to me and they didn't. The next time I called about a week later, they said one of the two trials were there and waiting to be picked up. How was I supposed to know that without a call. The same thing happened with my second trial. I just found it odd that I had to reach out every time. Needless to say, though I liked the doctor I saw, the overall customer service left alot to be desired. I didn't even end up using my yearly benefits here. When we got there at 10:15 and got unloaded from the van, the doors were closed and I called the # on the door and Diane said that they were running late and would be there by 10:30 am. She seemed to think that since our appointment was 10:30 am it was not a problem (just guessing). She did not give an explanation for being late. I thought about the fact that we were trusting this business to be reliable and dependable and since they were not even open on time, we decided not to stay and wait. Our transportation van did not want to leave us there without the office being open. Diane called me when we were on our way home. She said that they were there now. I told her that we decided not to see them since they were not able to be there on time and that we did not trust them to take care of our new lenses and would go somewhere else. Diane got an attitude when she said fine. I did not understand why she would have an attitude since they were late and not us. She seemed to feel that since our appointment was for 10:30 that I did not have a reason to not want to go there, even though she did not say that.
