We were given very little choices as to where we could go per our new insurance. The frames VisionWorks had, that were covered by our insurance, were surprising decent and more than acceptable. I had an incorrectly written RX for which they were happy to redo my lenses. And finally because of my eyes problems, my glasses required special tweaking, which was also done. Made an appointment. Arrived for appointment and was told they cancelled it because they needed insurance info ( which i provided when I made the appointment) They said they called several times. They never left a message. My mailbox has never been full and is set up. I took my child out of school for this appointment. Amazingly, they were able to see her anyways. This pertains to the Ridge Park location. In November 2025, I had the most appalling experience in attempting to get a new prescription and glasses. On November 3, I had an appointment for a new prescription that felt rushed, but I did not think mich of that at the time. Mainly, the doctor seemed to be suggesting which lens settings were correct for me before I could fully answer. Two weeks later, when I went to pick up my new glasses, the opthmologist never measured them on my face. Rather, he merely had me read one line off a laminated card on his desk. I felt this odd but went home with the glasses. At home, it was immediately apparent that all 3 pair were faulty. I was unable to see clearly in the bottom third to half of the lenses. Among other concerns, my most worrisome was an increased risk of falling. I contacted the shop and was given a 2nd appointment for which I had to take time from work. That appointment with the same doctor also felt rushed despite my attempts to slow her down. When I went to the store on November 22, the same ophthalmologist ran to service me. Again, his only attempt to check the quality of the 3 replacement pairs was to show me the laminated card. Right there, I compared my vision in the lower part of the lenses for each of the 3 replacement pairs against my old glasses, and all 3 pairs had the same issue as the problematic original 3 pairs. The ophthalmologist quickly became agitated, refused to physically measure the glasses against my face, referred to a machine he called the "textbook measuring tool" and implied that my issues were because I did not wear glasses correctly on my face. He loudly proclaimed his credentials and accused me of berating him. I made sure to keep my voice down and choose my words carefully while still pressing my concerns. This opthmologist's tone and agitation ramped up almost instantaneously. The end result is that he actually loudly told me to leave the store. My wife remained in the store to ensure we were put in for refunds and that my insurance would be put in for reinstatement. At this writing, I did receive the refund for the 3 pairs of glasses but I have no idea if the insurance has been reinstated. I have no new glasses. I am still upset about having been expelled from a crowded store for nothing that was my fault, by a client-facing person who clearly does not have the temperament for addressing legitimate customer service issues. Both the doctor's office and the actual store at this location provided the most appalling experience I've ever had in any health care related circumstance. Something more must be done to address this before I escalate these concerns elsewhere read more

As was verified by eye doctor, they then proceeded to lie to me about how long it would take for the insurance to be available to go to another provider, Management refused to give number of corporate office to follow through with reinstatement of benefits, quote its online Vision works .com look it up. Was contacted by both their regional and corporate managers told they will talk to their people the rest is company policy and they would expedite the request to the insurance company. This did not happen as of this morning a week later insurance company has received nothing. They even went as far as falsifying the response to the better business bureau. She is the first person who knows her "stuff". She understands face shape, angles, and everything involved in finding the right frames. I think she is more excited to see my frames when they come in. I been going here for 5-6 years. Well not anymore! So I come in today they tell me that no doctor was coming in until 2pm. My appointment was at 11:40 oh and they cancelled on me 3x prior!! This appointment was the 3rd time they cancelled on me. Well luckily I was off but if I had to request off I would of lost out on money from my job and it still a waste of time! I had no courtesy call nothing!!! Every time I come in there's new receptionist every single time. Very unprofessional and that was my last straw. I will contact corporate about this. I can't believe they cancelled on me 3x NOT one courtesy call and the 2nd time I called to verify my appointment they proceed to tell me that they called me but I never received a call only the first cancellation. It was a emergency for the doctor but the 2nd time "oh we have no doctors in today" well why did you schedule me for that day and not call? Then today no doctor until 2 why schedule me again when there's no doctor?! Just unbelievable!! If I could I would leave a 0 stars. I have frequently had bad luck lately whenever I make an appointment, no matter where I go (dentist, doctor, etc) where I show up early to the appointment and have to wait at least an hour after my appointment time because someone is running behind... So, rather than have that experience, I called and asked about walking in. The receptionist said it was a risk, but we could try. And because I can't just do the easy thing, I walk in with my sister and brother-in-law. The receptionists were a little odd -- not rude necessarily, but not welcoming -- and kept asking if we had insurance. And reminded us that because we didn't have an appointment, we would be seen when the doctor had time and that he takes his lunch at 1pm (90 minutes from when we came in). But no problem - we were trying to do 3 walk in appointments. Understandably an unreasonable request. The three of us were all seen within 20 minutes. I thought the doctor was excellent - he was fast an efficient. He asked all the right questions - you know, the ones you don't want to answer (yes I sleep in my contacts, yes I know its gross and dangerous) - but never made you feel judged. And I also have a panicky problem when they're doing the vision test to find your prescription. When they ask what looks better, "One or two? Two or three?" I feel rushed and afraid of picking the wrong answer because it'll screw up the way I view things for the next year... So much pressure! But he never made me feel that way. Receptionists also improved once they had our insurance paperwork. Vision test A+ The ladies on the glasses side were super friendly and nice. They were helpful without hovering. Provided all the options for glasses and upgrades without making it feel like it was a hard upsell. I did not feel comfortable purchasing my glasses from this location. The entire place reeked of body odor and nobody seemed to have answers to my questions. I wasn't asking about anything off the wall, just what options I could add and what it would cost me with my insurance. I had to tel them what my insurance covered. I went elsewhere. The new store is bright and there is a huge selection of frames in all price ranges. The staff is knowledgable and helpful. They don't work on commission. I went for one pair of glasses and the price was so good I got reading glasses too. They have a buy one get one deal but also a coupon to discount your age. I'm 66 so it was a great discount from already reasonable prices. My boyfriend also got 2 pairs (one is a sunglasses). They had to redo mine because they were progressives and I wanted the reading area up higher. No problem. Fast service. No charge. Best glasses I've had in several years.
