Early Monday morning, because they don't answer the phones until 9am, I called to reschedule because we wouldn't be able to make the appointments. This would give them about 7 hours notice. The receptionist rescheduled us for later in the week and then informed me that since I hadn't called 24 hours in advance, we would be charged $30 per appointment. First of all they are not open on Sunday so I called as soon as I was able to get them on the phone and second I didn't even cancel, I rescheduled. I said "Just cancel everything please because that is ridiculous". If this is their level of Customer Service I do not want them as my provider and they obviously don't need my business.

Called 3 times to make my contacts order. The team member end up emailing me their app with my contact order but the total cost due did not include my insurance benefits. After calling the office manager, the staff member finally called me today. As for billing, I had incurred a charge since last year and was constantly asked about paying it. I explained that there should not be a charge and to please explain what it's for. Finally after 13 months of the back and forth I received notification last week that it was a mistake and I don't owe you. Not sure I'll be back after all the hassle.

I work in a medical clinic so I understand the demand and pressure staff can encounter on a daily basis; however, it falls on staff to be prepared. I arrived at 9:59am for my 10:00am appointment on Saturday and stood inside the door (because it's Texas and hot in August, go figure) and was told " we are trying to stop the alarm!!!!" In a not so 10:00ish voice so early on a beautiful Texas day. There was a huff and puff like I should not have shown for my appointment at all, but most importantly on time.....the nerve of me..... Here is a tip.....for free to the office staff...... 1). Adjust your attitude 2). Arrive to YOUR office 10 minutes early to prepare for alarms and to log into your computer 3). I have to come back to pick up my contacts, if greeted again with such an attitude, you will get exactly what you give........ I had a progressive lenses and was never able to use them. I went back to the doctor twice and the prescription was off. Dr. Shrum always takes time to talk with me and address my concerns and I never feel rushed or like 'just another patient'. Bonnie handled my fitting for my new glasses. She was new to me at this location but was an absolute joy to work with. She was kind and had a great awareness for people and made my visit pleasant. I had to leave my old glasses for processing and when I went to check out, Donna even loaned me a pair of readers to hold me over till my glasses come in. She could have sold me a pair for $30 but no, she put the customer first... almost unheard of in today's society. There is no question that Dr. Shrum and his staff are top notch medical providers, but they are also at the top of their game in customer service.
