I have been going to Visionworks for several years without much of a problem, UNTIL this year, they had to send my glasses back 5 times & still never got them right, I gave up wasting my time taking them back again. Seen 2 different eye doctors & one would say that I had this eye problem, while the other would say my eye problem was something totally different. Now I have to wait 2 years before I can go anywhere else, due to my vision insurance (unless I pay $$$$ out of my pocket). After this, I can not & will not recommend the Ashland Ky Visionworks to anyone. read more

I went there today and ordered glasses. I was told that I could pick them up in 2 days after 4 pm. I drove back home (an hour away) and when I checked my emails found I had one from Visionworks saying my glasses were ready for pickup!! I didn't have time to turn around and make it back to the store before they closed. Had they told me it would be such a short wait, I definitely would have hung around and waited for them! read more

First time I went there 3 years ago, my daughter and I were walk-ins and I totally get that they work walk-ins in between their actual appointments, but we sat there for 2 hours and every time that I would go up to the desk, they would say well you are next. I even asked to just get an appointment scheduled and told the same thing and there were just not enough people with appointments coming in to justify 2 hours. Decided to give them the benefit of the doubt from previous visit and scheduled appointments. Prices were a tad bit ridiculous and that was with insurance. I was instructed that my insurance had to receive the lenses and order and produce them through an outside vendor. After 4 weeks, I contacted the store to ask about my husband's glasses and my glasses. They had been in for almost 2 weeks but we never received a call, and I have caller id (or they could've left a voice message). Girl made several excuses for us not receiving a notification. IF (and that would be a big "IF") I use them again, it will only be for an actual eye exam. I had way better luck and pricing through Walmart and Sams Club! Not a happy camper! read more

First of, the manager Jeff is amazing. Unfortunately the rest of the staff that I dealt with had no clue what they were doing. In the last 2 years I've ordered 3 pair of glasses. The last time I ordered some prescription sunglasses. They took way longer than the normal 2 weeks to get them. They finally get them finished and they weren't even close to my prescription. The color was a maroon tint, which was also way off. Before they came in I was lied to multiple times about the lenses being in or not. I took them back in and dealt with Jeff this time. After spending little time, I found our more with him then I did dealing with the rest of the crew. He discovered that they didn't measure the height of my eye. Nor did they realize they weren't polarized. So Jeff decided to order me new lenses. That was 3.5 weeks ago. I called on Monday and they told me the eta was 03/10. I called on that date and they said the new eta was 10/17. Needless to say I was looking at 2 months just to get the correct glasses. I got my money back and decided to go elsewhere. It's unfortunate that they lost a customer and had to get a crappy review. At this point I'd rather to go to Walmart before going back. read more

Placed an order for my daughters replacement glasses after hers were broken. Was told over the phone they'd be ready in 3 days. Called back three days later to check on the status , and the representative could not even locate the order for the new glasses. She told me she would "try to figure it out" and give me a call back. 3 more days passed and I called back. New representative said no order was ever placed. At this point my 9 year old had not had glasses for a full week of school and she has pretty terrible vision. Representative then placed the order for the glasses with a turn around time of TWO MORE WEEKS. We received them exactly 2 weeks later, after a grand total of 20 days of being ran around and my daughter not being able to see. I have used Visionworks for several years and previously had very good and quick service so I've chose to let it slide as this is the first real issue I've ever had with them. However, there are other eye doctors that can probably get you your glasses much quicker truthfully. Especially in an emergency situation. read more

What a waste of money and time. I will not suggest vision works to anyone. I will be going to a real optometrists. If the the prescriptions don't match. I will be turning u over to the better Better Business Bureau . read more

This place has been amazing. Was taken back quickly after I arrived for my appointment, the service was terrific, Dr Pernell was very helpful, and I made it out of the store without a hitch. Later, I felt like my co tact's weren't quite up to snuff, so I walked in and they took me back for a review within 10 minutes. Changed my prescription and gave me a fresh pair for free. Fast forward to me losing the contact out of my right eye BEFORE my full set had arrived, and they took care of me AGAIN! This will definitely be where I get my vision care from now on. read more

I went in around noon on June 15, 2021 to possibly purchase glasses. Their glasses were absolutely filthy with dust, smudges, and fingerprints. This had to be from days and days of NOT CLEANING them. read more

My family has been using Visionworks in Ashland Kentucky for several years. The service has been declining each year. This year, my glasses actually touched one of my eyeballs. I have been there four times and I finally went back to my old glasses. They now have young people adjusting glasses that have no experience. My wife and daughter have had similar experiences. Overall, the employees are very nice and helpful. Big selection and good service. However, the eye doctor messed up all of our prescriptions (my 2 kids and mine). When we said that the glasses didn't feel right, we were all just told that we needed to get used to them. I ended up wearing my prescription glasses from 3 years ago until my insurance would cover glasses again. I honestly do NOT recommend going to the eye doctor there. As far as the service for the eye glasses is concerned, I guess I just had bad luck. I had a lady who was more concerned about what she wanted to order for lunch. The glasses I picked out already had a black dot on them (when they measure your eyes). I told her to please remove it since it wasn't my measurement - and she just brushed me off and said it doesn't mean anything, only if I had bifocals. So, definitely get your prescription somewhere else. And when you pick out glasses, insist that they measure your eyes correctly!! read more

I had my eye exam done here and it was quick and easy. I also ordered my prescription Ray Ban sunglasses through them and the associate that helped me out was very nice and helpful. Also their manager Trey Hathaway was awesome and very professional. If you need an eye exam and don't have anywhere to get one, I definitely recommend going and seeing them! read more
