In 2021, all of a sudden, I began experiencing strange things with my eyes-seeing dots/floaters…read morethat were going from side to side, up & down, etc. After several days of this with no end in sight, I was very concerned and called Dr. Blom's office. They got me in right away. Dr. Blom was extremely thorough in her exam, also taking her time with me even though they had to fit me in that day. At one point she left the room for a while, & upon her return she informed me there was a mass in my eye. She said with my previous history of breast cancer in 2014, she was very concerned I may have metastatic breast cancer. After additional doctors and tests, what Dr. Blom had found in my eye was confirmed as Stage 4 metastatic breast cancer, with cancer having metastasized to my eyes, brain, lungs, bones, spine, ribs, and leg. Thanks to Dr. Blom's exceptional knowledge and skill, I was started on extensive treatment immediately, and happy to say 4 1/2 years later, I am doing great! Dr. Blom is an angel who saved my life, and I can never thank her enough!!! Not only did she save my life, but a few years later she performed cataract surgery on my left eye. Again, I was amazed at her skill and knowledge, and the difference in my eyesight is like the difference between night and day. I highly recommend Dr. Blom!

Ugh. I then stumbled across Dr. Gaal, AND could schedule online for a couple days away. I then decided to give them a shot, book an appointment online, and see how things went. I couldn't have been more pleased. The employees must work great together, as they seem like a family! I arrived, and this is the first time I've been to the eye doctor is over 20 years. They all talked to me in an informative manner, without sounding being condescending. They walked me through everything step by step, and kept me informed. I really felt like they were there to help, not just do an exam, and move on to the next person. They were there for ME! If you're looking for an optometrist, don't hesitate to give Dr. Gaal and his team a try. Appointments are helpful, but if they aren't busy, they'll do walk-ins also!

I move very often, mostly to larger cities, and currently reside outside of Philadelphia. A few months ago I went to a new dentist for the first time near my home in Pennsylvania and was given the news that I had 16 cavities, needed a root canal performed and needed a tooth extracted, a bill which totaled over $10,000.00 after insurance payments!! I was shocked at this news, and most definitely did not believe it, since of course, I've only had two cavities in my entire life when seeing Dr. York, but yet, it had been a few years since I had seen a dentist, but still this seemed excessive and I wasn't sure what to believe and didn't know if this was just a gimmick for the dentist to receive more dollars in his pocket. I made an appointment to see Dr. York on a visit to see family in Ohio to get his opinion, and long story short, I did have cavities, but only five, and no root canal, no extractions. So only around $158.00 after insurance payment out of my pocket!! Dr. York is an amazing doctor. He has a well established business. He doesn't have to "fake" cavity fillings to make more money because he does well and is honest and that is why I go to him even though I live far away!! I'll arrange my appointments to correspond with family visits from here on out!
