I'd suggest to Greenstar Power to hire a dedicated Service Agent to handle phones and manage expectations for their customers. This, I believe would help the "Face" of the company meet their EXCELLENT Technical work. If I was rating this company solely on the work they've performed at my residence and previous interactions with Zach, it'd be a five (5) without a second thought. I felt to be fair to Greenstar and who I usually leave comments I'd removed the previous comment where my emotions seemed to rule the day to a this, a more logical and objective review of Greenstar and my experiences with them. I'm not sure what happened but last year when my inverter went out because of a lighting storm in the area I spoke and worked the issue with Zach. There were some issues with Solar Edge and Zack was able to work through those issues. It took a bit but it was on Solar Edge's end not Greenstar Power. However, this year when I had nine panels not producing power and I couldn't get a callback from the Service Department I was furious! Their customer service department in returning phone calls has was terrible! It took over six weeks calling multiple times a week, leaving messages with No response! I found an online option and left a fairly pointed comment and they reached out to me the next day. The following day, last Saturday, a crew came out and fixed all the issues. I will say that each time any of the Techs have been at my home they have been Fantastic!! Very professional and awesome work. As true as it is that Greenstar has incredible technicians and performs awesome work. It is equally true that Greenstar needs to fix the Customer Service phone answering/returning calls issues. It is the face of the company and completely distracts from the professional hard work your technicians conduct in the field.

In the last couple years we have had several extended power outages from hours to days and wanted a…read morewhole house backup solar solution. In 2022 Lighthouse sales was the most upfront of the companies we contacted. The location of our electrical panels on opposite sides of the house and the Austin Fire Dept rules (sadly they don't recognize that Li ion iron phosphate batteries (Enphase...) are safe indoors unlike Li ion NMC (Tesla...) which are prone to thermal runaway fires) made an installation that would meet our goals and Austin Fire rules difficult. A year later in 2023, Corey at lighthouse called us back and informed us that the new Enphase products allowed a reliable solution for us that fit with AFDs rules. This time we limited our bids to Enphase solutions. Once again Corey was the most professional of the sales people we delt with. Lighthouse's bid was competitive and we were given a substantial completion estimate of 6 to 8 weeks. I found our project manager Dale to be very responsive and the installation crew to be professional and on time. Our system was complete, producing power, and connected to PEC, exactly 8 weeks from the day our contract was signed. Kudos to Lighthouse and PEC for getting the whole job done in less time than I've heard just the utility permission to connect taking after the installation was completed. In the month since our system was commissioned we have had sunny and cloudy days, weather alerts, and even a brief grid outage. Our system has performed just as we were lead to expect. In an industry notorious for "used car sales" behavior. I have no hesitation recommending Lighthouse as professional, and reliable with fair pricing.

This is a warning. Although I was initially happy with the installation of my gutters, after the a…read morefew rains I realized the downspout elbows had been installed at different levels. A couple were several inches higher than the others, and one I have almost made into a french drain it is so low to the ground. This is an easy fix to raise the elbows, maybe 30 min. I have been waiting a month now. Supposedly only the person who installed it can come do the fix, and he has been out of town for a month and no idea when he will be back. So, make sure everything is perfect when installed because their touted fix anything needed lifetime warranty is very suspect.

We did our installation in 2022 and have seen our energy bills lower than ever before! (We have some shade on our roof so we didn't do the full roof, ~20 panels or so, but it worked out well.) They did the rebate work with the city so our out-of-pocket cost wasn't exorbitant at all. Our household also recently purchased a second electric vehicle so we contacted 512 Solar again, this time for a level 2 charger installation. Once again, 512 Solar was excellent at getting our quote together, suggesting two hardwired chargers that the city does rebates on, and actually getting the work done as well. We have to do the final step with submitting the rebate paperwork to the city, I believe, but that's small beans compared to all the work that JP and Huiyun did for us at the outset. Really happy we went with these folks and will continue to recommend their business!
