Initial set up, coordination was great! I live in an HOA and did not have to do anything on my end to assist the project in moving forward. Fast forward to 1.5yrs later and I have a much larger electricity bill than I had previously seen, by month 2, thinking maybe the 1st month was large due to a combination of use and weather. I called in and there are several panels not working. I was told a tech will call to schedule service, no call, but someone randomly showed up. I verified that they were with the solar company, etc. a few visits and 2 weeks later, still no improvement and communication between the techs, to myself and/or the customer service staff was not efficient. Customer service gal did communicate with me-mostly by my outreach, however, they communicated. I wish I would have read more reviews about this company and asked more questions regarding their processes if there were ever any issues, etc. Overall, the product has been ok (with the exception of this incident), it's the lack of communication between all parties involved. As well as no financial relief granted to the consumer for not having the panels working and thus having larger electricity costs. EDITED to reply to the owner. Thank you for replying to my review. However, there is a discrepancy in your time frame. We have not had panels for 3 years. The contract was signed September 2023; install was January 2024. That does not equal to having them installed and functioning for three years. Hopefully resolution comes sooner rather than later. read more

Very frustrated. My solar is not generating for at least 4 months now. Been going back and forth with Greenstar. Inverter was replaced but they did not update the new serial number in production. The same excuse that they will put you as priority. You get a callback after 2 weeks, then just to say that someone will contact me again in a week or two. I regret recommending this company to my neighbors and son in law. No issue with sales team, its the support team that sucks. Not including the time inverter was shipped and installed. It's Sept 2025, I have been out of production since May 2025 late April. This is outrageous! read more

Our initial solar system installer went out of business in 2024. We asked the manufacturer of our inverter to recommend someone in Austin, TX area that could take over the maintenance and repairs of the system. They gave us Greenstar Power. Both my spouse and I individually called and emailed them not once but twice! To date, we have not heard a word from them. I checked their website, and they claim to offer maintenance in the Austin, TX area. They need to either fix their website or honor the service offered. They also need to call potential customers back because it is the right and proper thing to do if you plan on staying in business. Bad reviews, especially word-of-mouth reviews from friends and acquaintances can kill a business. At this point we have decided to move on from this business because of what we have had to go through. read more

05/2022 We purchased and installed a 95,000 solar panel and generator system. We were promised 6 months of loan payments to "help us out". We have not received the payment. We have been promised two weekends in a row he would bring the payment and he stood us up both weekends. Our loan payments started in October. I contacted him today and now he says he has Covid again. I just want our payment. This has been almost a year. We were patient with all of their delays but we just want this to be over now. read more

He is knowledgeable in the solar industry, very professional, he's not pushy when we were talking to him about the solar system and the cost, easy going guy, and very helpful when I have questions about the solar systems we had purchased. We are very pleased of our decision in purchasing our solar through them. We are also benefiting from the big savings of our electricity since it's been extremely hot this summer! The sales rep, Jeromi, was informative and very knowledgeable when it came to explaining the benefits and was very communicative with the whole process. Owner threatened to put lien on house. Originally the sales people were very friendly. One was pushy, but friendly. I signed a contract with them about a month and a half ago to provide services on July 1, 2021, however was in need to cancel services as something came up. I called through three individuals to get to someone who could help me cancel services for the solar panels and finally spoke with Eric Bowman I believe his name was. Right off the bat from his tone I knew he tried hard to keep customers locked into their deal. He mentioned there was a $2,000 fee to cancel. I said that was really expensive and couldn't pay that full amount. I also checked my contract with them after the call and discovered a $2,000 cancellation fee was not stated. I offered to pay for the permits. His offer back was to pay $1,000 and leave a detailed 5-star review. I found this to be very sketchy. I offered to pay for the funds used for acquiring permits again (~$300) but he was set on the $1,000 cancellation fee and detailed 5-star review. Reiterating: This was my first time hearing about the $2,000 cancellation fee, again was not in the contract, but hadn't known this at the time of the call. Because of this "fee" I said I would no longer like to cancel services but would like to postpone the installation indefinitely. Eric from Greenstar Power got very heated and threatened to put a lien on my home if I didn't take their solar panels and hung up. I called the city to confirm he could not actually do this and get away with it. I also called a broker who sells for multiple solar companies to get his opinion and the broker has never heard of a ridiculous $2,000 fee to cancel. The broker stated you can normally cancel free of charge as long as the services have not been performed. The broker also mentioned he could cover 100% of my energy usage for a fraction of the cost where Greenstar Power would've covered ~70%. They seem to be a very small company trying to grow extremely rapidly. I asked to the city to cancel our application so they cannot legally put up solar panels on my house leaving me stuck with their business. read more

Nearly impossible to get the salesman/project manager to respond to requests for updates. Not proactive in providing information - wait for the homeowner to call/text/email them multiple times to get any information. Promised a 6 month rebate check for first loan payments, claimed it was mailed out already. When I did not receive it and inquired about the status, I got no response from the salesman/project manager or the owner of the company. If I could go back in time, I would just so I can choose a different solar panel company. read more
