Today I took my son into see if there was any adjustments they could make to his glasses that of course due to kid use were a mangled mess. So bad that he was having trouble keeping them on his face. He hadn't had them for a year yet and I was just hoping they could do something. They are always nice and very helpful here but I certainly didn't think they could surpass my expectations, yet they did! She took one look at my sons glasses and asked if they were purchased through them. They were. In less than 15 minutes we walked out with brand new frames, perfectly adjusted and no charge! I am beyond grateful and my expectations were truly blown today! We will continue to be faithful patients/customers for our entire family!

When I called them to ask if they could recheck the prescription they told me I would have to pay because it was just past 60 days. Between bad weather, subzero temperatures, the long driving distance and getting the glasses rechecked they wouldn't budge on this. I guess that even though western South Dakota is VERY rural, Independent Optical believes everyone lives in Rapid City. They are not flexible and have no compassion. This is their fault. I definitely do NOT recommend them.

I've had too many dentists that wanted to maximize procedures to maximize profit and it's nice to find docs who are there to treat you, not be treatment aggressive, and are gentle. Hands down, Dr. Yeoman IS THE ABSOLUTE MOST SKILLED AND SUPERB DENTIST TO WHOM I HAVE EVER BEEN. I have massive anxiety about any dental procedures starting from childhood ( a disastrous tooth extraction at a fancy dentist in Newport 10 years ago among the more recent of nightmares ) as I was born in Hawaii, and mid 70's dentistry was positively barbaric and painful. Dr. Yeoman was so warm and funny that he put me at ease immediately as did his assistant Alex. During the procedure he was fast, precise, thorough and again, very gentle. So gentle he didn't even need to give me novocaine to fix two chips in my front tooth from gnawing on a ribeye bone. The results are BEAUTIFUL and maybe took 40 minutes. He's a magician. Staff members Alex, Rachel and Brandy were all absolutely terrific and got me in right away when I called to explain the issue. I got amazing quality and care and they even told me about personal things they'll be looking for that might be problematic in the future but reassured me that they'll keep an out and do the best they can. Be aware! Went to place a crown on an existing implant . I have had this done before on another…read moreimplant! They had my insurance info before hand. Before seeing Dr Jensen I was taken to do an xray. I now understand it is an intraoral xray! Asked if it was covered the technician said yes. Finally see Dr Jensen , he states he can't put the crown on and wants me to see another dentist for imaging who is not on my insurance ! Left disappointed and confused because not my first crown for an implant! Go to another Dentist Dr Rice and he can put crown on with no problem. They sent a bill for over $350 for an xray not covered. They could not put crown on and wanted me to go to another dentist before they could do anything! This is just to warn anyone thinking of going to them.

However, his accounting has issues when 5 months after my bill ($1300 +) was paid in full per the signed "estimate" as it is now referred, I received a bill with no explanation other than $39 over 60 days and $32 over 90 days. It was the first I had ever heard of these charges. A call to the office revealed they were charges for 2 X-rays. What dentist does not realize that X-rays are a part of a procedure and should have been included in the "estimate." My experience with delayed billings like this is that the business is having financial problems.
