The salesperson told me the tint would work for my outside job, however, when I wore my new glasses outside all day, the tint did not get dark like sunglasses. I came back to discuss my disappointment and options for making them darker as initially described. The sales lady tried to sell me new glasses for $300 more dollars on top of the $400 already paid. Some years ago I had done business with Fairway and remembered the excellent customer service. In fact the only reason I really switched was they didn't have the frames I wanted. I digress. So after getting a completely outrageous quote I called Fairway and asked for Tina. I was pleasantly surprised when I found out she was still there. I explained my dilemma and all I can say is that Fairway came to the rescue once again. The prices were completely reasonable and Fairway stands 100% behind their product and customer service. This eye doctor in the Waldo neighborhood hit every box: - Communicative - Professional - Friendly - On time - Availability - Efficiency They also offered something during my routine eye exam that I loved; the option to pay $35 extra to skip the dilation and instead use some sort of Star Wars technology to take a picture of the back of your eye. Well worth it for not having to have blurry, weird vision for the rest of the day. I see Dr. Yates, and my oldest comes here now too and looks forward to it. The office is very nice, and there is parking but it can be tight in the little adjacent lot. Nothing but good vibes here, good location, and I never dread my annual trip in. They say I needed to call them to say it was good to go. (You'll notice that's not what they said in office.) I tell them they are can you please give me the lenses and the glasses I ordered. They say can do! That'll be $800 after insurance! I push back and say no I pay for great insurance but it's wonky and I explain how to run it. They say they'll call back in a couple hours once they try it. That was over a week ago! Since then I have tried to call them multiple times on multiple days but their front desk is not answering! I was a patient for over 12 years, but I am probably not going to be anymore. Let me disclose somethings that they do NOT disclose until you are already done: 1. If you bring in an outside pair of glasses, because you don't like what they have in stock - they will charge you at least $20 - even if they are filling the script and you are their patient. You brought in a pair of glasses that was not purchased through their store. 2. If you get cataract surgery, and you later need a pair of readers, they sold my father an (81 year old man) readers that cost over $700 which could have been purchased OTC for less than $50. 3. Also, if you wear contacts - they will charge you $85 - not covered by most insurance. Doesn't matter that your prescription hasn't changed, they just want the additional $85 - as "there are materials involved," so I was told. I don't recall anything different from any other eye exam. It ended with, "we have to renew your prescription." So there it is - $85 to renew prescriptions.
