I've been going back and forth for quite some time as to whether or not I would even leave this…read morereview. We had the job done, I believe, in June. It's now nearly September. We hired this company to install a kitchen backsplash. I had pre-purchased my tile, which I'd notified them of, the tile was glass, another fact I'd already told them. We set the price, and the date and as far as I was concerned everything was good. The guy who came to install the tile was nice, respectful, but a little inexperienced, something I'd gleamed from our conversation. He installed the tile, the thin set was drying faster than he was getting the tiles on the walls so some of them were a little loose. His cuts were a little off as well, but I didn't complain. It was a small area, and he'd said he'd fix any loose tile when he came back to grout the next day. So that was the plan. The next day comes and he doesn't show. I eventually text the person from the company I'd been in contact with and was told she would find out what was going on. Later in the evening I received a call from the owner. Or at least someone who claimed to be the owner. He told me that he thought I had planned to grout my own tile and that he had only charged me for the install... I think he told me a 2 hour job. No where did I ever state in our Yelp exchange or texts that I plan to grout my own tile. Especially when I'd discussed grout colors with the guy who initiallly installed the tile. After some needling, he raised the price on me and agreed to come back and finish the job. He arrived the next day, talked crap about the tiles I bought, talked crap about the quality of the tiles I bought, talked crap about the subpar craftsmanship because "people don't want to work anymore". I was pretty much over him at this point and left him with my husband. A job, which should have taken at most a few hours over the course of 2 days, spanned 8 days, from start to finish. They did not come every day, and a couple of those days they were in and out, but yes. 8 days. I had 2 rooms tiled (floor) start to finish in 2 days, this small backsplash shouldn't have taken this long. The grout we'd discussed was supposed to be a light gray, the grout I got was white. The tiles are uneven, some spaces barely have grout. From a distance they look fine but while I'm standing there cooking it drives me crazy. I will probably have it redone. I initially hired this company for this small job because we had a few other larger jobs we wanted to hire them for. This was a trial... they failed. I'd never hire them again. Especially if I have to interact with the owner.

After reading reviews on Yelp we decided to go to HB Marble & Granite. As other Yelpers noted, their showroom is not fancy which is fine by me because I don't really want to pay for a fancy schmancy showroom. Huseyin and his son (presumably) were very friendly and let me crawl around their remnants and slabs. When I visited HB Marble & Granite Huseyin was running the wet saw and stopped to help me. I liked that not only does he run his own business but he also has the knowledge to cut stone and willingness to get a little wet and dirty. Although I was hoping to possibly use a remnant for my project in the end I went with a new slab of quartz. The quartz got stuck in the port in New Jersey so my project ended up a little bit delayed but Huseyin was very apologetic and communicative on the issue. I know he was frustrated by the situation too but he did everything he could to get that slab to his shop. And when the slab did arrive, it immediately went on the table for cutting and my countertops were installed hours later! I really admire that Huseyin expedited my job as soon as he had the materials. I was very pleased with the installers. They were friendly and respective of my home. The workmanship was top notch. I've had granite and quartz installed on numerous occasions and I was really impressed with their work and how clean they kept the work area. Overall, my experience with this local, small business was great!

We spent thousands of dollars on brand new carpet to place in our basement and instead of waiting for a licensed individual to install our carpet, he, inexperienced, placed the carpet in our basement. Butchered it! Seams showing, nail pops still under some stairs and not even stretched to the base boards of the walls. We now have to re pay to buy all new carpet and have it installed. We reached out to him 4 times to work with us since he was responsible for ruining it and ignored us. Along with this he was a terrible painter as that, too, needs to be re painted as there are streaks everywhere and areas where he never painted a second coat. Please look elsewhere if you are looking to have a finished product that goes further than just placing studs and drywall in your home. This was a true lesson learned!!
