I was very pleasantly surprised by my visit here. I am in town for business and really, really needed a haircut. I arrived at the salon and requested a walk-in appointment. I had to wait about 30-45 minutes, but I had nothing better to do. I browsed the mall and then returned for my appointment. The shampoo tech (sorry for not getting her name) was nice and welcoming. I was then escorted to Annabelle. She was great! She had my hair cut, dried and styled in no time. The cut was good! I'd recommend opting for a higher-tiered stylist. Worth it! read more

I went in for highlights a few weeks ago and walked out with very over processed, melted hair. My hair was healthy and had just been trimmed. The colorist was rushed and sent me off to have my hair finished by an employee in training. When I showed her the ends she just shrugged. I spent $120, had damaged hair that didn't even look good. I went to TGF in Kingwood and had to get several inches cut off of my hair plus I had to then go to Sally's to buy color to get my hair to look the way I had originally wanted it. There are a few cutters that are good at VC, but the price isn't worth the gamble. I have had color 3 times in the past 10 years at VC and every time have regretted going to them. *****update: cuts great by Laura- if she leaves I will follow her. I have never been able to find someone who was able to tame and shape my hair as well as Rachel does at Visible Changes. I hardly venture out of Atascocita unless absolutely necessary, but Rachel's amazing work each and every time is certainly worth a trip to the mall for no reason other than her expertise. I never leave Rachel's chair feeling cut short of what I am paying for. Everyone else is always very friendly and always a pleasure to work with. My only two (small) complaints are that sometimes the sofas get a little crowded for those waiting for a wash, and they don't accept American Express. I went last week to have my hair colored at VC, Deerbrook. Well, my hair ended up getting burned. I returned later in the week and the colorist told me my hair wasnt burned. I have breakage everywhere. She must think Im a fool. She eventually gave me an oil treatment to help my hair...and charged me for it!! Really??? You burn my hair and then charge me to get some repairs???? Im super upset she didn't own up to damaging my hair. I know we run the risk of breakage due to coloring our hair...but OWN your mistakes when you Overprocess the hair. Very disappointed in Visible Changes for not training your colorist better!!! read more

Went in for a cut and color. My color came out great with Kelsey and I had an appointment for my cut. They told me that my stylist was behind and I'd have to wait an hour but they could put me with someone else who was at the same level so i agreed. Huge mistake! She didn't cut my hair like the picture at all. My hair is not what I wanted. Very disappointed will not be using her again and wouldn't recommend Bernice to anyone. Update1/2. Visible changes in was great about getting me in and fixing my hair which turned out good however I made an appointment for my 9 year old daughter. When I made the appointment they only had a master cutter so I asked how much and they said $36. Ok that's fine she gets her hair cut very seldom so that's fine. Well she finishes up hair looks super cute and I go to pay and they ask for $48. I ask how is a cut you told me was going to be $36 now $48? The girl says oh she charged you for hot tools. I said no one asked me if this was something I wanted to pay extra for and I'm sure you didn't get permission from my 9 year old. They took the charge off but seriously how unprofessional to add services to my 9 year olds hair cut without first asking permission from her mother who is sitting right around the corner on the couch. read more

I heard a lot of good things about VC. Then I visited one day after making an appointment. I asked for the Master cutter or something. My hair is extremely long and thick and the stylist complained the whole time about having to wash, comb, cut and dry my hair. She had another person help her dry it and they both complained. I mentioned the length when I called but she was in such a hurry to get to her next client she didn't dry my hair completely. Worst of all, I got to the register and they charged me $80. 15 minutes after I walked out my hair was frizzy from them not drying it completely. I will NEVER go back there!! They overcharge for the work they do and they are not customer service oriented. read more

I have called to make an appointment for a week straight and everyone is all booked up. It seems to me that the front desk offers no help. For example, you would think after me calling everyday for a week they would tell me the best day to come but no. I have been getting my haircut here for 14 years straight and have been using minh to cut my hair. He has become so busy, i decided to use other stylists to cut my hair. The last 2 times i made an appointment, i was there right on time and after 30 minutes waiting on the couch, i just left. You would think making an appointment it makes it easier, but no it only makes you more frustrated. I am going to use some other place now, because this place doesn't truly understand customer service and ways of dealing with simple issues. ......hire more people! I run a business and know this place has issues. I just want a haircut, and wont beg visible changes. I will bring my business elsewhere and tell everyone I know about them. called to make an appointment for haircut and color and told them don't know what I want. Informed me can not make an appointment for that had to walk in and have a consult with a stylist and will be able to be done today 3/13/17 if get there before 7 pm . I arrived at 4:48 was informed to have a seat and someone will be with me in 10 minutes. I sat there till 5:30 no updates on time . There are employees ,3-8 at a time ,that got done with others people hair standing around talking . No one bothered to ask why I been sitting there so long or give me update on what time I would be helped. Over 40 minutes just sitting and watching employees Stand and sweep floors then talk to each other instead of helping guest is a little to much time especially when told only 10 minutes in the first place. I came here to get my hair styled for family photos. I do NOT recommend Patty. She was extremely unfriendly. She rushed through washing my hair and was extremely rough. If she got to a knot, she just kept pulling through it roughly instead of gently. Barely talked either. She did about 10 curls in my hair and called it done. I do recommend Justin, who I usually see. My mom always comes to this location and recommend me to go see Nicole. I called to make an appointment for my hair and apparently I had to go for a consultation so I show up a few days later . As soon as I walk in I'm not greeted by any of the 5 ladies who are by the desk, I proceed to say hello and explain why I'm there and I get looked at funny and one of the girls start to laugh. I immediately start to feel bad vibes. I was told the wait was going to be 10 minutes but end up waiting over 45 minutes for my consultation and then the lady who did my consultation seemed like she did not want to be there. The energy was off and the whole experience was off. The people were rude and I was so excited about making a change at visible changes but the staff was not welcoming and they did not have the right attitudes. I've went to VC multiple times to get my hair done, & was never happy with their customer service specifically. The last time I went, I only scheduled a color because I had my hair cut 2 weeks prior at a different salon. After the girl gets done coloring my hair, she tells me she can't blow dry my hair, but I could sit underneath a dryer if I wanted to...... mind you I had already been there for 3 hours. I don't understand why she couldn't blow dry my hair considering she wasn't doing anything except talking to another employee? If there was an up charge all she needed to do was tell me & I would've paid it. I didn't even want it styled, I just didn't want it to bet soaking wet. ... so yeah I paid over $100 for a root smudge & had to leave the salon with SOAKING WET HAIR. This was honestly so unacceptable, and I was very embarrassed having to walk around for the rest of the day like that. I haven't went back to VC since this incident & never will again! I've since found a new hairstylist that actually cares about her customers!! read more

I went to Visible Changes in Deerbrook for highlights. I spent three hours there getting highlights, paid, tipped the stylist and left. The next day I received a call saying Visible Changes had undercharged me $100.00, and they wanted to charge my credit card. Now, I had paid over 155.00 for the high lights. So, I was shocked when someone from the salon called my home and requested the $100.00. . This is clearly a mistake made by an employee and not by me. It appears this is your policy to make a mistake and then have your employees call me at work and demand money. Needles to say, I will not be back. read more

Like many others that have posted before me, I have been going to this Visible Changes since I was a small child, always getting my hair cut, always coming out with new-found confidence and a great new style. BUT NOT ANYMORE. I went into Visible Changes in June to go from a dark brown to blonde. The girl bleaching my hair was very confident and seemed like she knew what she was doing. After applying the bleach fully all over my hair, she wrapped my hair in a bun, and clipped it up. She then placed a plastic shower cap over my head, and set me in the steamer. Here is where it goes wrong. She left me UNATTENDED in the steamer for twenty minutes. By that time, my scalp felt like it was on fire, I literally had tears in my eyes. Now, I had never had my hair bleached, so I didn't know if that was normal or not, but since nobody was around for me to ask, I had to pull my head out from under the steamer and hold my head to the side, or else my burning hot hair would burn my scalp. Well, by the time my stylist decided to come check on me I was crying it was burning so bad. She asked if it was itchy, to which I replied "My scalp feels like it is on FIRE!". She then proceeded to rinse out my hair, with cold water, causing a giant cloud of steam to surround us. She was busy, so she had another person wash and condition my hair, then I was placed under a dryer. The stylist came to get me after about 5 minutes, and when she looked at my hair, I knew something was wrong. There was a giant band of my hair that was MUSH. COMPLETE MUSH. She kept asking if I had ever bleached my hair before, which I have not, and tried to blame the problem on me, when it was not my fault. After having other stylists examine my hair, they deemed that they had never seen mushy hair like that before, and didn't know what caused it. The band went all the way around my head, from about two inches above the base of my neck, to below shoulder length. Now, I HAD beautiful LONG hair, almost to my bellybutton, and now I have a short bob, which looks terrible. All because the stylist at Visible Changes BURNED MY HAIR OFF FROM NEGLIGENCE. I was in rage, but I kept my composure. They had to dye my hair strawberry blonde (not the color I wanted) and they had to cut it short to get rid of all the dead, fried hair that they destroyed. And to top it all off, I was then required to pay for the products they told me to buy. Although the TERRIBLE DYE JOB AND HORRIBLE HAIR CUT were free, I still had to dish out cash for tips, and for the products. ALL IN ALL, I WILL NEVER GO TO THIS SALON AGAIN. THEY DESTROYED MY HAIR, AND NOW REFUSE TO COVER COSTS FOR ME TO GET EXTENSIONS. DO. NOT. GO. TO. THIS. SALON. read more

I went here to get my hair dyed and showed the lady a picture of an ombré and when she was done with my hair I had extreme blonde highlights(I have brown curly hair). It looks as if I have white stripes in my hair..looks nothing like the pictures that I had showed.. And spent almost $300 to get it done.I was so disappointed. I was told when my hair is dry that it would look more like the picture. So I tried to have a positive mind and wait for it to dry but once it did.. it still looked like stripes. So, I went that day to get my haircut and after I left, it looked "ok." But the maintenence is atrocious... I told the stylist not to cut my hair too short. But alas, she did anyway. Furthermore...the process of blow drying/styling at this place is still below par for ethnic hair. You aren't supposed to just blow air willy nilly till the hair is dry. For all those of you who don't know what I'm talking about--our hair goes poof! Instead, you're supposed to either dry it with rollers under a hair dryer (think dominican style) or if you're using a blow dryer, use a leave in conditioner and blow dry it in sections while using a brush. Neither one of these things were done at Visible Changes. I think they rely too much on the flat iron to make hair straight. That said, the style doesn't last which means they don't know how to "train" the hair. I should note that I think they do good work with straight, european-type hair. But if you have naps, kinks, or even a relaxer, I'd recommend you go someplace else. read more

The only reason I gave 2 stars is because I have never been unhappy with any other visible changes experience. All I needed was 2 kids hair cuts. One of my 2 sons was at 6:00. It's 6:25 and we're still waiting. They got my other son confused with a different client. Staff is very unprofessional. Sorry to say. I will not be returning to this location read more
