Prior to leaving my previous hometown (Maryland) I had lightened my hair and dyed it fire engine…read morered. Much like any red color, by 8 weeks it had faded significantly. This was largely my fault for not using red shampoo like should've. Because of this I searched for a new salon to call home. Salon Bombshell popped up on my yelp search. I looked through their photos and website. I liked what I saw. What I liked even more was that they had the option to book online. I hate making phone calls so this was magnificent. I booked a consultation with Anna and excitingly waited for the day. I came prepared with my inspiration photo. Initially I wanted to color correct my red but decided I just wanted to play off of it more. After looking at my hair and the photo, Anna told me it was definitely achievable. The only color she couldn't promise was the yellow. I was good with that as long as the result was as close as it could be. We agreed on an appointment and I eagerly counted down the days. The day of Anna was running a bit behind but it wasn't an issue. I would wait all day if I had to. That's how excited I was. We were only delayed for a bit and then it was my turn. We first attempted to bleach my tips in hopes of lightening the faded red I had. Well, Pravana apparently bonds very well. The bleach barely had any effect. Well, plan b. She would add the colors as planned and we'd just skip the yellow. I was 100% ok with that since, you know, I knew the yellow wouldn't happen and my photo was really just an inspiration. Anna came up with a brilliant idea, though. She would dye a few tape in extensions yellow and add them in at a later date. Excellent! I booked another appointment to get that done. While waiting I messaged her asking if we could also do orange since that was part of the color palette I was looking to achieve. She agreed to it and I was thrilled. The day had arrived and I could barely contain my excitement. When the time came to take a look I was stunned. It. Was. Beautiful. My entire goal for my hair was to make it look like fire. She definitely hit the mark on that. The added extensions really worked well. I was so excited to show it off. Anna really worked some magic. If you're looking for a great stylist, I highly recommend Anna. She knows her stuff and was a pleasure to work with.

They were able to get me in same day really quickly. Chloe fixed my extension on the spot, even though she was double-booked. She was so kind and professional. The whole experience was quick, easy, and stress-free. Everyone I interacted with was verywelcoming and professiona, and they really went above and beyond to help someone who wasn't even a regular client. While the staff may have experience in certain aspects of hair care, they seem to lack the expertise required for successful hair coloring. After spending 5.5 hours at the salon, the results were far from what I had expected, as evidenced by the attached photographs. I rate my experience between 0 and 1, with the outcome resembling the work of an amateur; the color appeared orange and lacked the professionalism I anticipated. When asked how I felt about the result, I responded with "okay" just to conclude my visit out of frustration, especially given the time spent and the failure to follow my requests. Moreover, the service cost me $424, which included my daughter's haircut, not including a tip. While I understand that quality services may come at a premium, I expected a result that reflected the higher price tag, particularly since I was paying Paul Mitchell salon prices. Although Michelle, the owner, made an effort to reach out to me, I feel that communication at this point is futile since my hair is left damaged and any further attempt to fix the color would likely cause even more harm. I would not recommend this salon for hair coloring or gray coverage, as my gray hairs remain visible despite my clear request for them to be covered. Thank you for your attention to this matter. In order to get it straightened out, she had to go to another hair salon and the woman she went to asked if she went to a beauty school to get her haircut! Not a huge fan of the baby light technique so I asked for chunky-er pieces. I've never had issues in the past as I've had money pieces, etc. I was under NO impression that it was a "color correction" or that it needed a multi step process. I know little about color so I followed who I thought was the "expert" For almost $400, I received a five hour gruesome appointment, two hours which I was stuffed at the wash bowl and when I went to the bathroom I saw my hair was actually orange, where my stylist told me "it's not done yet". I'll post photos, but the after was not at all what I was wanting. The salon light was super deceiving and I was trying to be nice and respectful so I even shared a filtered photo to make my stylist feel better. After I washed it I was absolutely horrified. I genuinely don't think my hair had ever looked so bad. It had a weird yellow tint with a little green and there was patches EVERYWHERE. It looked rushed and honestly like I tried to do it at home. After trying to be nice, I went to the owner to fix it. After an in depth conversation, we agreed on a darker color to blend the yellow on top. After I drove (almost an hour there and back - spent a whole tank of premium gas on this experience) and getting dirty looks from the other stylist on the way to my second appointment, it looked the same if not worse and more washed out after. And I paid almost $400. After missing one of my good friends birthday on a Saturday after crying all day about how bad my hair was, I reached out to the owner politely asking to fix it. She refused unless I paid for MORE bleach and then ghosted me. No refund, no nothing. Now I have to pay even MORE for a color correction after my hair has been completely ruined. I really tried to be as nice and respectful because I completely understand that things happen, but I was beyond screwed over on multiple levels. I would highly recommend against this salon and will be sharing my experience within my circle.
