The chair was last reupholstered over 40 years ago so it was way over due for a face lift. BreAnna Bologna was very pleasant to work with and very helpful, I now know how to tell which fabrics are more durable than others. :) I described my vision for the chair and after looking at enough fabric samples to reupholster the Empire State Building and getting suggestions from BreAnna, I made my choices. I am blown away by how the chair came out, I love it! The customer service was great, BreAnna was very responsive to my questions and honest with her opinions and the finished product was better than I hoped for. Thank you!!!

We started out as a one-woman reupholstery company, founded by Catherine McCauliffe in 1981. Driven by her love of sewing and desire to create beautiful things, Catherine began C&M Upholstery, so she would have an outlet for her creative energy. She liked nothing more than transforming old, worn-out furniture into pieces that looked like new. Her attention to detail and commitment to superior workmanship was evident in every project she completed. What began as a hobby became a family-owned and operated business. Catherine passed down her creativity and talent for finding the beauty in everything to her children. Her son, Kevin, joined the company in 1985. And her daughter, Lynn, followed in 1987. Together, they grew the business from a one-woman shop to a complete home furnishing company. Today, we have expanded our offerings to include custom blinds, shades, sheer shadings and shutters from Hunter Douglas. In our showroom we feature more than 9,000 fabrics for window treatments, bedding and upholstery.

We thought the price was reasonable and paid up front. The install was done and it did not cover the entire width of the window opening. The salesperson came back and agreed. A replacement was ordered. The issue was with scheduling installation. Once scheduled they reconfirm an excessive number of times. It's intrusive. The installer was supposed to be here yesterday afternoon at 3. Never showed. Got a phone call with an apology/excuse and scheduled for noon today. The installer left a voicemail at 10:50 saying he was early and if he did not hear back from me he would be here in 15 minutes. We were NOT available early. What if I had not seen the voicemail? They need to show up when promised and not "tell" people they are coming early on voicemail. Totally inconsistent either way how organized they appear to be with scheduling and confirming. Very inconsiderate.

I gave him $3000 and said because of Covid it would be at least six months before he'd get the materials and could start. Then I never saw him again. After several texts and phone calls he told me he was sorry but was filing bankruptcy. I asked if I could get at least all my measurements. He wouldn't even do that for me. He is a thief.

When everything came in, he installed two doors plus replaced an overhead door with a solid, double door to the cellar. He was on time, finished ahead of schedule and his products are excellent. My neighbor liked him so much he had his front door replaced and it was stunning too. I highly recommend J & D Windows and Doors.

My father had received a quote for replacing a bay window from another company in town that he had hired before. That other company looked to take advantage of that and quoted my father a price of $10,000 to replace it. I got involved and looked for other options and was truly fortunate to find J&D Windows and Doors. First off, the price was a FRACTION of what the first company quoted, but more than that David really took in a genuine interest in discussing all the options with my father so that my father was comfortable knowing he was getting exactly what he wanted. The other company took a more cookie cutter approach and was more interested in seeing dollar signs than customer satisfaction.. Due to Covid, supply was interrupted so the new window couldn't be installed when initially scheduled. That had nothing to do with J&D but David still gave my father a discount due to the inconvenience. Completely unnecessary but most appreciated and just a classy move on his part. All told, the work to take out the old bay and put in the new took little more than a morning with a little finishing to be done the next day. The result was amazing and my father was completely overjoyed with the result and I echo how well it turned out. I and my father, recommend J&D thoroughly, absolutely and whole heartedly.

Not only was the staff warm and friendly, they went beyond the basic "are you finding everything" question and made me feel like they truly wanted to help find what was right for me. They asked questions about the craft projects I was working on and clarified my desired end results to be sure I had the correct products for my needs. BONUS points awarded: my Midwestern heart was happy to find bags of Dot's pretzels for sale at the register, too :) The great experiences I've had for my small shopping trips have secured me as a long-time customer. I've recommended Village Paint to a few friends in the midst of their own Fixer Up'ers and will for sure use them for our own decorating needs in the future, too.

I haven't been there in awhile because I haven't needed paint but when I do, that's where I'm going. I went in several years ago because I was clueless as far as how I wanted my house to look when I was remodeling it. All I knew I wanted it to look cohesive as far as colors went. Gary sat down with my wife and I for probably 45mins to an hour showing us paint color wheels and discussing we probably wanted to work off whatever floor color and countertop color we were going with. He gave us numerous choices. He also referred us to a countertop place and a cabinet place. I left with out purchasing anything because I had to ponder the options. The point is he sat down with us for a long time not even knowing if we would make a purchase or not. No pressure or anything. Just passing on his knowledge. I went back and bought paint for every room in the house from him. He made recommendations on eggshell, satin, flat based on what room it would be in or what the paint was going on (mouldings etc). I went back once to get paint for a front door. They actually sent me to Lowe's instead because they felt that Lowe's had a better tint for the color door I was looking for. I don't know of many businesses that would do that. In fact I don't know of any place that does that. I painted my kitchen cabinets and again Gary and Scott were a wealth of information on the type of paint to use, how to prep the cabinets and what rollers and brushes to use. I'm a lifelong customer now. They may be a little more money but this is truly a case where you get what you pay for and more. Whenever I go in there I'm treated like an old friend and I truly appreciate that. The paint is high quality the employees are even better. If you have some painting to do, do yourself a favor and stop in Village Paint. I think you will be glad you did.
