Great customer service and a variety of all types of hobby-grade models to choose from. I see reviews bashing the place and the only thing I can say is that those people don't understand the complexities of each genre of the hobby. It's impossible for any one person to grasp everything. Every time I've been in, the staff has been helpful and honest, and shared knowledge of they had it, or reached out to another employee who is knowledgeable in the area am interested in (RC airplanes). There are a couple of guys who work here who actually know what their talking about, the rest are complete idiots. Not great customer service, or compassion for their customers. Example, I purchased a DX6E and never opened it, came back two weeks later to purchase a DX7 and they wouldn't take back the 6E unopened. Lame. I spend around $500 per month on my hobby, and Visalia Hobbies get as little if that as possible. I've put most of that money online I'm sad to say. When this store was owned by the Original owners they got all of my business, because they were human and treated me with kindness. The new owner won't even let a customer use the dang bathroom in the store. That's why I've taken the time to give others an idea of this business, and choose for themselves if they want to support a really poorly run company like Visalia Hobbies. read more

If you are in California, you have to visit this spot! I have been to a number of R/C spots, and this place is 1 of the very best. Talk to Carlos or Steven; both know this hobby and make you feel welcome. Nothing else needs to be said if you are looking for R/C anything. read more

Not a great shop for modelers. Limited variety and high prices. Much better shop for r/c and racing. Some train stuff but looks pretty left over. Nice staff and great ambience in the shop. Helpful but not sure what their focus is supposed to be in the world of hobbies. read more

Not buying from them again ! Went in asked one of the workers for a battery charger I needed. It ended up not being the right one so I go back and ask for a return to purchase a different one they refused. About a couple months back I also bought a charger for a drone I had. The drone was broken and the charger wasn't even used they gladly returned it when I put the money towards a Rc car. read more

Such a cool shop! I needed to replace some lipo batteries and Steve was very helpful. As I am fairly new to using lipo batteries he took some time to teach me a few things about properly charging them. read more

i ordered a pair of tires from chris in oct 2021 that i never got , its feb 2022 call so many time and got the same reply that horizion hobby was slow shipping it out .4 days ago i ordered the same tires and i already got them . these guys suck . David brown read more

Drove all the way from Lemoore, just to have the store closed! Has two different set of store hours on the window, and different hours on the phone! We even had an employee walk into the store and say absolutely nothing about what time they opened. I understand they're closed but he could've at least mentioned they changed the hours so we didn't waste any more of our time. Wouldn't even answer the phone after he went inside. I took them my vxl 8s out of my xmaxx back in 2020 and asked if they can warranty it and they did. They "sent" it to traxxas and they would fix or replace it for $125. I still have yet to receive the part or money. John is the man who took care of me and when I called to get an update a week ago he said he was going to call traxxas and give me a call right back. I still haven't heard from him. This place used to be a very great shop. Can't say the same anymore. read more

There are several guys working at this shop. Some of them aren't people persons but they all seem to be knowledgeable. I don't go there to socialize so as long as I can get what I came for this store does ok as they have more selection than any place around. I hadn't been there in years but I bought two batteries and they changed the connectors and got me on my way quickly. I recommend this place and will return as needed. In my opinion you should support your local stores. Sure you can pay less online but if you need service need or something now where you going to get it if these guys aren't there? read more

They scammed me for 176.00. They bought a item, said it was defective and I refunded them the full amount. They refuse to return the item to me, I'm hearing from others they do this all the time, multiple online reviews saying the same thing. Scammers, don't do business here. read more

I wish I could give zero stars this place had rude employees , the older man knew nothing and was unable to help and that's after us waiting for about 20 minutes . Customers were waiting a long time for help and just to be disrespected and talked down to , after Christmas kids get RC cars and need help but these guys are worthless . Excellent customer service. Last XMAS the wife bought me a smaller remote control car, not what I wanted. She also bought 2 drones due to the great customer service. In Jan 2017 I brought the whole unopened set up back to them and got the larger set up for about $1K, they were great about the return. I had no previous knowledge of using a remote control car so they took the time to explain. Yesterday I returned to the shop because the battery's wouldn't work, they went above & beyond helping me. Online you may find something cheaper but you wont get that one on one customer service, the experience this crew has actually using a product, and they are honest about costs etc., well worth the visit. When you more mature in life you appreciate that customer service rather than searching for something cheap just to save a buck. read more

Terrible service came an hour out of my way to get here. The guy on the phone told me he had the brass parts I was looking for for brass my trx-4. Got there and they had nothing for my trx-4. Definitely should check their inventory before telling someone they have the parts. Definitely wouldn't recommend to anyone read more

So I went bought two brand new cars from this place e spent 800 bucks one of the cars did not work out of the box so waited two weeks for a part to come from traxxas more then patient on my end went back to hobby store they wanted to charge me 15 bucks to fix the brand new car I purchased from them unbelievable never had been so insulted in my life they didn't even care I was upset nothing no big deal to them at all so if was looking to buy a car I'd say go to Exeter Hobbie worth the drive they don't treat there customers like poop read more

I ordered 3 parts from their website. Got an order confirmation but nothing else. I called to make sure there were no issues and the guy tells me that one of the parts is out of stock but they would ship the rest. Another week goes by with no communication. I call again and find out that there are actually 2 items from my order out of stock. They say they will ship the one they do have and refund the rest. I am now over a month since I ordered and I have gotten the one part that was in stock but still no refund. I will be exploring my legal options as this amounts to theft. read more

This store is horrific I had bought a Drone from the about 3 years ago and waited for 2 and Half years to get the part and was told it would be ready soon, but when I called back a few months later they don't know who I am or what product I brought into service. This place has horrible customer service I was talking to one of the workers and I guess spending $120 on a drone is not that much and that it is not that big of a deal that they can't find my drone. read more

It's been over a year since I've been in there the overwhelming smell of cigarettes drive me out long ago.

I walked in there today and even though I was the only customer in the store I was ignored. It was so bad that as I walked in I said "How you doing today?" and didn't even get a response. Eventually I asked a young girl for help and although she was nice, she was clueless of what I needed. It's unfortunate because I really want to support local business but I have been to this store a half dozen times over the years and never felt welcome or that my business mattered. read more

Terrible service. Insisted they never carried the item I brought in for service. Only after returning with the original box that had their tag did they remember the item. Mind you the only reason the item was purchased from them was because they assured my wife they would be able to service it. They guy John I believe kept the item and said he would look into it. Over three weeks passed before we finally called them. They provided no solution other than parts were no longer available. No apology or concern to customer satisfaction was given. Needles to say I'll take my business elsewhere as the benefit of buying hobby grade items so they may be repaired is not real(AT least at Visalia hobbies) Random distributors online give you the same lack of service without having to go into their store and at much better prices. Hopefully they take better care of their future patrons as I will not be one. read more

I'm not one that usually writes reviews but this time I HAD to. After waiting for 10 minutes for an associate to help me in one section of the store with no acknowledgements, my kids and I went to the register. We waited in line while one customer was finishing up paying. He left and we were standing right in front of the associate. He didn't say anything to us and wanted to help someone else that he knew. Needless to say, I let them know their customer service sucks and that was my first and last time ever shopping at that establishment. Nice try to the old man to say something to me after he heard what I said. Folks, take your business to Exeter Hobbies where the store is nice, clean, well organized and the associates there care about you and are readily available to assist unlike this place. Lesson learned for me to NEVER return to Visalia Hobbies. read more
