I love their in store and curb side pickup. I order online and swing by when it is ready. They fill orders fast.

Wish I could give this place zero stars. I haven't been to Michael's in a while since they acquired Joan's but the last time I was there, they were cutting fabric at the framing area. I happened to pick up my online pick up order and decide to check out the fabric section. I wanted to see if there has been any updates since taking over Joan's. I needed my fabric cut and I flagged down an employee. She appeared annoyed that I flagged her down to cut fabric. I went to the framing area since that's where I went last time. She directed me to the "cutting bar" which was a janky looking random white table in the middle of the aisle blocked by tons of boxes. I then made a comment "oh. Sorry. I came to framing last time". With a nasty attitude, She then talked to me like I'm stupid and pointed at the sign at the top "it says cutting table". I wanted to buy 20 yards of fabric and I asked her to double check how much for each yard. We all know things get misplaced on the wrong area. Before committing to buying all that fabric, I wanted to check the price. She then say that she could not check the price. She said she did not have a price scanner because there's too many employees working. She then walked away without saying anything. I'm standing there confused because I did not know if she was planning to go get a scanner or just left me. She came back with a scanner, told me the price and started cutting the fabric. She has no customer service skills and kept making smart remarks when I asked her a question. I ended up changing my mind about how much fabric to buy. Instead of 20 yards, I got 5 yards. I agree with everyone's experience about the lack of customer service, lazy employees standing around and their poor attitudes. Just to mention, there were no other customers in the store. I was the only one there on a Saturday afternoon which was very sad. All those remarks were unnecessary. I've been a long time customer there and will be taking my business elsewhere. Everything i usually get could be purchase at hobby lobby. I miss the nice ladies at Joan's that actually know how to cut fabric and interact with customers. I shouldn't have purchased any fabric that day and regret wasting my time there. The employee was a young Hispanic lady, light skin, long dark hair tied in a low pony tail with large glasses. I would leave zero stars if I could. Rude employees standing around pretending to work. You walk up and ask a simple question and get greeted with a rude "what?" Only to be told we don't sell that item here. And to look away as if I don't exist or am bothering. I politely asked if they could double check as their website shows they have the product in stock. How do you expect a business to thrive or last if the employees are lazy and rude. With terrible performance. There shouldn't be 7 employees at a store with 2 on the floor "working" while the rest are standing around. The place was pretty unorganized and very filthy. Floors look like they haven't been mopped in ages. The smell inside just smelt stale. I wouldn't waste my time here. Better off ordering from online. read more

Not a fan of Michael's as of lately. I went in on a Sunday to get some crafts. They didn't have any small baskets so you have to carry everything by hand. They only offer carts which can be annoying. The selection of crafts vary, and it felt like there wasn't much selection. I left within 10-15 minutes of exploring. The staff and service was ok as well. They ask if you need assistance but my only ask was for a cart lol. Other than that the value seemed to be a little pricey for the quality. I would suggest hobby lobby might be a better option. read more

Well I have a friend who has a cricut machine. She uses this store to get last minute supplies and specials. She knew I was looking at getting a Cricut Joy Xtra and noticed them on sale. I'm will be 70 years old in a few months but got up early, showered and drove the dense fog. When I arrived there were still 2 tags left for the sale for $139.99 with no ending sale date. I took one tag and took it to the register. The woman who helped me came up took the tag and then called to the back to bring up the machine and was checking to see if it was still in stock. She then said they have one but the price is now $189.99. Mind you this is an in store special with the tags right next to the machine. I will never set foot in this store again. Shame on you Michaels for not honoring your own in store promotions. I should have taken a picture of the tag but was so mad I just walked out. I checked into them not honoring the price and will be turning this over to weights and measures. That's who monitors crooks like this. read more

Two stars is for the ones who do an excellent job. My last experience was awful, showed my inspiration to the nail tech and he agreed he could do it(french tip with tortoise shell design) when it came to forming the french on the almond shape nails he was stubborn and wanted to hurry up and finish the job, i insisted it wasn't how i liked it( i finally just settled) when it came to the design he said he couldn't do it. Taking you back to the first sentence when he agreed he could, had a huge disagreement where i had two of them speaking over me and saying it was impossible to do the tortious shell by hand and tried giving me cheetah stickers; to end! I paid 45$ and walked out with an incomplete job about to pay somewhere else to fix mistakes read more

The store has a lot of fun craft deals but whatever you do stay away from their restroom.. unfortunately I had to use it and it was atrocious. Neither toilet flushed, paper towels and toilet paper and liquid on floor. The sink looked like it was falling partially down wall so please save yourself and go first because it has not been clean any time ( years apart) I have had to use it. I don't go here often even though it's closer to my house than Joann's or Hobby Lobby. Today there were three employees talking at front of the store near the registers when I was ready to checkout. I haven't been in the store since Christmas and I didn't realize that they now have self checkout so I walked up to the register closest to the employees who were still talking and waited. One of the three turned to me and said, "I'm actually at the register down there." And then walked in the opposite direction. I turned around and started to go back "down there" and did a few things at a different register before coming to help me. She was on her phone through the entire transaction and was leaning over, away from me, looking at her phone when she pulled my receipt from the register, mumbled something, and waved it in my direction. read more

Terrible service in framing department.went in store to get help with a picture that I wanted to get made into a glass picture after 3 people I was helped by having them point at a board and tell me to go on line.Wow.This was a picture of a sunset that my father who passed away took with my mother and wanted to get it for her for Christmas.Thank you for something hard even harder. read more

We went in to locate a piece of glass for a very small frame. Chris in the custom framing department went above and beyond by replacing the glass, assembling the picture in the frame and putting a backing sheet and little rubber picture wall stoppers on the back. It was immaculate and more than I expected. Then he refused to charge for his beautiful job! The cashier mentioned that he's the best picture frames in the valley. Now I have to come back and put his skills to the test with a big job. If he can do something so special for this mundane job, the big job has to be special. read more

I appreciate that they allow multiple coupons (or multiple transactions if I've got different paper coupons) for purchases unlike the dumb Hanford store which reads so deep into the fine print. Not pleased with this place BY ANY MEANS!!! Not living in area, I was thrilled when this store started online ordering to pick up in store. With the closest option for a store as Visalia and Bakersfield I ordered an item for pick up that was in stock in Visalia. I get to the store and as told when though my order was ordered the items were sold to a customer in store. The explanation received was "I don't know what to tell you". I have worked retail and understand mistakes are made but the utter disregard for customer service and done right rudeness of staff was appalling. It was not as if it was layaway and the item wasnt purchased. I placed the online order like any other order and it was sold. I will definately be exclusively doing my craft shopping at Hobby Lobby. read more

I heard a worker ask a customer if she needed help finding anything, the customer said no, but then I thought "hey I need help with something" so I asked her where something was and her quick immediate response was "I don't know, I'm just the florist, I don't know where anything is in the store. Michaels is the best place to go for crafts. Unlike Hobby Lobby and Joann's fabric. Michaels has the handcrafts like birdhouses, cards, scrapbooks and or paints. When I get to Michaels I have so much fun choosing which paint I want or which frame. I love going to Michaels around Thanksgiving like beforehand for decorations and Christmas time. That is because they have 10% to 40% on anything of Christmas or Thanksgiving. Michaels can schedule an opening for you to craft something with your friends. Michaels has fun creative things like canvases, decorations, frames, and the workers there are very helpful. Also very clean floors, unlike the other crafts store I have gone to. The deals are very good there and the coupons are the best. Very good quality on their products. read more

Rude Rude RUDE! I had to come here two days in a row for crafting supplies and both times I've had the same cashier. Heavy set woman with glasses and name starts with an A. I couldn't see her full name because her vest was on crooked. As stated, she was just plain rude. Worst customer service ever. She couldn't even provide the basic services such as a simple " hello, thank you or you're welcome." She did remember to ask me if I was a reward member, but other than that nothing. Not my first time here, customer service is usually great, but not this time. I was trying to locate a product. Cashier was nice enough to ask someone on the floor where it was located. She directed me where to go. I looked for the product, no luck. Then I asked another associate who was on the floor. He just pointed where to look or go..still couldn't find it. When I finally paid for my things at the cash register, same cashier, asked if i found what I was looking for. I said no. And she said..ohh..okay and did nothing about it. I love Michaels. I enjoy all the fun, crafty goodies and the size makes it easy to navigate. It could use some better cake decorating tools and fondants. Wilton is so-so. My problem with this particular store is the lack of employees. I doesn't matter what day or what time you go in, there will a long line and no more than two cashiers. And if you get two cashiers, you're lucky! Hire some more people or hand out more hours!! read more

I love the store but worst customer service anywhere. I asked for a roll of faux pearls like a roll I had bought there for a craft project and the girl told me they do not and had never carried it, she did tell me she would go check on it when I told her I had bought it there and she walked off..... she was to busy talking to another employee to come back. I wish I had a way to scan receipts because I went down the street to Joanne's and spent $300.00. I called Michaels this morning for some paint I needed and the factory showed Michaels as a local store that carried it. I stayed on hold for 18 min's in the mean time I picked up my house phone called Orchard Supply they had it, asked them to hold it, hung up with them called Michaels back had someone pick up the phone, put me on hold not even saying can you please hold..... this is Michaels NOTHING I hung up and called the manager.
