What am I doing here? Updating my review for the Dollar Tree, you ask? That's right, bargain hunters. Dollar Trees in general are usually a pretty shabby affair, but this one must be under new management or something because it was running like a fine-oiled machine. Gone were the aisles littered with remnants of past shopping trips and fallen items off the shelves. Gone was the line 12-deep. Instead, the whole place was neatly stocked and tidied up to the point that I couldn't find one shelf with a particular product out of place. There were plenty of employees busily doing their thing and available to answer questions. And although there was just a single line up front, it moved very quickly. So, a smooth process, minus some otherwise interesting clientele. I'd come back in a jam, but I won't go out of my way for it. read more

I got food poisoning from the food here. I purchased a bad batch of ice cream from this store, and after reporting it I asked that they remove it from the shelves to prevent anyone else from getting food poisoning. They refused and continued selling the bad batch. I bought two different tubs of ice cream but they both had the same issue. Each had a sandy, grainy type of texture. read more

Very pleased with this store. Had a bunch of things that are of courses reasonably priced at buck and a few bucks more. Very clean isles. Great selection of nick nacks. Came in for some candles and then had to get a old school fav candy bar for my niece, some cares for my moms bday and then nothing else or else we would have needed a cart .... when in need of those last minute things this is the place. Plus they have balloons galore and that's awesome!!! Nice job!!!! read more

Stores been remodeled, but some of their staff need to be retrained. From long lines, lack of stock and products advertised that never seem to be in stock. Lines that make you remember the days at Disneyland and shopping carts with flag poles so that the elderly and disabled people have a little extra pain in shopping during a damn pandemic. Masks not always enforced, but the carts going outside...best damn believe they will chase you down like trump chasing a cheeseburger. When you visit Dollar Tree in other cities, you realize that ours in Tulare are not up to par. I don't like leaving negative reviews, but rude customer service and the cart issue is a problem for me as a person with MS and disabled. Hire more people to collect carts like most stores do, or have employees that help your elderly and disabled customers. Also, we're in a pandemic...a year in and one checkout line with 6' distancing while stating over a loud speaker to social distance then there is a line going down an aisle where people are trying to shop. Impulse buying 101 by having candy and snacks moved to have the main line go through for added sales, but not good putting a popular section in a place where you have your line. We shop here for convenience and the staff is usually great during the day, but at night it is hit and miss and tonight was a strike out. I do know they're trying and I worked customer service for 20+ years and was a regional and store manager, I have empathy and compassion for these employees, but maybe just maybe some in customer service should have empathy and compassion for their customers...unless they are rude, then screw them, but that can go both ways... read more

If you don't like paying inflated prices for basic staples then Dollar Tree should be your go to store for basic supplies. Everything in the store costs only $1 each. Some things, like the greeting cards, are actually 2/$1. Dollar Tree carries a variety of items from toiletries (toothbrushes, toothpaste, mouthwash, shampoo & conditioner, razors and shaving cream, and much much more), and over the counter medications (Ibruprofen and Acetaminophen and more). This is one of the best places to pick up any household cleaning item you can think of. My house cleaning lady was very picky about cleansers, but she never complained about anything I purchased at the Dollar Tree Store. Planning a party? They've got everything from paper and plastic napkins, plates, and cups to party favors and even gift bags, wrapping paper, tissue paper, and bows to get you on the right track. Do you REALLY need to pay $3-$7 each for fancy gift bags at other stores when you can get nice quality ones here for $1? I wouldn't even think of it! There are plenty of arts and craft supplies, office supplies, and even a section with items that elementary school teachers would need in their classrooms. And they're priced SIGNIFICANTLY lower than at the teacher supply stores. There's a large section that rotates through seasonal items: Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentines Day, and Easter to name a few. If you're outfitting your dorm room or first apartment they have a great selection of housewares such as plates, bowls, mugs and glasses, kitchen gadgets, even stuff for your bathrooms and closets. Get organized for a fraction of the price you'd pay even at Target or WalMart. There is a section full of food, but my favorite section is the candy aisle. I'm picky about my candy, but they have plenty of familiar brand names such as: Nerds, Hot Tamales, Skittles, Mike & Ike, Reese's Pieces, Swedish Fish, Lemonheads, Dots, Good & Plenty, Sugar Babies, Milk Duds, Whoppers, Jujyfruits, M&Ms, Butterfinger, Snickers, Baby Ruth, the list goes on and on, The cashiers here are very friendly, too. Mom and I got to chatting with Jackeline who kept a smile on our faces. We were chatting about the price for helium filled mylar balloons and why the 99 Cent Only Stores charge $1.50 for balloons filled with helium and the Dollar Tree only charges $1. This is a very pleasant place to shop. I scored some plastic organizers for my classroom and my mom picked up some baby blankets for her puppies. All in all, it was a good day to save! read more
