I took my mother to Visalia Fox Theatre to see The Beach Boys. We arrived 30 minutes before the show started. We were checked by security, our tickets were scanned, and we were in! The staff we met were helpful and courteous. The lobby was a tight squeeze with people waiting in the concessions line (alcohol was sold outside), browsing the merchandise table, or just chatting it up. Our seats were definitely a snug fit with minimal leg room- thank goodness for intermission. Being such a small theatre most seats come with a good view of the stage. Our seats were under the control booth and the stage light shone right over the tops our heads making it a bit difficult to focus. There was an abundant amount of security which made me feel safe. Not sure how rowdy Beach Boy fans can get, but you never know. I'm glad my hometown has a historic place where young and old can come together to enjoy in the arts, music, and other forms of entertainment.

The Fox Theatre has to be considered Visalia's most prized cultural landmark. It is the best place in town to take a date if you want a dash of culture. I have been there to see the Tulare County Symphony several times and have not been disappointed.

I ordered salmon, which was a very large piece of salmon and it looked delightful, but no flavor at all. It was overcooked so it was a bit dry and I could tell without even asking that this was farm raised pre-frozen salmon. This was not a $30 slice of salmon. It was served on a bed of lettuce.. the lettuce was crisp and fresh and there was an egg included, which was a bit chewy for a hard boiled egg so it was overcooked as well. There were several large slices of tomatoes, which were just too big and probably should've been diced up and served appropriately. There was also some large slices of cucumber and a big slice of onion. There was one little bread stick. It just did not and was not suitable for a restaurant of this caliber/price range. i'd have to say I was very disappointed. The value of the food did not match the price tag. Conclusively very disappointed of this $40 salad.

Damn, I gotta say for me, 2025 was a great year for concerts…read more Twenty shows all told, at venues ranging geographically over six thousand miles from Southern and Northern California, to Las Vegas, to Tulsa, Oklahoma and Munich, Germany. It truly was a great year. If you would've asked me on June 1 what was my favorite of the 2025 shows I'd seen I would have said the two Dead & Company concerts I saw at the Las Vegas Sphere. Absolutely incredible shows. But then in October I travelled to Tulsa to see some shows at Cain's Ballroom. I visit Oklahoma every year and I always make it a point to see a show or two at Cain's. This year at Cain's I saw two artists I had never heard of before. The headliner for the two shows I saw was Josh Meloy. He was good, and had a fantastic band behind him. But it was the band opening the show for Josh on the first night that blew me away: Kenny Feidler and the Cowboy Killers. I don't remember the last time I saw a band that I immediately fell in love with so completely. I walked out of that show a changed person. Kenny is a prolific songwriter. He's a former rodeo star and many of his songs reflect that experience. Most commonly Kenny's music is classified as Alt-Country, but I don't actually know what that means. What I do know, though, is rock and roll. And Kenny's band, The Cowboy Killers are a kick ass rock and roll band. First thing I did after seeing him at Cain's was go online to check out Kenny's tour schedule. I was so happy to discover he would be playing some shows in California in December. I had to choose between Costa Mesa and Fresno. Costa Mesa would've been closer but after I checked out the Yelp page for Fulton 55, I instantly knew this would be the place to see a show. And I was right. The venue is a great place to see live music. Security at the door was cool. Inside, the sound was clear and loud, the crowd was chill, and it didn't take forever to get a drink at the bar. Brady Stovall opened the show and I enjoyed his set. I liked how his drummer just used the Cowboy Killer's drummer's kit, so it didn't take long between bands. Kenny Feidler and the boys played a 17 song, 90 minute set that included a blistering, nearly six minute version, of the song Cowboy Killers. Happily, a lot of the songs performed were from Kenny's most recent (2025) release, The Western Tragedy, including Idaho Hippies and The Bronc Fighter. After the show I got the chance to meet Kenny and get a photo. What a great guy! This wasn't the first time Kenny has played a show at 55 Fulton, and inshallah it won't be the last. Whenever that next show happens, for sure I'm gonna be there. Mikey C says: damn right!

Always a good time here. A great place to see one of your favorite bands play. "Back in the day," I've come to see a huge variety of shows. I hope they get to that point again with good attendance since this space is pretty large and open. This is a pretty old building pretty much next door to Warnors Theater. It's showing some wear, I felt bad for the old bar top that is really scraped and scuffed (and sticky). but this is still a decent place for shows or to rent for events. It can feel empty if there aren't a lot of people. Our last two visits were to hear music, both times really good - DJ Mr Leonard about a month ago and then The Box playing live with local artists Hope Garcia and Ben Napoles. Both times music was great and I had so much fun dancing .... But there was hardly anyone in attendance! Just crazy. My biggest complaint is that they rarely have any good beers. And the draft beer tastes ... off. The other thing is the drinks are inconsistent. So I stick to simple here; jack and coke, etc. and that's kind of a bummer. *however,* I can get a simple (and large) drink of say, Tanqueray or Courvesior with soda for just $8. I'll take it! Last night they were serving tacos for cheap, which was nice - we bought another round with them so also smart lol. And bartenders have always been friendly, no assholes. Also important, bathrooms have always been clean. Live long and prosper, Frank's Place

Gave this 4 stars for the fact that it was Indoors and in the evening from 6-10pm. Good variety of beers and local eateries for the Bacon bites competition. For the 1st hour it was comfortable to walk around. Into the 2nd hour-ish, vendors started running out to food and some beers. The music was okay, but drowned out to the thirsty crowd and conversations. Hopefully next year they will have larger aisles for people to comfortably walk, get beers, and more places to sit or eat at (standing tables). A few more food options would have been ideal as well. All in all --- a good starter festival, I tried local food, local and non local beers, and I now have this experience under my belt.

Fast forward to now, it has been renamed to Strummer's but it still possesses the same concept except it's 21 and over now. I've seen cover bands here, rock bands and I've come to boogie for their themed nights like 70s night 80s night ,90s night and dark wave. The cover charge is usually five dollars. There's two bars, one adjacent to the dance floor and then the main bar with booths and seating. They do offer food as well like $5 pizza slices, Mozz, stocks, sliders and your typical bar food fare. The crowd ranges here from Young 21-year-olds to people in their 50s and 60s. It kind of depends on the theme of the night. For example, if you come on Bad Bunny night, it's all youngsters in their 20s. If you come for a disco night or 80s night, then it'll be a wider range. Security is tight and they do a good job of repelling any type of drama because it is notorious that fights breakout in the Tower, but they keep all that drama at bay here. You can always expect to have a good time especially with a group of friends. I definitely recommend checking them out and looking at their lineup to see what appeals to you.
