My parents were treated terribly the night of the Amy Grant concert recently. My parents rarely are afforded the opportunity to go out due to chronic pain because of their disabilities . I had purchased tickets for my mom for Christmas due to sentimental reasons . She was very excited , got dressed up and so did my dad who walks with not one but two canes . They took their pain meds and decided to make it a date despite physical barriers . They drove from Hanford to Visalia Fox Theatre. There was no available parking nearby so my dad parked 2 blocks back and hobbled to meet my mom on his two canes for two blocks . Once at the door some young employee tells my mother she can't come in with her backpack purse , meanwhile others are entering inside with purses that didn't have straps . This very young looking employee alerts a " manager " and the manager advances toward my mom with a disgusted expression from what my mom described who by the way is nice to everyone . I'm the mean one when my people are treated badly , but she is not . My mom asks , I dont understand the rationale . How is this purse any different than the other purses other than it has two straps and you can wear it like a backpack? How is that a safety issue in comparison to a regular purse . Both can easily conceal contraband ? I can't walk this far again . I guess I can't go ." The so-called-manager stated " well I guess you can't" in a condescending tone . My handicapped parents hobbled back to their car defeated and were unable to attend the concert that I paid FULL PRICE for in December. They were really sad . You people are monsters ! Close to 150 dollars down the drain . I wonder what Amy Grant would think about how you treated my parents . She is a Christian artist . I was livid when I found out . I was at work while this occurred otherwise your staff would have gotten a very unpleasant phone call from me in real time for how badly they treated my parents . I did call the theatre and I was directed to a voice mail of a woman named Wilamina. She never returned my call ( to my knowledge) No voice mails left . I guess she had better things to do with her time as a manager than manage business relationships with unhappy consumers . Do better Visalia Fox Theatre . My questions for this business are as follows 1. What accommodations do you have in place for ADA laws that accommodate persons with disabilities? Seating ? Parking ? Are your staff educated with ADA laws and what specific training do you provide ? When your staff identified two seniors who were struggling with visible disabilities , were they offered assistance ? 2. How is it that two straps on a purse are more dangerous or threatening than a single strap bag ? Please enlighten me on how there is a greater likelihood of contraband entering the theater with a two strap purse . Brilliant . Your safety measures are superior and sophisticated as are your professional and empathetic staff . On a side note, I've been sharing this experience with some friends . My friend mentioned she attended an event at Hanford Fox theatre a few months ago and was permitted to bring in her backpack purse .

It's about the experience! This venue is good for a non-mainstream concert show. Many comedy shows…read morecome thru here and do well. Rock and country concerts are another matter entirely. Although security is present they do not enforce seating at all. You may pay for a premium seat but folks are allowed to bounce to the front and down the aisles near the stage and block your view. There is seating only in the orchestra area no pit so essentially folks are on top of you or stealing your purchased premium seat to be near the stage. Quite annoying! Folks are also over served alcohol which makes for an even less pleasant experience when you're getting spilled drinks on you and hit in the head because a drunk girl can't control her swaying hands. I witnessed this and no action by security standing nearby. It's sponsored by Budweiser so expect Bud products. No food only overpriced popcorn to go with the over priced beer, cocktails and wine. One regular sized can of beer is $12. Sometimes it's not about the money you make it's about the customer experience! The Fox theatre in Bakersfield is well managed and a completely more pleasant experience as a concert venue. If you're looking to have a positive time out making great memories then select the Bakersfield Fox theatre over the one in Visalia.

This review is for the Parent & Me dance class for ages 18 months to 3 years old. I was initially…read moreexcited to enroll my 2-year-old daughter, who loves to dance. Unfortunately, the class quickly became a disappointment. The instructor, Janelle, offered minimal instruction and mostly ran through routines without engaging the children--only occasionally praising the same few students while ignoring the others. While I understand parents are there to support their child, other Parent & Me classes we've attended had instructors who were far more hands-on and encouraging. My daughter was also going through a phase of learning boundaries and keeping hands to herself. Instead of addressing the concerns with me directly, the teacher reported the issue to the front desk, and I received a text stating that my daughter's behavior was a problem. I offered to withdraw her from class as I didn't want her to be a problem or distraction for others, but was told I would not receive a refund for the class or recital. The receptionist Ms. Sophie said she would speak to the teacher, but essentially offered no real solution or options on how we could work together to address the issue. Recital picture day was also poorly organized. Multiple groups were assigned the same time slot, and everyone was crowded into a hot classroom with limited seating. Our group--despite having the youngest and most restless children--was scheduled second to last. As I was heavily pregnant, I alternated between sitting on the floor and standing for over an hour. When I went to the lobby to look for a seat, Ms. Sophie, immediately told us to return to the classroom. I calmly explained I was pregnant and needed a seat, but she showed no concern or professionalism and rudely dismissed me (she was generally always rude and curt with me for whatever reason, and it seemed like she seized this opportunity to be even more rude). She escalated tensions by raising her voice at my husband. Eventually, another teacher who was present reluctantly found me a chair. My daughter then came running out of the picture room (parents were not allowed in) stating that she was scared and that her teacher had yelled at her. Overall, the staff came across as young, unprofessional, and lacking in basic customer service. The teachers do not seem prepared or have the experience to run a classroom with toddlers. The only positive thing I could say was that my daughter was allowed to perform on recital day despite having a rough morning which caused her to arrive late and upset. Aside from that, our experience was overwhelmingly negative. I would not recommend this studio for Parent & Me classes; you're better off with city-run tot classes that offer a better value without the stress or high cost, and more importantly, treat families with more care and respect.

Sure the class doesn't let you see your kid while they dance (there is a curtain blocking the windows and one mom told they only open it some days which is lowkey kind of creepy) but I gave it the benefit of the doubt because Edgar appeared warm and welcoming that first day even offering my daughter a lollipop. My daughter has prior experience dancing in LA and just recently did wonderful at a recital. I explained all this to Edgar and even showed him a picture of her recieving a medal. My daughter is deaf from one ear but in her class in LA she never had to wear her hearing aide because it was never a problem. The teacher in LA had her in the front row in a small class of six. Unfortunately I wasn't able to go today Monday, 13, 2023 as I was caught up at work and had my mom take her instead. Sadly the nice experience I had BEFORE I paid last Monday was apparently nonexistent today. My mother claimed she witnessed Edgar being rude to my daughter through a crack in the curtain as he measured her with a measuring tape from the middle of her private parts to the top of her shoulder (which I guess is normal for fitting l even though the other teacher in LA knew their size just by eyeing them) and also overhead him talk negatively of my daughter to other parents after the class stating quote "she said she had experience and had danced in another class before but I don't think so she's not ready for a recital...." I wasn't present so I called Edgar and told him what my mom said and he denied it was about my daughter stating he spoke directly to the parent about their kid. I almost believed him but then right after he said he actually wanted to talk to me because he felt my four year old daughter needed to be moved to a class for two year olds because she "doesn't listen" and kept "jumping around." I told Edgar before I paid to sign her up that she's deaf and needed to be in the front of the class to be able hear properly to which he agreed. But today it was a class of thirteen or more kids so my daughter ended up all the way in the back. It's just strange that all of a sudden I confront him about possibly being unprofessional and he suggests this now. I even told Edgar I can just put her hearing aide on for the next class but he still dismissed her saying she'll be better in the other class for two year olds because it is a small class of six but yet again...why didn't he suggest that in the first place until now ? The first day I signed up he told me the class she's currently in would be perfect for her because she's four and because she has prior experience but all of a sudden "she doesn't listen." I finally told him I won't be able to make that class as I get off later than the time it starts but he just suggested MY MOM take her. So I'm just going to try to talk to him or the other owner Alyssa in person tomorrow to make sure they permanently remove my card from the file as I won't be able to attend another class after today. I rather continue to pay more for her classes in LA than have my daughter be treated like a piece of dirt here for her disability.
