The hubs and I have been coming here since 2013 and we have always been pleased. You have to pay up front but it is so much easier. The 10 year plan can be intimidating at first but we have been so glad we did it. Just the confidence of knowing where we stand in reference to the things we cannot see is so worth the cost. Your health should be a priority and this proactive approach gives us the tools to make it a priority. Our piece of mind is worth every penny. Prior to going to virtual imaging I read several of the reviews. I was concerned as to what I was getting myself into. To my pleasant surprise everything and everyone treated me like family! I was graciously greeted by the front desk and within a few minutes a very sweet lady called me back. She shared a lot of information with me and made sure that all of my questions were asked. They explained all of my options to me. I now have the peace of mind that I have annual access to some of the best preventative heart and cancer scans. Having both heart disease and cancer in my family staying healthy as long as possible is one of the most important things and Virtual Imaging is helping me do that! I would not recommend this company. I understood that there would be a presentation to upsell me on their services. I was very open minded about that....What I got a very unprofessional sales pitch with plenty of curse words thrown in. Who in their right mind would walk in and drop $2500+ for the package they were offering without any time to take home some literature so they can research the service and make an informed decision. Not me. I also felt disappointed with the actual scan. I don't understand why they couldn't give me a copy of the scan on a disc. I would have been more than willing to pay and an extra fee to make that happen. Their cost would have been minimal to make that happen. The only way I could have had a copy of that would have been if I would have actually enrolled in their program they were offering. I received my report which contained 8 very small (1.5 inch x 1.5 inch) low quality still photos which are basically worthless and didn't show any detail. I feel like I pretty much wasted my time and money. Overall I was very unhappy with this offer and would not recommend even with a Groupon. My recommendation to Groupon is to remove this offer entirely as this made their company look bad. read more

I purchased their 10 yr package and find that they are more interested in selling more new visits and getting you to do friends and family, than in letting you use your 10 yrs of scans. You must pay $125 per year for a radiologist review of your scan. This feels like a scam to me. The sales pitch is like a timeshare pitch (which others have stated) - hard sell and manipulative, qualifying you in advance to ensure you make enough money to spend $3000 for 10 yrs of scans (or $3000 to cover their cost of groupon-covered initial scan). It just doesn't seem accurate. I feel that they need to cover the cost of their expensive machinery. Best of all, I purchased my 10 yr package and they had me in their contact list, so their telemarketers called me. I thought they were calling to remind me of my annual scan. They asked me who called me. I didn't recall the name. They couldn't transfer me to anyone (Later, I determined, their pay must be commission based.) I got another call back and they said they were happy to offer me a scan on them. I said that I had purchased a $3000 package for 10 years of scans, so technically, it would be on ME, not THEM. They offered to get me scheduled. I agree with other reviewers - not the most competent staff. It is concerning that they may be giving people false belief that they are healthier than they think they are based on a good scan. I'd use a competent medical facility over this one and I would not refer family and friends. They want me to refer family and friends so that I can save my $125 annual radiologist fee. It should be called heart scam, not heart scan. I called to make an appointment for myself, was told that if I meet 'certain' criteria, I would get the scan for free, provided my wife is present too. I didn't think too much about that, because the claim was that this is a requirement so that they get federal funding or something like that. Here's the catch - they try to sell you their scan 'packages', either 3, 5, or 7 years, at a substantial cost, several thousand dollars! For most people, I think all these scans are a total waste of money and time. In either case, we had to sit through a presentation, then offered one of these packages. When I refused, his demeanor changed, he said he'd check to see how long the wait is for the 'free' scan, and we were told it would be almost an hour later. We had our scans, and received the results by email. The scans were full of errors and horrible quality. I honestly don't trust anything on them. Do yourself a favor and go to Northside or Emory, and pay either $99 or $150 for a real scan. read more

My husband and I were there for 2 hours, most of that time we were sitting in an office with a sales person not a medical professional trying to sell us their product. Heart scan completed. What I find suspicious and odd is that my total calcium score is zero (0.) It could be an extremely rare blessing, but ALL of my family suffers from heart disease...parents, grandparents, paternal uncle, etc. Every number on the report is zero. As an avid yelp participant I am blown away by the erroneous information. This is total crap. My wife and I signed up for the 7 year program. For less than $500 a piece a year we receive what's called a full body scan. I'm not sure if that's a lot of money to you but the scan found an aneurism in her abdominal area. It saved her life. I don't remember any high pressure sales person like another reviewer mentioned, but I do know that Virtual Imaging saved my mom's life. Having in interest in preventive healthcare, I purchased a Groupon. Considering Imaging services for CT are over $1000 self-pay, I didn't mind hearing anyt additional information in exchange for my $20 groupon. I got one for my mom also. I didn't expect to have any negative results, but mom is in a category of people that likely would have some blockages; over 50, raised on biscuits, fried chicken, red meat, sweet tea and jack daniels - and not a regular exerciser to say the least. She'd seen a cardiologist recently but the answers were that they had no answers. "wait and see" was the MD response. However, once mom had a scan (which the doctor wouldn't have ordered, and if he did, insurance doesn't consider it protocol so they wouldn't have covered it) the information came back that her heart was 99% blocked. Having been in healthcare, I knew the doctor would be able to act with the additional information. I instructed her to send the radiology report to her Cardiologist. With that data, her cardiologist was able to get an interventional procedure scheduled and covered - versus an Emergency Event with catastrophic costs. I've since sent more friends to Virtual Imaging and they've been very impressed with such affordable access to preventive care. When they say it's information that could save your life, I am telling you from first hand experience, they are not joking. In fact, made such an impression on me, that I enrolled in Imaging school and now I'm taking images of patients now at a local hospital. I asked her about the Groupon offer. She said they honor the offer. I questioned her on it however. Why does a $950 Heart/Lunch scan and consultation cost $86.50 thru Groupon? She said go ahead and buy thru Groupon. My spidey senses were alerted! I haven't made an appointment and probably won't after seeing all of the bad reviews about them. Might not be a scam, the consultation might be a way to upsale, but hearing that you really don't get your scan results after getting the scan makes me wonder if it is legit. I went to this place in October 2014. I dealt with Greg Lopez. I have no history of heart disease-but my wife's family has members that have died from heart attack-stroke,etc. As it turned out, my calcification score was "off the charts" high. I received a call the next morning by 730am from the director alerting me to go see a cardiologist as soon as possible. Long story short, I did and did have some issues that I needed to make a lifestyle change on. I feel the scan gave me a heads up and heeded that warning and am probably alive today-by the grace of God, and that scan, that alerted me too make some serious lifestyle changes. Virtual Imaging is a must for anyone and should be a regular part of health maintenance. My wife arranged for us to have heart scans which, for me, uncovered a high calcium score. Went to my Cardiologist who ordered Heart Cath because of the calcium score. I had no signs of any heart condition. No low energy, no pain, no shortness of breath, no family history, no nothing. I am 62, thin, active, eating a heart healthy low carb, low fat diet for years. The Heart Cath revealed a 75% blockage in the LAD artery (Widow Maker), 70% in another, 40% in a third. After Bypass surgery and 4 stents I feel the same as before the heart scan. Even though I had no symptoms it is obvious the heart scan prevented future health issues and possibly pre-mature death. I am blessed and forever grateful to Virtual Imaging for there dedication to improving health for anyone they come in contact with. They were welcoming, efficient, and direct in letting me know their concerns for my health. Don't wait! Get a scan and have everyone you know get one as well. read more

Fortunately we were actually given the weekend to consider the $4,000 cost over 7 years for full body scans. I would like to share my experience with Atlanta Virtual Imaging. Before I went, I read all the reviews I could get my hands on. Most of them were very negative. We purchased a Groupon and went anyway. I figured that if they started any funny business on me, I would be ready. I have no doubt that the experiences of others were accurately represented. I believe that through the power of the internet, this business has improved. Yeah Internet!!! My wife and I walked in. The front desk staff was friendly and cheerful. We waited about 15 minutes in the waiting room. We then went back to the "Let's make a deal" room. You need to know now that the Groupon is a marketing tool to get people into the business. Lots of businesses do this and Atlanta Virtual Imaging is no exception. It was similar to the timeshare presentations that people talk about. You get a "free" gift but you have to sit through the sales pitch. The gift in this case was a $79 heart and lung scan. The salesman, in my opinion, was sincere and genuine. He believes that their product really saves lives. He went through and outlined various options and put some great spin on it. However, at the end of the day, it is a very expensive venture and one my wife and I did not want to afford. It boiled down to multiple scans over the course of years, whether you need them or not; and they finance (or offer financing through some medical credit card). If you need the scans, it might be a great deal. As it turned out, my scan was completely clear. I got a score of 0 on the calcification so I am not sure why I would need to keep going back. During the sales pitch, I got two really big red flags. 1) If we were to get the deal, we had to buy today. This always makes me pucker. I loathe sales tactics like this. You are asking me to make a $5,000 decision before I walk out the door? Big ole' NO on that one. 2) The reason why we had to decide today is that otherwise we would be "diluting the test pool" and we wouldn't qualify for the subsidies. This is because they don't track our names with the test????? Maybe I heard him wrong but this doesn't even make sense. My name was attached to the test when it came via email so that sounds like some bogus stuff. I have to say though that once he realized we weren't going to buy that day, he politely thanked us and the sales pitch ended. I was on the scanner within 20 minutes and the whole scan lasted about 7-10 minutes. I had to hold my breath a few times and the table wasn't that comfortable but hey, it was 7 minutes. The information you get from the scan is minimal but what do you expect for $79. I found out I had no calcification, no masses detected and that I am truly unremarkable; which is good for a medical report. Would I recommend the Groupon deal? The answer to that is sure, go for it. My experience there was pretty good. Just know going in, they are selling something and are going to try and get you to buy it. If you are just doing the Groupon scan, keep politely saying no. If you are interested in the scans, I would request all the information up front before your appointment so you can go over it and make your decision an informed one. read more

My husband and I went for the free heart scan. While I can't speak to others' experiences, ours was quite pleasant. Niqui our scheduler was nice, and she took time to answer my question before our visit. Eve was very helpful at the front desk and made us feel welcome. Roman made a great case for subscribing up front for multiple scans as preventative medicine, considering that insurance doesn't usually cover extra scans. Depending on your unique situation, the per-scan price can be more cost-effective, and can catch cancer and other problems in the early stages. He was polite, plain-spoken and knowledgeable, and I learned a few things, especially about calcium scoring. We felt Roman was up-front with us about the offer, and never did we feel pressured. We did not buy at our visit, wanting to give it some consideration, and that was fine. We sat in comfortable chairs for about 15 minutes to wait to be scanned. The scan was very simple to complete, only about 5 minutes. I heard of this offer on the radio. I have never been to Virtual Imaging, and I've never had a CT heart scan before, and I have to say it wasn't bad at all. I would recommend them to others, definitely. read more

Ok, so my wife and I just went to Virtual Imaging Atlanta this morning and it wasn't good. Very sales oriented (and I have done sales in the past) like a timeshare for 40 mins and then I told him we just wanted to use our Groupon and see this process through one time before committing further. I legitimately told him I would consider his offer of "Concierge Service" for $8995 for 10 years after using the Groupon, and see. He said ok and walked us out to another waiting room. At this point my wife and I were ok. But in five minutes our sales guy came back and said it would be 45-50 more minutes. There was another sales guy giving it to another couple there and honestly they could have been actors because everything was said loud enough for us to hear. Unusual for a semi-medical procedure. We stepped outside discussed it and left, because I am more than 50% sure we would have gotten another round of sales effort from the guy 45 minutes later. Now I have to try to get the money back for my Groupon. Maybe they were just busy by the time we came out of the 1st sales presentation. Even if that was the case, I had defined, before I went that we would do a max of about 1 hour 20 minutes. I think this review is fair, and it may be true that others have moved through quicker. But have no doubt about it what you will hear is a about how you need to have these scans done annually for it to be any good, and that they are being reimbursed by the American Heart Assn and research organizations. His angle was that they sell your scans to them as part of a clinical study for a control group. Also, you can only get one scan at this price every 5 years because they won't get reimbursed for more than one scan under a patient #. In addition, the cost of the "Concierge Service" will basically double if we use the Groupon because we would have used the one scan already. Absolute bologna at 9 am on a weekday. read more

The receptionist was very pleasant. After completing some forms which addressed personal medical history and information we waited about fifteen minutes in the general reception area. My wife and I were then led to a room for an introduction to a person wearing medical scrubs or a "quasi medical uniform." We then were given a "hard sell" presentation to purchase additional virtual imaging scans beyond that we paid "Groupon" to receive from this company. Medical terms were used during the presentation, company names like GE were used and we were even shown an old TV program presentation. The lady making the presentation used "negative slang like the Widow Maker Artery Condition" rather than limiting her presentation to appropriate medical terminology. I did not appreciate the "fear factor" used in the "hard sell." We were told we must purchase today in order to receive the "research study participant" subsidy. This was a major "red flag" for me. When I informed the lady making the presentation that I had participated in many medical studies and "never was asked to pay anything in order to be a research participant" she became sheepish. I informed the lady we only wanted the scans for which I paid in advance some eighty dollars. We were dismissed from the presentation and taken to the reception area to wait for our scans. Although our appointment was a two in the afternoon it was after four in the afternoon before we received our scans. Overall this was an unpleasant experience for us and I would never use this company again. Upon receiving the scan report I did not obtain any information about the lung imaging. I will forfeit the money paid for the lung scan because I will NOT go back to this company for anything. Very Disappointed in the results of our scans. There was a hard core sales pitch and then you find out the numbers for the heart scan was not actual. They did not consider prior open heart bypass surgery. We were extremely frightened by the bad numbers and was advised that a my husband get a test. All this was not needed because his bypassed arteries were clear. We were scared for nothing. Prior breast cancer patients should not expect to find out if you have any cancer in your body. You would think that this scan would see cancer or at least you get that from the hard sell, however, after the scan, you need to get more scans. I wanted to check reviews before committing to a large amount of money. I was told you had to decide that day. It has to do with some kind of study that they are getting subsidy funds from. I feel like a real dummy. I hope other people do not get caught with this free heart scan ad. They pretend to be such a study and then you find out there is a radiation reading fee. This is the worst ever customer service experience yet. Run!! Find another vendor. Absolutely the worst first impression and customer service I have ever had. I have tried repeatedly to schedule my appointment based on my schedule, and these people have made it close to impossible to do so. The first time I called, I was told that I could only do so if my husband came with me...What is that about? Second phone call was decent. Third was not so good. And today's, which was the forth, was the worst. The person who took my call actually hung up on me when I was trying to press for a sooner date than 3 months out. Again, what is that about? I don't know how this company is still in business. I DO NOT recommend them at all. I would absolutely find another company who performs the same tests. I would have hoped for a better outcome. As an added note, this company has now blocked me from contacting them. I will be looking into contacting local news or consumer alerts in the Atlanta area in order to make them aware of this incident and possibly looking into how this office operates. After talking to a guy for 20 minutes with him giving me info I don't need, I realized this is just a bait and switch sales pitch so they can sell me 10 years worth of scans for an upfront fee of $2,500. And get this, the sales guy was in scrubs but could have just as easily been in a suit. He kept talking about a "trial" but it's just another word for the 10 year contract they want you to sign. And they want you spouse there so they can double the contract. I think they have a great product, but they certainly use a shabby method of trying to sell it. Not a good experience! My fiancé and i bought the Groupon for the heart scan and had already read the reviews about the timeshare type pitch. So after 20 minutes of the hard sell pitch for the 10 yearCT scan we advised the rep that we were only interested in what the Groupon covered. The rep abruptly stood up and said we would have our scans shortly. We then hear her telling the receptionist that I was a C word with a capital C. I can only guess what that meant. We received he report 3 days later and thankful that everything was within normal limits. The report stated we would not need a scan for 3 years so the 10 year plan they tried to sell us would not have made sense anyway. This place was great. They do try to sell you the full body scan but they do give you that free heart scan and it saved my husband's life!!. I have yet to receive my scan results back, so that means I am alright or I am on deaths doors and nothing can help me. My husband and I will be going back for the full body scan. It is well worth the time and the people there were very nice and accommodating. I also would like a discount on that full body scan, due to I have no gallbladder LOL. I bought a Groupon for my husband as his doctor had advised him to get a heart scan just to see how his heart looks. I called to make an appt. and the receptionist refused to let him use the Groupon and have the scan unless I went with him. I asked her if this was a sales presentation, and she said it was to show us the benefits of regular scans. I was mad that the fine print on the Groupon did not say you had to go as a couple under any conditions. It said that if you both buy one, you have to visit together. My wife and I participated in the free heart scan at Virtual Imaging for the second time in about 8 years as advertised on WSB radio. Both experiences were positive and received exactly what we expected. The staff were polite and competent. The offices were clean and hospitable. We do understand that nothing is "free", and Virtual Imaging has other products and services they want to sell. Their selling methods are similar to high pressure selling and reminded me of the "time share" approach, so expect that may be your experience. However, with anyone trying really hard to sell a product, I don't let that bother me since I can say no if something does not seem to be a good value or fit my present needs or budget. So 8 years ago, we simply wanted to check out our hearts. We listened to their other services (i.e. Full Body Scan). We politely said we only wanted the heart scan for now. We got the heart scan and report and all was well. This year, we are older and went to get our heart scan but also to see what the full body scan "packages" costs. We know they want to sell us their product and I wanted to find a value that was comfortable with my budget and would meet our needs to be proactive with our health, especially for heart attach and early cancer detection. After lengthy discussions with the sales agent, they were able to work with us and meet our terms and conditions that will allow us to keep an eye inside our bodies for another 10 years. So when you go, understand you are getting a "free or practically free" product so they can explain to you other services are also available. They certainly want to sell you full body scans, but you can say no. But they are certainly willing to try and work with you to find some common ground if you believe you need to be more proactive. For us, an investment of $4,000 for a chance to catch cancer (my wife is a very high cancer risk) as a supplement to the traditional indicators and annual check up visits with a doctor is well worth it. I recommend that you decide ahead of time what you want, expect them to try and sell you additional products and services, and if the additional services do not fit your particular needs, then say no. I'm really thankful that they offer the free scan so I was took them up on it and then became aware this service is available to us now that we really want it. I cannot comment on the accuracy, level of care, and quality of the full body scan reports yet, but I am assuming the scans are high quality and can be used by second opinion medical professionals if necessary. read more

If I could leave negative starts I would. You're forced to use one star. This is a scam. I wish I had reviewed this before wasting my time and money. What the offered sounded great but it broke my biggest rule of purchase. If the same deal is not available beyond that day then I never buy. That rule saved me on this one. It's been several years, perhaps 5 since I came in for the scan. Big sales pitch, and then the machine wasn't working so they wanted to reschedule. NOT. I heard the recommendation on the radio today, so I looked it up to see if things have gotten better....apparently not. I'll pass. read more

I went in today for my appointment and it was a very pleasant experience. I did purchase this via Groupon a few months ago. What I think may have happened to some of you is that they get a huge rush when they advertise and it is probably hard to get to all of the calls during that time. I do know someone personally who went in recently with her husband, and they did purchase a long term plan. What I can tell you for sure is that it saved her husbands life. He was immediately sent to a cardiologist with severe blockage in this arteries requiring immediate surgery. He is now doing well and feeling much better after surgery (this was only about 3 weeks ago). She did not have any issues (thankfully) on her scan. I don't think this is a scam and I don't think the prices are unreasonable for what they provide for the early detection that you will get if you have something life threatening. My advise is that if you initially purchase this through Groupon, wait a month or 2 and then make your appointment. I did it that way and had no issues. I did call initially and had to wait for a return call but I quickly realized what was going on and it was due to the promotion and volume. I did not feel pressured to buy anything additional. I am not sure I am staying in Atlanta to buy a long term plan but if I do, I am going to go back and have another discussion about the long term plans. The staff were extremely courteous. I hope my results are good and I will find out in a few days. read more
