Overall, I would rate the experience as below average at best. The attractions themselves aren't…read moreparticularly well-designed, and there seems to be a noticeable lack of actors throughout. That being said, I do believe these locations have potential, and I'm genuinely interested to see how they develop and improve over the next few years. If you're simply looking for some inexpensive Halloween fun and a spooky atmosphere, I would still encourage you to check them out!
My biggest criticism, however, has less to do with the attractions and more to do with the professionalism of the owner.
After our visit, a few of his social media posts appeared on my feed. Out of curiosity, I looked into the business a little further and was surprised by some of what I saw. From my perspective, the owner seems to respond rather defensively to criticism, and even occasionally to individuals simply inquiring about potential employment opportunities. Some of the responses to customer reviews also come across as unnecessarily confrontational and unprofessional.
I completely understand that this business is likely his pride and joy, and I respect the time, money, and effort that go into creating and operating a haunted attraction. However, when you operate a business that relies on the public's experience, criticism is inevitable. Not every customer will love what you have created, and that's perfectly okay. As a business owner, you have the choice to take constructive feedback and use it to improve, or simply acknowledge that not every opinion requires a response.
My suggestion would be to consider having someone dedicated to handling customer service and public relations in a professional manner. Alternatively, sometimes the best response is no response at all. Publicly complaining about criticism, posting defensive videos, or engaging in arguments with customers can ultimately do more harm to a business's reputation than the original negative review ever could.
At the end of the day, this is a business, and professionalism matters just as much as the experience you're selling.
I genuinely hope to see these attractions grow and succeed because I do believe the potential is there. With improvements to the attractions themselves and a more professional approach to customer interactions, I think they could become something worth returning to year after year.
