It took many months to get someone from WW to come to resolve them -- and not all were resolved when they sent a single member of their crew to our home for a few hours. Then, we expected (and contacted WW to remind them of) a promised 18 month visit to fix nail pops, unfinished items, and other items discovered once we moved in listed on our knock list, Walk Wright did not honor that commitment. While they may be good at handling the macro details of home construction, they were not trustworthy with "service after the sale", even if the service was listed in the build contract.

Our experience started when Mr Jenkins came to our home to review the project we were about to embark on, walked us through how they work, provided us with a copy of their prices, left a log-in sheet, and said his project manager would arrive the next day to introduce themselves. When I went to pick out tile, the project manager met me at the tile company. (That is another review.....) There were all kinds of issues with the tile company, and instead of weeks, it took MONTHS for us to receive materials. Jenkins's and Co bird-dogged that for me so I didn't have to. As soon as the materials arrived, they started work and stayed on the job until it was done. Turns out the tile company shorted us on floor tile (tile employee who measured our bath apparently flunked basic math).To compound the situation, the tile was imported from Italy and the only place in the country to MAYBE get more was from Fifth Ave, NY. Jenkins's implored the tile company for options, they gave us the floor sample and finally found one remaining tile stashed in their warehouse (WHEW!!). Even through NUMEROUS issues with the tile supplier, Jenkins and Co worked doggedly to get my project done as quickly, and as excellently as possible, even finding an alternate tile supplier for slab after employee at first place neglected to order the vanity slab. I will GLADLY use Jenkins of Northern Neck again, and HIGHLY recommend them for whatever project you have. If I could give them TEN stars, I would!

In general the job was done fairly well but not in line with the way it was described to me. Howard, the owner, said on day 1 that the worksite would be kept tidy and magnets would be used to pick up screws/nails - these things didn't occur to my satisfaction. While Howard was away tending to a family emergency, the crew seemed to knock off early and not leave the job site as they expected. Regarding the final construction- the decking was done well despite some challenges, as were the joist replacements. The additional support beams were completed with what might be called "old school" techniques, which was OK, but many of the beams (2x8) didn't physically contact the joists above, negating the intended purpose meaning those beams weren't supporting the joist above. This also made me wonder if the beams were jacked up as was described to me (in order to ensure the supports were carrying a load). I had to install shims myself to account for this (in addition to cleaning up refuse and construction materials such as screws around the deck and on our driveway during the job). In summary, the crew/company put in a great deal of effort but fell short on some key aspects.

As job dragged on, again because of poor time management, contractor became even more frustrated over his loss of profit and became defensive, hostile, and belligerent toward us. Ultimately, contractor refused to finish punch items and threatened unfounded legal action and property liens if we didn't pay him more than $40k more to cover what he was losing - not what was agreed to in the contract. Legal review determined his demands were unsubstantiated.
