Jim refused to finalize the scope of work, clarify vague "per bid" items, or provide material allowances before demanding more money. He submitted inflated estimates to my insurance company--up to $10,000 more than our contract--while offering me low-grade carpet under $1.50/sq ft. A subcontractor told me, "I know what I'm charging Jim, but I don't know what Jim is charging you... it's a business." He ignored calls, stuck to short emails, and dismissed my concerns as "emotional" or "overreacting." He also used derogatory language, calling his own subcontractor a "redneck." Specifically, the wrong size handles were initially ordered and there was a small chip on the storage pod/shelving, but they proactively installed a different colored set so that our shower was immediately operational. After, the project manager brought over several paint samples in an attempt to match the color of the trim. The worker was very industrious, put in long days and made sure I was happy with everything as he went along. There was a meeting with the estimator when the work was done. I noticed one corner that didn't appear to be finished. The project manager made sure that corner was fixed and another corner I had not noticed, but he felt was good enough. Everyone, including the office help, were courteous, pleasant, helpful and truly wanted me to be completely happy with the end result.

However, home warranty only allowed $629.00 leaving me with a balance of $2,400.00 ( Flue vent=$650.00, Gas line modification=$650.00, Permit=$450.00 (county only charged $53.55 for permit), Water line modification=$650.00)!!! Demanded we pay in cash. When installing the new unit, Patriot Plumbing's work "interfered with the seal of roof pipe collar and caused it to fail and created a gap around area. " (Assessment done by my roofing company). My roof is less than one year old. This repair is going to cost me $500.00!!!!! Per Patriot, they are the sole contractor for American Home Shield.
