So free mugs it was!! Now i came back today to get Blanton's Bourbon and they greeted me when i entered and offered me help right away. Apparently the bourbon doesn't come in often so it was on special display. The sales person also told me if i buy two half size bottles, its $4 cheaper and the same volume of bourbon as the large. I know plenty of people in Woodlake that drink from the "Alphabet" store. It's a clean and well staffed store. Their selection is probably not as vast as some of the other branches, but nevertheless it's still good. The selection of bourbon is very good! They were very busy when I came in but had plenty of staff to keep things moving.

There's a good mix of local and non-local beers as well. I find it can be detrimental to focus TOO much on local beer. I also think they've nailed the size, both in terms of inventory and physical space, because product seems to move at an ideal pace. I've rarely come across too-old beer, which happens quite often in many beer shops. This is THE place to get beer in the area.

I'm used to the boring aisles with bottles lined up, uncomfortable mirrors so the clerks make sure no one is stealing and pretty much no décor other than some random cardboard advertisements for liquor but NOT THIS PLACE! They had a beautiful set up of seasonal liquor displayed at the entrance. A tasting bar built in. A beautiful display of airplane bottles on one wall and actual décor on the walls that made me want to say "I'LL TAKE ONE OF EVERYTHING!". If that wasn't enough, a salesman asked if I needed help and when they couldn't locate a bottle of pumpkin liqueur that I needed, he called a location down the street and had them hold it for me. You'll find microbrews in 6-packs, build your own 6-packs, 22-oz bottles, new releases, imports, and local brews. It looks like a typical convenience store, and you'll find a few chips and breath mints, but the focus is on beers and wines. There were plenty of wines, but I can't vouch for the quality. My eyes were on the beers. It's almost as good as those premium specialty beer stores!
