Being the new hotel on the Royal Mile, Virgin has a lot of growing to do. There is still lots of construction that you have to weave your way through to get in/out of the doors, but it is worth it!
Housed in the historical India Building, the interior is modern and new, and in keeping with Virgin's trademark red features everywhere. The Virgin Hotel makes you feel like a special guest from the second you are greeted at the main door, to the way your room invites you to kick off your shoes, put on the robe and slippers hanging in the closet, and relax for a few minutes before sightseeing on the Royal Mile.
Your stay includes breakfast in the restaurant where you can pick off the menu, (not stale/premade breakfast pastries!) and the food is wonderful!
We also sampled the food at EVE, the bar on the bottom floor. There is live music in the evening, but their full menu is available, is it was delicious and very reasonable! After dinner it was fun wandering around looking at all the music related art and books.
On your way to checkout you can stop at the coffee stand and grab a coffee/tea to take with you. The front desk can arrange a taxi pick up for you to the airport, or to sightsee, which was really convenient.
