I wish I could put 0 stars. I drove an hour bc I needed a corset for a costume. It was a very bizarre, weird , and uncomfortable experience. I was looking around for awhile for a specific white corset. After asking to try it on one of the women's said I can't try it on cause they don't have "the key." I go to pay for it upfront and the women at the desk was disheveled , her face and lips were purple and she was clearly on drugs. This was a thoroughly unpleasant shopping experience. We knew what we were looking for, so when we walked in I declined the offer for help I immediately received. Not a bad start, but I used to work in the adult novelty industry so I know what I'm doing. They didn't have the brand I was looking for, so I asked the girl (who was waiting in the next aisle) if she had what I was looking for. She helped me locate a similar product and then showed me a slightly less expensive version. Still fine. The problem began after I gave her the "Okay thanks!" that should be an immediate indication of "please leave me be." There were was a big awkward pause before she finally walked away. She then loudly announced to her coworker, "keep an eye on that aisle." The tone of voice combined with the constant shadow of an employee really made me uncomfortable. I'm not a shoplifter and I think it's really poor form to make your clients feel like they're doing something wrong by browsing, ESPECIALLY in this kind of store. The art of customer service is really lost on them. We lost our shadow and continued into the novelty section where another employee charged down the aisle at us to see if we needed help. "No thanks. Just browsing." "Are you sure?" "Yes we're all set." "I can't help you find anything?" "No thank you." "If you need anything I can help you." "No thank you." Look I get it. You need to ask, it's your job. The problem is, I'm standing in the middle of an aisle of penis shaped straws and party hats with tits all over them. This has to be the biggest adult toy store I have ever visited, and I have visited a few. Right as you walk into the entry you get a sense of size. The entry way is set up as a display with five or six life size mannequins in various poses and themed outfits. Walking into the main store was like walking into a department store, everything was organized into departments, the store was well lit, and there was loads of area in the store. I did not feel cramped in the store. Ladies looking for bachelorette party supplies or a toy for themselves, there are lots and lots of choices for you. The staff is a bunch of young girls and most of them aren't even friendly. You don't really feel comfortable to approach some of them because they look like they don't enjoy being there at all. Do yourself a favor: don't ever go in here, for anything. I ordered a plain old bottle of Swiss Army lube online from another retailer, 14.99, ended up leaking during shipping with 1/4 of the bottle missing... So this time, I decided to go local. I have shopped at VIP a few times and I think the store is great. The customer service is the absolute WORST I have ever received. I recently went in and purchased a grinder, got it home and it was broken. I quickly returned to the store because it was a $36 product and I was not going to pay that much for something that was broken. The cashier at the store informed me there was no returns which I was aware of but seeing as I just bought it and it was broken I figured I would try anyways. They even told me they should have checked the product themselfs but didn't for some reason. They told me to research where the grinder came from and ask them for a new one. The grinder I purchased is from a factory in china, no way to contact them or get a refund. I then turned to emailing the corporate vip office. I have emailed them several times and I still have yet to hear a responce. You think a store that is trying to get bigger might have customer service? I guess not.
