My wife and I used Elite Kitchen and Bath remodeling for a major remodel of our master bathroom…read more Elite has an office located in Frisco. We have a large master bath. The remodel involved completely gutting the bathroom, relocating the shower, eliminating the bath tub, and installing all new tile and cabinetry. Here are detail positives and negatives from our experience. The remodel in the end is beautiful and the workmanship is excellent. However due to issues we encountered relating to schedule slips and Elites business practices, I would not use them again and I cannot recommend them. Below are positives and negatives from our experience. Positives: Elite is an established company. They use direct employees or select subcontractors that they use on all their jobs. You will not have random subcontractors showing up with no clue as to what they are supposed to do. There was a dedicated project manager for the job who was on site daily. In our case it was Mark who was fantastic to work with. Elite also provides a designer (Madison in our case) to help with the design and choice of materials and colors. Madison who is also fantastic. Detail drawings of the bathroom are generated and are on site for anyone working to reference. However, there was an error in our drawings that resulted in a significant issue (see below). We are very pleased with the design and workmanship of the completed bathroom. Negatives: - Costs associated with changes. Elite does not provide details to back up costs associated with changes, i.e. material and labor estimates. It was apparent to me that significant overhead and markup is added to the actual material and labor cost. This business practice did not sit well with me, given Elite claims to be transparent with their customers. A customer does not have the option of getting competitive bids for changes and I believe a customer should know exactly what they are being charged. - Schedule. Mark the project manager did everything he could to finish the job in a timely manner. However, his hands were tied because the primary two man crew only worked 4 - 5 hours per day. These work hours continued even as the schedule for completing the tile was slipping from 4/29 to 5/10. I complained to the operations manager about this but nothing changed. It appeared to me that Mark the project manager was the only person at Elite who cared about the schedule. - Accountability. In addition to the schedule, Elite management also did not assume any accountability for an error they made in the drawings for the remodel. The error was in the dimension for an existing window, which resulted in a cabinet not not matching up properly to the window sill. Elite proposed a "work around", but it was unacceptable to us because it would have looked like a work around. I offered to pay for most of the cost to install a smaller window. I simply wanted Elite to frame a new window sill. Elite's response was to send a change order for $960 to do this work. And of course there was no material or labor detail in the quote. I rejected the change order and with help did the work myself. It took about $50 in materials and about 4 hours work on a Saturday morning. Elite took zero accountability for their error. - Inspections. Shortly after the project began it was mentioned that the job was not going to be inspected by the city. In reviewing the contract ,I did not see any mention of inspections but I was sure it was stated prior to contract signing, that inspections would be included. However, I did find on Elites website it states they take care of all required inspections. I raised this issue with Elite and they agreed to have the job inspected by the city. But why would Elite have not planned to have the job inspected? Its a requirement from the city. This is another questionable busy practice by Elite. My advice: Make sure inspections are written into the contract. And prior to signing the contract, make notes of any promises or agreements and make sure they too are included in the contract. I also recommend getting copies of ALL preliminary estimates and drawings that will likely be generated prior to the final design and cost estimate. I did not, and when I wanted to refer back to a prior estimate Elite "could not find it".

No corners were cut and when he had his payment in hand still came back to finish up a small detail because it was the right thing to do. The customer should not need to pull the lead and press for answers about whether a 40 year old header needs to be replaced if trade can see that the header is fine. See photo. Contractors and trade should be honest from the start, beginning with the initial estimate. Other red flags (in retrospect) worth mentioning that are consistent with other recent reviews: -The employee who provided an estimate showed up over an hour before the scheduled time, examined our garage framing from only the outside, and did not return to finish the estimate an hour later as promised. -LBW scheduled our job a week later than initially agreed. -The lead asked open ended questions about the scope of the job upon arrival at the job, making it unclear whether he knew what work needed to be completed. As pleasant as the lead and office administrator were, it feels like we were hustled. If you engage with LBW, make sure you need the work!

At 65 years old, this is only the second review of a business I've ever written but I feel like I…read morehave been so taken advantage of or mislead that I had to write. This is a pretty long review so if you'd prefer to skip the details, here's my review in summary...it's like the old joke about the guy that's offered a great deal on a used car and when he goes to pick it up there are no tires on the car. When he questions the seller, the seller responds "Oh, I didn't know you wanted tires too". I asked for an estimate on removing the poles left from my tearing out the drywall on a couple of walls in our very small 1970's ranch-style home. After a Zoom consultation with Jason, I believe, he sent me a written estimate which I accepted and paid a 25% deposit. I'm not sure of his name because I never heard from or saw him again. Two weeks before the project's scheduled date someone else from LBW's came out to look over the project and told me that there was no way they could do the project for that price and so if I wanted them to do the "drywall patch" afterwards it would be another $3800. $3800. This was more than 50% of the total project. I asked what that entails and he explains that it was just covering the 2 beams at the ceiling line with drywall putty. The way it was explained to me it seemed like a very insignificant thing as well as seeming to be way overpriced for the amount of work he described it would involve; so I said "Well geez then I'll just have to do that myself or something." This had been scheduled for weeks and now at the 9th hour they're wanting another $4000 from me when the whole project was only $6500 to start with! I got my written estimate out to show him and the way the estimate reads there were 3 categories...the first category described part of the project and the extended amount was $0. The second category described a bigger part of the project and the extended amount was $6500. The third referred to "tape and bed" and the extended amount was $0. The bottom line or total was therefore $6500 which I assumed included everything in the estimate. This was the first I'd heard of anything costing "extra". He didn't comment or say anything else and just made a note on his paper. After he left I really felt like I had been part of a "bait & switch" deal or something. The same person came out again several days before the project was to start and we went over the same details. I asked again about the drywall and he again explained it to me like it was just covering "the slit in the ceiling we have to make in order to raise the beam into place." Again he made it seem like almost an afterthought or that I would just have to throw a little drywall putty up there along a slit line just to cover the edge of the new beam. There was no warning or concern I didn't understand the extent of what we were discussing or anything. I asked it he would be there just to make sure and he said he would. And just like I initially thought the estimate included everything necessary to do the job I now also thought I knew what to expect at the completion of the project. The day of the job about 8 men showed up but he wasn't one of them. Like the estimator I never saw the second guy again either. Only 1 of the 8 men spoke even the slightest English and I mean the type of non-speaking English person that responds to you basically with just a blank stare when asked something. At 5pm they were finished and the pictures show how my house looked at completion (except it DOESN"T show how there were also about 10 bundles of electricity/outlets/switches left hanging from the ceiling and laying on the floor where my two dogs were discovering something new for potential chewing...SO I asked a nice neighbor and he came over and tacked them up into the ceiling for safety until I could get someone out to fix them. Of course I'm not prepared and now have to find someone to do all this work and in the meantime live only in our bedroom as the temperature in the house is the same as it is outside. In late June in Texas. Our house is very small. I had started trying to update our 50 year old house myself a couple of years ago to save money however my husband then got very very ill and after being hospitalized for weeks and going through several life-threatening surguries he returned to work only to be let go. So we are now completing the project I started two years ago simply because we cannot afford our house anymore and in order to sell it must have the ceiling fixed. My husband is 70 and is in poor health. $6500 is ALOT of money for us right now and now I guess we have to come up with a lot more. I just feel extremely let down and stupid. I wish someone had explained the project to me more clearly or had given me an estimate that included not leaving our entire ceiling open. Some are "Is This Love" and others are all the other stuff not featuring Tawny Kitaen doing cartwheels on Jags. I'm happy to report these guys are on top of it. Kurt came out and gave us a quote for three rooms (bedroom, living area and office) that was extremely fair. Living room was to be done in a very light grey. Others were to be done in a bright white. Dutch white was done upstairs. Two man crew showed up promptly the very next day and moved furniture and taped off and prepped and painted. Did an amazing job. Only problem was that Dutch white is lavender. After reading a bunch of reviews it's a flaw on the manufacturer behr. Called the owner and he sent the two guys back out and they painted it again in a bright white for no additional cost and did it right. Think "Here I Go Again". Loved the promptness and honesty and the cleanup. Was a great experience. Will use them again for bathroom renovation and upstairs painting.

Throughout this journey, Encore has cancelled and rescheduled on me more than 5 times. I would encourage you not to use this company. If you do, be sure not to pay Chris until you have thoroughly examined the work. This is because there is no urgency to correct any mistakes that they make. I hired Encore Painting to paint my garage in February 2025. It is now March 2026, and they still have not fixed the job. My garage is still the wrong color. Don't be fooled by the good reviews. They are survey sharks. They hassle you to give a 5 star review.
