Outstanding selection and service. My fav place to drop money! I've bought 2 RCF subs here. The prices are the best I've come across.

Similar to an older review here on Yelp, I had a bad customer service experience trying to get a refund for a canceled order.

I'm not sure where I first read/heard about Moondog HiFi but it has intrigued me for some time. I…read morelove listening bars for many reasons: the music is a central part of the experience rather than blending in to the background, they oftentimes have a spirit of community, and they are a lower key alternative to clubs for audiophile-leaning folks who want to avoid lines, crowds, covers, and unnecessary hype. Moondog HiFi is certainly appealing for these reasons, but it also happens to offer delicious Middle Eastern food and an impressive cocktail program. In this way it's a triple threat -- and maybe a quadruple threat if you consider the fact that it's kind of off the beaten path to the point that it can only be sought out rather than stumbled upon, which is an important distinction. Though we came here to pregame in a sense, I found myself wishing we had stayed here instead of venturing to our next destination, which says something about my preferences and propensity for FOMO but also says something about the quality of experience you get at Moondog HiFi. We came here on New Year's Eve for a late dinner and drinks, at around 9:15pm. Though I had this spot bookmarked for some time, I didn't register how removed it is until we walked over from the Morgan Ave L stop. Though it's relatively close to other nightlife, it's on a street that feels almost desolate, such that you may begin to question that you got the location wrong. But once you arrive, you'll know you're in the right place. There is considerable outdoor space here, making Moondog HiFi an awesome spot for groups and long nights in good weather. That said, we came on a frigid night so only indoors was open, meaning I can't speak to outdoor vibes. But if they're anything like the indoor vibes, you'll be in for a good time. We made a reservation here beforehand which was definitely the move -- at least when you anticipate the place being busy -- as the indoor space is relatively small and narrow. Many people here seemed have the same idea as we did, as we saw a lot of folks enjoying shared plates at their tables. Though the music is the main draw and the cocktails a close second, the food -- which is by the chef who runs Balaboosta -- is not to be missed. Drink-wise, Moondog Hifi offers an impressive cocktail menu alongside plenty of other beverage options. We stuck to cocktails, as the menu looked too good to stray from. To start, I got the Exquisite Corpse (Thai Basil, Arak, Lemon, Lillet, Gin) and my partner got the When Birds Cry (Mezcal, Mastiha, Lime, Grapefruit Soda). I thought the Exquisite Corpse would be similar to a Corpse Reviver #2 given the name and ingredients, but it was a lot sweeter than I expected. I was in luck, though, because my partner liked it a lot and I very much enjoyed the When Birds Cry, so we swapped. The Figroni (Gin, Sweet Vermouth, Fig Syrup, Campari) was my other favorite drink of the night, a nice wintry variation on the classic. I was a bit worried that it would also skew too sweet given that figs alone are quite sweet, but it was very well balanced and super tasty. As I mentioned, the food here is as much of a draw as anything else. Kind of a Middle Eastern-Mexican fusion, which happen to be two of my preferred cuisines. The menu is mostly smaller plates that are great for sharing with good options for folks who have dietary preferences or restrictions. We got a solid variety of dishes and left thoroughly satisfied and impressed. Eats, below: Shrimp Taco w/ Slaw, Sweet Harissa, Pineapple, Pickled Red Onions I love a shrimp taco and this hit the spot. Super flavorful and bright. Chicken Shawarma Hummus w/ Tahini, Passionate S'chug, Tirchi Pickles, Tortilla Chips I can see why folks rave about the hummus because this was excellent. The texture, the flavor -- it all worked. It's also a decent portion and surprisingly filling, so keep that in mind when you're trying to figure out how much to order. Brussels Sprouts w/ Spicy Date Glaze, Pistachio There's not much that can go wrong with this combo. Pairing roasted brussels sprouts with some kind of sweetness like date/pomegranate with some chopped nuts to add some texture and you've got yourself a winning side dish. Slaw Salad w/ Cilantro, Mint, Scallion, Pickled Chayote, Crispy Tortilla, Miso-Tahini This was the surprise stunner for me. It was a nice complement to the richer and warmer dishes, but beyond that it was really interesting and unique and flavorful. I hesitate to say it was my favorite of the night because everything we ordered was memorable but it's telling that I was wanting a second order of this at the end of the meal despite being quite full.

I've been in the audio hobby for over 27 years, so I've learned the difference between a team that actually knows their stuff and one that's just moving boxes. I am the proud new owner of Certified Authentic Pre-Owned Wilson Sabrinas in Obsidian Black. Honestly, taking the leap on Wilsons wasn't really on my radar until a credible, certified pair popped up at a reputable regional dealer. That sense of local security and support is the only reason I felt comfortable taking my system to the next level. Right from the first message, the team was straight-up with me. They walked me through exactly what Wilson's Certified Authentic program entails, the Certification work done on the speakers, the warranty, and the realistic logistics. No hard sell, no runaround, and no question left unanswered. That's the kind of foresight you get from decades of real experience. What really set this apart was the installation. Their Certified installer Mike came out to do the Wilson Audio Setup Procedure (WASP). The guy is a total pro - super patient, incredibly knowledgeable, and just a great person to work with. He added a ton of value to the whole experience. My space is far from a showroom. It's a tight studio apartment, with a corner-loaded left channel, a workstation that isn't moving anywhere; essentially a "lab in motion" for my audio hobby. Mike didn't blink. He worked around the real-world constraints and went through the WASP methodically. Everything was done ear-first and with serious precision. Watching him dial it in showed me exactly why Wilson insists on this setup process; it's not just marketing fluff, it's real substance. The Sabrinas sound phenomenal, and they absolutely live up to their reputation. The speakers and set-up rival my former reference Levinson and Magnepan system. Once you graduate into equipment that has serious value, it's 100% about trust. You have to trust the product, the transaction, and the follow-through. Stereo Exchange nailed all three. If you're serious about bringing your experience to the next level, Stereo Exchange is the place.

But I check online and the product is showing as in stock still with a price 2x what I paid (now in line with the rest of the online sphere's pricing) -- idk how many strikes to count for these events but it would be several. Why am I being lied to? Why have I had to reach out every time instead of proactive communication from the retailer? Why was my purchase price not honored like any good retailer would? On top of that, the guy I spoke to the second time offered to have the guy from call #1 contact me as he was the one running point on all this of this and of course I never received a call. Bunch of lying cowards at the fulfillment department of this company. Everything you dont want in a customer experience. Would never spend a dime supporting a business like this.

They ended up selling me the amp I wanted and more expensive speakers that still fit my requirements. I worked with George. Here are the positives I experienced: - They were exceptionally generous with their time. I learned quite a bit from coming here. - They were great at finding products that fit my requirements, including suggesting alternatives I hadn't considered. And I thought I researched everything! - They were good at "bending the audiophile rules" like speaker placement and minimum power requirements for an amp. They sold me a system that shouldn't work on paper but does work really well in practice. - They were exceptionally flexible and accommodating when it came to delivery and installation, both services that they provide. I'm very grateful for all of the above. But caveat emptor. There were some downsides and you need to be well-informed going in. - All sales are final. - They will sell you overpriced cables. It's the cost of doing business. - I didn't actually audition the speakers on my desired amp but rather used a substitute device that was more readily available in their showroom. In retrospect, it was stupid of me not to insist this. - It took a long time to receive the goods. It was a lot longer than they had initially estimated. You will need to be patient. - They claim to provide a "guarantee" that their customers will enjoy the systems they purchase, and tbf they go quite far in delivering on this promise. But, after the installation, I had to spend days troubleshooting the amp and the TV. I had to even purchase a separate audio streaming device to compensate for software bugs in the amp. It was an amp that I had initially chosen, but Innovative stood behind it and they did not give me the practical help I needed. Instead, they gave me relentless positivity about the quality of their product offerings. This might be good for closing a deal but not for actually getting the best quality out of the system. - As soon as the speakers arrived, I was told they required 100 hours of playing to fully break in for the best audio quality, as the drivers are stiff coming off the factory line. I emailed the speaker company and confirmed that this was a falsehood. I called George out on this and his subsequent responses hinted at an admission of guilt. Beware of tactics like this. - Their digital priorities are wrong, imo. I would like devices that are dead simple for other people in my household to use. For me, HDMI-CEC is important, so we can control power and volume with our TV. Also, Google Home integration is important, so we can have synchronized speaker groups. They will steer the conversation away from topics like this because they don't have good answers. Instead, they will want to sell you expensive DACs and hi-res audio streaming services like Tidal and Qubuz, even when doing so contradicts scientific facts about the limits of human hearing. - There are great products out there (including so-called "budget audiophile" equipment) that Innovative doesn't sell because they aren't dealers for whatever reason. These gaps are where the missing piece of your audio puzzle could be hiding. Overall, I'm actually quite happy with my experience. Given the sum total of my requirements, there weren't many options and Innovative sold me a reasonable package. If I had to do it over, I probably wouldn't have changed much. However, I might have tried Park Ave Audio just to compare.
