It was a pleasure working with Mike at Hi-Fi Loft. After listening to the Magico speakers, I decided to make the purchase. I couldn't be happier with Jason's and Mike's attention to the careful unboxing and installation of these 200lb speakers. The customer service is top notch, as Mike was easy to reach and kept me abreast of the status of the speaker build, delivery coordination, and follow-up to be sure I was satisfied.

Mike at HiLoft has been great to work with as we have built out our listening room. From speakers to preamp to amp, turntable and even the wiring, Mike made sure to recommend what we needed based on our needs and the space and nothing more. We are super happy with how the room has turned out and are enjoying it with friends. I highly recommend Mike and the team at HiLoft for your Stereo/HiFi needs.

My first purchase from Stereo Exchange showed me the benchmark in New York high-end audio dealer…read moresupport. I've been in the audio hobby for over 27 years, so I've learned the difference between a team that actually knows their stuff and one that's just moving boxes. I am the proud new owner of Certified Authentic Pre-Owned Wilson Sabrinas in Obsidian Black. Honestly, taking the leap on Wilsons wasn't really on my radar until a credible, certified pair popped up at a reputable regional dealer. That sense of local security and support is the only reason I felt comfortable taking my system to the next level. Right from the first message, the team was straight-up with me. They walked me through exactly what Wilson's Certified Authentic program entails, the Certification work done on the speakers, the warranty, and the realistic logistics. No hard sell, no runaround, and no question left unanswered. That's the kind of foresight you get from decades of real experience. What really set this apart was the installation. Their Certified installer Mike came out to do the Wilson Audio Setup Procedure (WASP). The guy is a total pro - super patient, incredibly knowledgeable, and just a great person to work with. He added a ton of value to the whole experience. My space is far from a showroom. It's a tight studio apartment, with a corner-loaded left channel, a workstation that isn't moving anywhere; essentially a "lab in motion" for my audio hobby. Mike didn't blink. He worked around the real-world constraints and went through the WASP methodically. Everything was done ear-first and with serious precision. Watching him dial it in showed me exactly why Wilson insists on this setup process; it's not just marketing fluff, it's real substance. The Sabrinas sound phenomenal, and they absolutely live up to their reputation. The speakers and set-up rival my former reference Levinson and Magnepan system. Once you graduate into equipment that has serious value, it's 100% about trust. You have to trust the product, the transaction, and the follow-through. Stereo Exchange nailed all three. If you're serious about bringing your experience to the next level, Stereo Exchange is the place.

Plus he selected components that would work with my existing Simaudio Sonus Faber setup. My original salesman Glenn was there as well to chime in ha ha. I have nothing but praise for these guys. They know their products inside out. Literally. If you are going to spend some serious cash for gear, may as well buy from people that actually own the stuff you are buying. Glenn has the exact same turntable I bought today in his house. They won't sell you something they wouldn't use themselves.

I had a very limited budget of $1,000, and I was hosting a housewarming party the next day. I knew I was in the wrong store pretty much as soon as I walked in. However, Andy Singer was very patient and walked me through my options and I walked out with a CD player, an amp, and speakers from three different manufacturers that I had never heard of before. And he managed to make it work inside my budget of $1,000. A couple of months later, I was developing audiophile tendencies. The equipment I bought was that good, even within that budget, but the CD player just wasn't doing it for me. So I boxed it back up and returned to Sound by Singer. Amazingly, Andy didn't just take the CD player back. He sold me this beautiful alternative CD player made by an obscure English firm, for which all he asked me for was $200 and the return of the original CD player. The resultant combo kept me more than happy for 20 subsequent years. The amp eventually died, and the obscure firm in Jersey that made it had gone out of business, and it was not cost-effective to replace it. I ended up replacing everything. Although it's not an option for an audiophile, so I don't really qualify, I covered my home with Sonos speakers. I still have that CD player. I never play music on it anymore, but it was built with such love and care I have not been able to bring myself to part from it. Thank you, Andy. If you were the person many of the people posting negative reviews here say about you, you would have laughed me out of your store with my budget of $1,000. But instead, you made that $1,000 go so much further than I could possibly imagine. RIP Andy, and thank you for 20 plus years of beautiful music and helping turn my first New York apartment into my home.

So, consider this to…read morebe "Jason's guide to getting the best out of your Innovative AV experience" I came with a list of specific products I wanted to buy (speakers + amp) and the spatial constraints of my living room. They ended up selling me the amp I wanted and more expensive speakers that still fit my requirements. I worked with George. Here are the positives I experienced: - They were exceptionally generous with their time. I learned quite a bit from coming here. - They were great at finding products that fit my requirements, including suggesting alternatives I hadn't considered. And I thought I researched everything! - They were good at "bending the audiophile rules" like speaker placement and minimum power requirements for an amp. They sold me a system that shouldn't work on paper but does work really well in practice. - They were exceptionally flexible and accommodating when it came to delivery and installation, both services that they provide. I'm very grateful for all of the above. But caveat emptor. There were some downsides and you need to be well-informed going in. - All sales are final. - They will sell you overpriced cables. It's the cost of doing business. - I didn't actually audition the speakers on my desired amp but rather used a substitute device that was more readily available in their showroom. In retrospect, it was stupid of me not to insist this. - It took a long time to receive the goods. It was a lot longer than they had initially estimated. You will need to be patient. - They claim to provide a "guarantee" that their customers will enjoy the systems they purchase, and tbf they go quite far in delivering on this promise. But, after the installation, I had to spend days troubleshooting the amp and the TV. I had to even purchase a separate audio streaming device to compensate for software bugs in the amp. It was an amp that I had initially chosen, but Innovative stood behind it and they did not give me the practical help I needed. Instead, they gave me relentless positivity about the quality of their product offerings. This might be good for closing a deal but not for actually getting the best quality out of the system. - As soon as the speakers arrived, I was told they required 100 hours of playing to fully break in for the best audio quality, as the drivers are stiff coming off the factory line. I emailed the speaker company and confirmed that this was a falsehood. I called George out on this and his subsequent responses hinted at an admission of guilt. Beware of tactics like this. - Their digital priorities are wrong, imo. I would like devices that are dead simple for other people in my household to use. For me, HDMI-CEC is important, so we can control power and volume with our TV. Also, Google Home integration is important, so we can have synchronized speaker groups. They will steer the conversation away from topics like this because they don't have good answers. Instead, they will want to sell you expensive DACs and hi-res audio streaming services like Tidal and Qubuz, even when doing so contradicts scientific facts about the limits of human hearing. - There are great products out there (including so-called "budget audiophile" equipment) that Innovative doesn't sell because they aren't dealers for whatever reason. These gaps are where the missing piece of your audio puzzle could be hiding. Overall, I'm actually quite happy with my experience. Given the sum total of my requirements, there weren't many options and Innovative sold me a reasonable package. If I had to do it over, I probably wouldn't have changed much. However, I might have tried Park Ave Audio just to compare.

We were in town and walked into Innovative to check out what they have to offer.
